Inside Scoop
Why Hurricanes Don’t Make Landfall In Sarasota – The Legend Continues
According to folklore, when Hernando DeSoto was encamped in this area, one of his officers fell in love with an Indian woman and they set up house together. There was apparently some kind of flu epidemic and she died. The Indians came to DeSoto and asked for her body for burial. DeSoto and the young men didn’t want to allow some kind of “heathen” ritual as she was well known and liked by all in the company. The Indian chief declared that if they allowed him to bury the woman, he would ask the spirits to protect the area so no storm would ever land there. After a beautiful ceremony, the woman was cremated on the funeral pyre, and once consumed, the remains were placed on a raft, overflowing with flowers, and set afloat into the bay. Since that time, no hurricane in recorded history has ever made landfall in Sarasota Bay.

About the owner: My wife and I grew up in Michigan. We met in the mid 80’s and moved to Palm Beach County Florida and were married. We have two adopted children and now we have our grandson. Over the years God has directed us in our life and the journey has been an adventure. We have always liked to host people in our home making their area as comfortable and inviting as possible. This is our gift and we do this together. We currently live in Colorado and are in real estate full time. In addition we are certified marriage coaches and work one-on-one with marriages. In Colorado we own and operate short term rentals. There is a new term that describe us and that is “Couplepreneurs”. We work together, play together and minister together loving all of it. Our dreams and visions are to travel the USA and abroad meeting people and loving life together. Be the best parents, grand parents and friends we can be and one day move back to Florida and find our rhythm there.
Why this property? We lived in Palm Beach County for 15 years and then moved to Colorado. Our life in Colorado has been a real time of growth in all areas of our life. In April of 2022 we vacationed in Islamorada, Florida and just took in the peacefulness that area provided. Julia felt that she heard from God “welcome home”, and we both felt it was time to start the search for a property in Florida. After searching, educating, and narrowing down we were lead to the west coast and settled on this condo on Siesta Key in Florida. This is a dream that was inspired by God in our life together and we felt this location was best for us. Siesta Key is special to us in many ways. For us is the location, history, white sands on the beach, warmth of the Gulf, the ambiance of the Key and so much more gave us peace to invest in real estate here and see where it takes us.

Perfect Getaway!
This condo has it ALL! It's all about location in Siesta Key & this condo is a very short walk to the beach, stores & restaurants! I loved walking down the lush path to see the picture perfect sunsets on the beach. But the condo itself is wow!!! Comfortable, colorful & full of touches that make it feel like home!
