If you're weighing nearby beach towns, Destin, a busier resort built around its charter-fishing harbor, is just west. Santa Rosa Beach anchors 30A to the east.
It takes about 50 minutes to reach Miramar Beach compared to 40 minutes from VPS (Destin–Fort Walton Beach).
For getting to various nearby areas, a car is needed, but a golf cart may be nice to travel locally. Some Miramar Beach vacation rentals include or arrange them.
