The Admiral on the Cove boasts of 106’ frontage on Captain's Cove with a 40’ shared finger pier. The deep clear water is relaxing to sit and observe multi-species of fish. Enjoy your breakfast on the veranda watching the sunrise and in the evening’s the sunsets at Port Antigua’s Private Beach on the beautiful Florida Bay. Relish preparing your grilled feasts while overlooking Captain's Cove and the Atlantic Ocean. This property also enjoys walking and bike paths the entire length of the island of Lower Matecumbe (5 miles). Our neighborhood private beach is made up of beautiful sand and crystal clear bay water, one of the best beaches north of Key West. Our beach area hosts numerous picnic tables covered by chickee huts with charcoal grills. Port Antigua is a golf cart friendly community, so we would recommend renting one (information included) to come and go to the private beach, gas station for snacks, sightseeing and a local Cuban restaurant. It is rare to experience a property on such deep water and when the Cove is clear you can observe multiple species of aquatic life, including manatees and porpoises. Huge tarpon will suspend underneath the dock. Feel free to catch your dinner right from your back yard. This property is ideal for extended families who will enjoy their family vacation but also have their own private space and down time.

It is a very short distance to some of the best offshore and back water fishing in the world. Minutes away from the # 2 and # 5 channels which are famous for the tarpon run. Minutes from Flamingo National Park and Offshore to the reef with numerous areas for fishing, diving and snorkeling. Lower Matecumbe is a small island less than 5 miles in length with very little commercial real estate. On this island you will be able to relax and blend in with the locals.
In today’s times scheduling a getaway can be difficult. We are willing to work with you on that schedule, including duration of your stay, check-in and check-out times, pet’s will be considered on a per case basis. We enjoy a strong network with local marina’s, charter captain’s and business merchants. This might come in helpful when you are working on your vacation schedule.

You are able to rent half of this house
Pets are accepted on a case by case basis. If you plan to bring a pet we will need to know the breed, age, and weight. If your pet is accepted there is an additional non-refundable pet fee of $150. Flea and tick treatment required and a copy of the vaccines.
Owner's Cancellation Policy: - 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
The owner will prepare a rental agreement and forward it via an e-mail attachment to the prospective guest for approval.
A Reservation Deposit of $1,000.00 is due at time of the reservation. The balance of the rent/security deposit is due 60 days prior to occupancy.
Damage and Incidentals:
You will be responsible for any damage to the rental property caused by you or your party during your stay.
Renter must follow the Rental Rules in Exhibit A and Village of Islamorada Ordinance NO.06-03 located in Exhibit B of the rental agreement.
Swim at own risk. No Life Guard on Duty.
No smoking inside the Home.
Utility Caps/Mo: $ 100 water and $250 electricity. The owner pays up to this amount. If there is an overage, the amount will be deducted from the security deposit and a copy of the bill will be provided.

We fell in love with the Florida Keys many years ago. We have rented and stayed in the Keys from Big Pine Key north to Key Largo and have always dreamt of owning our own place. George is a licensed builder and wife Bonnie have been involved in many residential restorations. We welcome you to enjoy this very unique property.
Why this property? With our experience vacationing in the Florida Keys we found ourselves wanting to truly enjoy an Island living lifestyle. We definitely have it on Lower Matecumbe Key, an island less than 5 miles in length. With nearly 20 years of experience managing vacation rentals we have received numerous requests for accommodations for large extended families and groups.

Beautiful place in an excellent location
George & Bonnie are excellent hosts. Our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom condo was beautifully furnished and very clean. We had a family of 10 so the 2 upstairs units with connecting balcony were absolutely ideal. We loved the location and view!
