We purchased this house after renting in the Keys for many years, we got tired of looking so hard for good quality, clean homes to rent which were and are still very difficult to find. Unique Benefits
This is our only vacation house , we live only 1.5 hours away and we take care of the house as good as our main home. We have a handy man and his wife that live close by and are constantly doing stuff to the house, from cleaning, to maintaining, preventative care, gardener taking care of the landscape , plants and trees and I am also constantly " twicking " the house and updating and replacing everything that is needed.
This is our joy and pride and we spare no expense to keep it up and maintain it.
Why Kids Love It
Kids love it and adults too because of the diversity of the house, amenities and location. For the die hard fishing and diving people it is very close to access to ocean. Less than 7 to 9 minutes to the ocean access , even less to the bay. For those that don't participate on the above you have bicycles in the house to ride around the neighborhood, go to the private beach on the kayak, ghanoe or standup paddle board, rest or take a nap in one of the 3 hammocks at the house, go to downtown Islamorada, a short ride to the many shops, restaurants, cafe's, stores, nail & hair salons, spa's, grocery stores, ice cream places, souvenir stores, marinas to buy fresh fish, hotels, visit museum of diving, theater of the sea and much more.
These are just some of the reason's kids will love it and adults too.
Area Information
Islamorada is the sport fishing capital of the world. We are located in White Marlin Beach subdivision with a private community beach on the bayside that is pristine with a beautiful white sandy beach.
Excellent restaurants, shops, stores in downtown Islamorada 3 to 6 miles north.
Excellent fishing and diving in the area .
Attractions Within Walking Distance
White Marlin beach is our private community beach just 6 blocks from the house on the bayside. It is a pristine white sand beach very rare in the Florida Keys. You can go on the kayak, standup paddle board on ghanoe available at the house for your use.
Anne's beach is just a few block south if of us the ocean side, it is a public beach where you wind usually find a lot of wind surfers.
Mobil grocery store and cafeteria is at the entrance for our subdivision and it is a local 7 - 11 for purchasing certain groceries and food, very convenient.
Favorite Places To Eat
Habanos , Cuban restaurant 6 blocks south on the ocean side in Caloosa Cove marina. Close by to pick up and take home.
Robbie's, eat outside by the water or inside, local place very typical of Keys.
Lazy Days, 3 miles north next to Bud and Mary's marina. Lunch and dinner, great local favorite place, large portions always good food and fresh fish. Reasonable prices. sit outside or inside. Terrific when there is a full moon coming up on the ocean side.
Green Turtle, 5 miles north on the ocean side, sit inside, nice elegant restaurant excellent. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Midway Café, 4 miles north, breakfast and lunch favorite. Great coffee , pastries, croissants, etc.
Kaiyo Grill, 5 miles north on the ocean side. Great restaurant dinner, quasi sushi, fresh fish always, nice.
Chef Michael, 5 miles north, dinner, excellent, nice, fresh fish, quality.
Mangrove Mike's , 6 miles north, local favorite for breakfast, very Keys oriented. Serves lunch too. Not fancy, but good and homy.
Ziggie & Mad Dogs, real nice dinner restaurant, steaks and seafood, quality, nice ambience, 6 miles north.
Bayside Gourmet, great lunch and dinner, not fancy, but great food and reasonable, family style. 6 miles north.
Square Grouper, 4 miles north on the bayside in Islamorada marina. Excellent, my favorite for dinner .
Lorlei, outdoor bayside restaurant, great sunsets and lots of character of the Keys.
Papa Joe's , outdoor inside great restaurant, recently opened up. Great sunsets , outside seating a must for sunset and boat parking is great.
Inside Scoop
Best place to buy bait is Tiny's, a gas station - quick market 6 miles north.
Radio station the locals listen too, 100.3 FM. They have fishing and diving reports everyday, local news , events and Keys music.
TV stations of the Keys, channel 24 and 5. They feature local restaurants, sites, festivals, news all over the Keys.
Besides the beautiful sunsets at the bay, go early in the morning on the bike trail by the highway to watch the sunrise. You will not regret getting up early !
Get free newspapers to get the local scoop, Free Press, weekly, Keys Weekly, others too. At all news stands around town. The way newspapers used to be !

About the owner: We are Orlando and Iliana Abella, we have lived in Miami since the early sixties and have been going to the Keys ever since. We bought this house as our main vacation house. We love fishing, diving, boating and the ambience and atmosphere of the Florida Keys, specially Islamorada and this location. Paradise, to relax, enjoy and share life's true riches of family and friends. When we don't use it it's available for rent.
Why this property? When we saw this house, it was ' love at first sight ' and still is, although many renovations and much remodeling has taken place and constant ' twicking ' . A few of the main benefits are its easy fast access to the bay and ocean, the pristine white sandy private community beach on the bay side, ( very unusual in the Keys ) and its neighborhood.
Since this is our only vacation house, we really take care of it constantly. Everything works, we keep it up with a very good handy man and his wife as the cleaning lady. Always updating , repairing, replacing, maintaining, cleaning inside and out. This house actually looks better in person than in the pictures and virtual tour and in most cases it is the opposite.

