About the owner: We both play competitive softball, David on a men's team and Penne on a ladies team. We travel all over the US and usually are going in different directions. We love being able to take a break and come to the Cape for rest and relaxation and to enjoy the peace and ambiance of it. When we aren't there we are happy to share our home so that others can experience the Cape

Why this property? We live in Colorado and are pleased that we invested in property on the Cape. The ambiance and seclusion without hi rises and go carts and fast food places really appealed to us. Of course the Cape has changed somewhat but continues to be a magical place to come and enjoy the beach, wildlife and much more.
Years ago when we came to the Cape on a camping trip we loved it so much that we decided to make an investment there. That was 34 years ago when the Cape was very much uninhabited and quite a magical place. It continues to have the quiet atmosphere since there are no high rises, go cart tracks or fast food restaurants there. There are hiking trails, lots of wildlife, parks, nature walks and even two new pickle ball courts. Even though we had hurricane damage we are in for the long haul at the Cape. It is worth it!

Hurricane Opal was our first home on the Cape. When she took it from us we were excited to find an area on the Cape to rebuild that offered more ambiance, tranquility and privacy. The beaches are very wide, less populated and offer an abundance of wild life and good fishing.

Guestbook comments from the host:

Perfect in every way except the beach nourishment was going on right in front of us. We had to find a different beach for a couple of days that was the only negative, but it had to be done. Our fur babies and us totally enjoyed the Cape. We rode bikes, hiked the state park beach and Stump Hole to see the Donna Kay. Kayak the bay and saw so much wildlife everywhere we went. House had everything you needed and more. Clean and inviting. Mattresses were comfortable-we had to move to the extra bedroom when the beach was being worked on to get away from the noise. We are actually looking to purchase property in the area and would love to make the Cape our retirement home.

Oct 2019

This is the best experience we have had at the Cape. It was only a short walk to the beach which was heaven. You could sit out on the covered patio and listen to the waves. I was in love with the layout of the house and the amenities that were provided. The main bedroom was perfect for our visit. The jack and Jill bathroom was perfect for the 2 of us. No complaints just a very satisfied couple that will be back.

Sep 2019

Everything was so clean and tidy, the house was ideally situated literally 3 mins from the beach!
We had an amazing time , we WILL be back

Jul 2019

We had a wonderful stay . Very clean home close to the beach . Wonderful location close to coastal joes. Only complaint was the grass had not been mowed.

Jun 2019

We have visited the area twice now and live the beaches. We loved this house. I was there with my daughter and our pup, Maggie. This was Maggie’s first visit to the beach. It was the perfect house for us. Great distance from beach and fresh market as well as trading post. Could walk if we wanted. The house decor was so pretty and beachy. Loved not having carpet, easier to clean floors. The large kitchen area was perfect for preparing and cooking. We will definitely choose this house again.

Jun 2019

We have rented at THE CAPE for 18 years; we love it here! The SEA CASA is the best accommodation we have ever had! It is only steps away from the beach in a quiet restful spot. We could see the water every day from this house! The house is more than “well furnished” with relaxing beach theme and colors. The mattresses were new as well as many pieces of new furniture. AND there was “anything & everything” you would ever need, especially in the kitchen! The owners have given much thought to what extras you might need or want for cooking, linens, TVs, etc. In fact, we have a list of items we typically need to take on vacation because the items aren’t furnished at rentals. We use this list when packing. During our stay at THE SEA CASA, we never had to go to our ”vacation box” to get even one of these “extra” items. Three species of fish were caught which made delicious fish dinners! We liked the dual bathroom which accommodated more than one person at a time . . . and the extra room in the kitchen preparation area with new appliances, dishes & stainless pans, etc! The laminate floors were easy to maintain & always looked nice. It was an advantage to have both an open porch & screened porch because one of us couldn’t be in the sun. And, it sure was nice to have a garage & extra storage space down below. Sea Casa is highly recommended & we are looking forward to coming back!!!

Mar 2019

My husband and I only had a few days to spend this trip to the beach. This house was very comfortable and worked well for us. The kitchen has a great island and would easily accommodate more than one cook. The walk to the beach is short. Being just around the corner from the Trading Post was super convenient.

Sep 2018

When I was looking for a property for my family to share for our first vacation with my eldest son and his family, I ran across the Sea Casa, advertised to sleep 6. Long story short, once I communicated with the owner, it was clear that they only wanted 5 guest maximum in the home. I explained that 2 of the 6 would be children, which seemed to make their point that children were often left to sleep on the sofa bed and not supervised left a mess in the bed and living area. A little disappointed I agreed that only 5 would be staying, as one of the children was a guest of the family and although not an easy decision, made appropriate adjustments in our plans. I did try to find something else in our price range and requirements which included a no pet zone, but selections were few. When we arrived the location was excellent, although not directly on the beach, it is nestled among similar beach homes just behind the front beach properties which was just as described. The layout and deco is beach cozy, comfortable and fun. Nice space for a family of 5 or 6, however my son tried the sofa bed and said it was very uncomfortable. The upkeep was a concern and the property management was made aware. The fans had an obvious build up of dust. The shower curtain was heavily molded on the bottom corner and shower the knob had a build up of mold under the cap. My son and his wife found animal hairs on their pillow cases. The yard was unkempt and grass had overgrown the walkway to the steps that led upstairs to the entry door. Property mgmnt immediately sent out someone to bring new linens and to address our concerns very soon after the time of my call.

Well we thought it was too good to be true. The house was clean and bright and beautiful. We were so so close to the ocean. We had great neighbors. The sand was like powder sugar and the water clean and warm. The towns were adorably quaint and full of treasures. Icecream right at the end of the road...what more could we ask for??? We enjoyed every minute, and we are sorry we didn't have an extra minute to write in the book. But know! we would come again and Thank You!!

Jun 2015

Very nice stay at this property. The kids had a very short walk to beach, the dog got to come along and play and the parents could relax in a semi secluded location. The State Park nearby afforded a hands on experience for all. Sea slugs, conchs, urchins, turtles, star fish, etc., etc.

Beach house

The house was in a great location very close to the beach. Very nice pool. The house does need some stuff replaced like the grill was rusted, and some of the pot holders and kitchen stuff could use an upgrade. One of the bedrooms does not have a TV.
