Cape San Blas Road runs north to south along the peninsula, and the Stump Hole narrows divide it. There is no supermarket store on the peninsula, so if you want daily conveniences nearby, the south end is closest to Port St. Joe.
Northwest Florida Beaches International is the closest airport, about two hours from mid-cape. You’ll need a car to get to your destination.
Buy it from the Gulf County Tax Collector in Port St. Joe or at the county welcome center, and bring your license, proof of insurance and proof of ownership. Out-of-county visitors pay a separate rate.
Scallop Cove, mid-cape, sells groceries, ice, firewood, and fuel and has an ATM. For a full shop, Duren's Piggly Wiggly in Port St. Joe is 20 to 30 minutes off the peninsula. Indian Pass Raw Bar is about 15 minutes east, and Apalachicola's restaurants are about 45 minutes.
Gulf County treats anything left unattended on the sand from an hour after sunset until sunrise as discarded, and it becomes county property. Holes dug during the day have to be filled before you leave, and glass is banned outright on county beaches.
