Area Information

Located in South Fort Myers, Whiskey Creek boasts scenic lakes and canals (often Manatee, Sea Turtles and various fish have been sighted), an executive golf course open to the public and family atmosphere. Centrally located off McGregor Boulevard also known as the "Avenue of Palms", the two mile stretch of royal palms were planted by Thomas A. Edison in 1901. McGregor Blvd. turning right towards the historic Downtown Fort Myers District along the beautiful Caloosahatchee River and the causeways to Cape Coral and turning left towards Sanibel/Captiva and the bridge to Fort Myers Beach.

What we love about Whiskey Creek House (WCH):

WCH is a split plan layout where the primary bedroom and guest bedrooms are at opposite sides of the house and the main living area is in the middle. This makes it ideal for sharing and privacy. When we have visitors, they feel right at home because they have their own space. I really like that plus it is a ranch house with no stairs for my old knees.

Great pool which is deep for swimming or sitting on my noodle floating and watching some TV.

We are city slickers and so a well lit-up backyard and lanai area is essential and you can enjoy the outdoor space day or night. We have two small dogs and I like to watch them at night and know that they are okay and I can see them.

We like to eat out and love to snoop around the shops and there are all kinds of restaurants and shops just minutes away.

Private and peaceful setting - not much traffic.

Whiskey Creek Drive has a walking path and everyone says hello - super nice neighbourhood - you can even join the walking club if you are an early bird - on my list of things to do - ha ha.

Great grocery shopping at Publix, Fresh Market, Sprouts, Mario's Italian Meat Market, Aldi and Whole Foods. Lakes Park has a wonderful farmer's market.

Costco and Total Wines offer great deals and good gas.

Love that WCH is right off McGregor Blvd and it is an easy drive to Sanibel or Fort Myers Beach - we often pick up Publix sub sandwiches & drinks for the beach on the way. Sometimes we take the scenic drive all the way to Lover's Key Park or our favourite beach: Barefoot off Bonita Beach Road We love to see the Gopher Tortoise - they come out of their houses just before sundown.

We love WCH because we have still so much to discover and hope you have your own memories too.

Conveniently located a short driving distance to the Barbara Mann Performing Arts Theatre, Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, Edison/Ford Winter Estates, Riverwalk and Downtown Fort Myers, Lakes Park for nature hikes and canoeing, Butterfly Estates, Imaginarium Hands-On Museum, Shops & Restaurants, Spring training camps of the Boston Red Sox at the new City of Palms Park, the Minnesota Twins at Hammond Stadium at Lee County Sports Complex, and a short drive to the fabulous beaches of Fort Myers Beach, Lovers Key State Park and Sanibel and Captiva.

Attractions Within Walking Distance

Whiskey Creek Country Club is an executive golf course which is open to the public. Memberships are available both full and social. They offer many fun events throughout the year. Whiskey Creek is a short walk from the house and you can often see manatee, turtles, jumping fish and shorebirds. Whiskey Creek has a famous Farmer's Banyan Tree.

Favorite Places To Eat

We really like so many places to pick just one place but I really like to purchase an awesome steak at Mario's Italian Meat Market and bring it home and BBQ in the backyard. Nothing is nicer than relaxing beside the pool having a nice dinner, glass of wine and watching a little TV. We have awesome sunsets!

Inside Scoop

Our favourite place for exercise is just 4 miles from the house: Six Mile Cypress Slough. It is a wonderful place for a nature walk. Every time we go there, we see something new and exciting. Florida nature at its best. Morning hiking is nice because everything is waking up and, just before sunset, hundreds of birds come in to roost at the gator pond. Lots of gators! turtles, shorebirds, etc. This year we saw river otters.

When I have visitors, I always take them for a sunset dolphin cruise with Fishtail Marina on Estero Bay. Lots of dolphins and wonderful captains. Bring a drink or snack along and relax on a nice boat trip. Don't forget your camera.
