About the owner: We've lived in Fort Myers or Fort Myers Beach for over 50 years, still loving every chance to watch sunset at the beach, hop in the boat or kayaks, hike the variety of nature preserves, check out the local restaurants . . . and share our favorites with friends and our winter guests. We're avid gardeners and take personal care of the landscaping at the cottage, always looking to add some exotic foliage or blooms. We live about 30 miles inland from the beach cottage and are readily available to attend to guest's needs.

Why this property? Guests love the classic island cottage architecture and decor, with the big screened porches, hammocks and ceiling fans. The natural wood paneling, custom accents, and garden views take you in and make you feel at home within minutes of being here.

Wonderful cottage, great location!

We stayed in the upper unit of the Cottage for two months. As previous reviews have described, the cottage is great! Everything is here, including sharp kitchen knives! Bikes and beach equipment is also included. It is a 10 minute walk to Publix and a 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach! The cottage is located on a dead end street and is so quiet and peaceful. Beds were comfortable and linens great! (Would love a king bed Bill!). Bill and Betsy were delightful to work with and very responsive to anything we needed. This is a great place to experience Ft Myers Beach! Thanks Bill and Betsy!

Beautiful and Quiet

Close enough to the beach without the craziness of the beach. Quiet, with a tropical and shady environment. Owners are attentive and friendly, they provide great insight to the island, while not intrusive. I've stayed at this location multiple times and it NEVER gets old. Highly recommend staying here, especially if seeking an extended stay at FMB!!!

The perfect beach cottage getaway ... we will be back .. again and again!

From the moment you contact Bill & Betsy you are made to feel like family. Any question we had was quickly answered and put us at ease, knowing that everything would be perfect for our arrival and much needed getaway. The cottage was better than we expected it would be! Betsy and Bill met us at the property and walked us through everything and answered every little question we had. It's easy to become quick friends with these two as they are easy going, genuine individuals who care deeply about their property and the happiness of their guests. Just to be clear, you are only guests once, when you initially meet Bill & Betsy, after that you're friends. The downstairs one bedroom cottage was exactly what we needed, easy access, private screened porch, well equipped kitchen and PLENTY of linens. One of the first things we noticed (and you will too) is the pride that's taken in the cleanliness of the unit. It's roomy and spacious at the same time for what was needed. Betsy and Bill met us and were able to walk us through their upstairs unit which is larger and is gorgeous!!!!!! There is plenty of room, beautiful decorated, great bathroom and shower. Both units have use of Bicycles, beach cart, chairs and umbrellas as well as a utility room with FREE use of washer and dryer!!!!! The unit is located steps away from the main beach (access #16) in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. There is ample parking and beautifully landscaped outdoor area for enjoying a glass of wine in the evenings or to sit back with a cup of coffee in the morning while listening to the birds. The units are minutes from great restaurants, grocery store, great beach bars and fabulous sunsets. We are so very grateful to Bill & Betsy for making our much needed getaway so memorable, we enjoyed ourselves so much that we have already booked a return visit!

3 months at the beach

We spent 3 months enjoying Palm Garden Cottage. It was great to be just a short walk from the beach and we loved being in the second story lanai. We spent mornings and evenings in the lanai and soaked up the sun at the beach in between. The quiet 2 unit cottage was just what we were looking for. Pictures in the brochure are an understatement. The hosts, Bill & Betsy provided everything you need for a great vacation. Like new bikes, grill, beach chairs and cart, washer, dryer and lots more. Location and surroundings couldn't have been better.

A Perfect Getaway

This was a wonderful retreat for a long weekend away. It was super clean and comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and plenty of takeout menus if you decide not to cook. A five minute walk to the beach males this a perfect home-base for a beach weekend. The outdoor areas are well manicured and perfect for evening relaxation. Bath towels, beach towels, bikes and beach chairs are plentiful and appreciated!

Quaint, clean and private

The cottage is set near the end of a dead end on a large lot away from neighbors. It is enveloped by native vegetation giving it a rural oasis feel; all just a few bocks from the best section of surf and sand on Fort Myers Beach! The owners have included just about everything imaginable to leverage all FMB has to offer. And, grocery, bars, and restaurants are all very close. A real gem!
