Panama City Beach stretches along Front Beach Road from the quiet west end to the state park at the east, almost all of it Gulf-front condo towers. Not every listing is on the sand, though. Some sit across Front Beach Road or on the bay side, so check the view before you book.
Much of the beachfront inventory sits inside big named towers like Shores of Panama and Calypso Resort Towers, each its own community of Gulf-front condos.
Most of what's worth doing here is outdoors, spread from the beaches and boat trips at the east-end state park to the wooded trails inland.
American, Delta, Southwest, and United fly into Northwest Florida Beaches International (ECP), with nonstops to hubs like Atlanta and Dallas.
Front Beach Road is the congested tourist strip, and Back Beach Road (US-98) is the faster inland bypass when it jams. The Bayway's Route 7 Beach bus runs the strip for a low flat fare, but a car reaches everything else.
Most PCB rentals are in resort towers that add their own rules on top of the owner's. The age minimum varies by building, so a younger group should confirm it before booking. Expect other limits, too, like one parking pass per unit.
The Gulf looks calm, but rip currents are the real hazard here. Look for beach flags. Red means hazardous and double-red closes the water entirely, with a $500 fine if you go in.
