Cape Coral is divided into four quadrants separated by Santa Barbara Boulevard and Hancock Bridge Parkway/Embers Parkway. The southwest has the most direct Gulf access with gated marina villages. The southeast wraps the Caloosahatchee River and includes downtown's walkable strip, while the north and northwest are quieter with limited routes out to open water and fewer rentals. Top communities in the southern half include:
For quieter, mostly residential canals, Pelican and Caloosahatchee sit near the river in the central Cape, while Burnt Store runs up the freshwater northwest corner.
RSW is the closest airport, only about half an hour from central Cape Coral. Punta Gorda (PGD) is another option about 45 minutes north.