Why this house ?
This is our personal vacation house, we take care of it personally, what you see is what you get , except it actually is better in person than pictures or videos. Everything works, you can eat of the floor and its a family vacation home .
Why this location ?
In the Keys beaches are very rare, we are fortunately that the White Marlin Beach Association owns a bayfront community lot 6 blocks away from the house that has a white pristine white sandy beach . Beautifully kept up with adirondack chairs, chikees, coconut trees and completely private for residents only. You will get a key for access, in addition , with your boat in back of the house it is a quick one minute ride to the bay and four minute ride to the ocean. You can go out be back for lunch at the house and go out again , it's that easy.
What amenities does the house have ?
Water toys, stand up paddle board, kayak for 2, ghanoe for 2 adults and one child, commercial ice machine, fish cleaning with chikee on top for sun protection with water and a light. Ample boat trailer parking, peace of mind of a safe family neighborhood, an owner manager that is on call 24/7 for whatever you may need.

This was a spectacular vacation! The house was clean and comfortable, and the location was quiet and the setting perfect. I could write a novel about the host and the house, but in a few words the host was always available to answer questions and give recommendations. Furthermore, the private beach was amazing, beautiful, and not over crowded. We watched the sunset here every night. I give this one of my highest ratings.

This was our perfect home away from home that we needed down in the keys. It was a perfect place to work virtually, and for the kids to attend school virtually. There were so many things to do outside that it was also a perfect way to get the kids unplugged. We kayaked and biked and ran and just soaked up the sun. The house was perfectly located away from any hustle, but close enough to good food and and things to do. (We kayaked to Indian Key, we went to the farmers market in Islamorada, visited the diving museum, went to numerous state parks, took a trip to the Everglades)Our host was amazing. He was so friendly and helpful and it really did feel like borrowing a house from a friend. The house and yard are beautifully maintained, and on a couple of chilly days and rainy days it was relaxing to just be there.Would go again in a heartbeat.

EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE, CLEAN, CHEERFUL AND LOVELY HOME. Beautiful layout with lots of windows allowing natural lighting in. Loved the furniture layout with plenty of seating. Beds very comfortable with luxurious white linens. Over abundance of towels and the owners keep cupboards stocked with very detailed items to anticipate your every need. This was my first Home rental experience and I’m afraid Orlando has set the bar exceptionally high! Owners are very receptive, generous, polite and helpful. Close to many fine restaurants, supermarket. Good location for day trips to explore the keys. Private paradise beach within walking distance. We spent time with our adult sons and am grateful for this opportunity to reconnect, decompress, enjoy the sunshine and be together again. Thank you Abella family.

We stayed at Villa Marlin for 2 weeks this June and it was wonderful! The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need for the perfect vacation. The ice machine and bait freezer were a real plus! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen is equipped with all the gadgets needed to cook up a fabulous meal. Orlando, the owner, is great! He answered all our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend Villa Marlin if you want a great vacation in the Florida Keys!

My friends and I (total 6 adults) rented this beautiful home for a birthday celebration. The home is absolutely beautiful and in close proximity too many features within the Keys. The house has water craft and bikes for use which where a wonderful asset. A bonus of the week was a manatee came to the dock (at the house) and hung out with us for about 30 minutes. The owner was awesome to work with and met us at the rental car facility in Miami to get the keys. Very smooth interaction. Would definitely recommend this place!

I am SO glad I found this website and this house! After hours spent reviewing properties on other websites and then trying to ask questions through email, it was great to be able to talk directly to the owner on the phone. Booking was easy and everything was amazing when we got there. The design and decoration of the house makes it feel so open and relaxing. We loved the kayaks, bikes, and private beach--everything really is as great as the pictures. Orlando and his wife were traveling in Europe during our stay and still they checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. A week in this little nook of paradise wasn't enough!

The stay was nothing less than perfect! Orlando & his family were such wonderful hosts. Upon arriving at the airport- Orlando greeted us with such a friendly demeanor with wanting us to enjoy every minute. He gave us recommendations based on what we wanted- every one was better than expected from a spa to happy hour to boating he provided us with the best and all on a budget.Upon arrival the home was exactly what the pictures show with the most comfortable beds to get well rested. The kayaks, bikes, hammocks and private beach created a resort style living but gave you the feeling of home.Orlando & his wife have the home fully stocked with everything and answered the phone when we called to ensure we were taking care of.The private beach is worth it. All of the boats came and docked some days to be very fun in the sun where other days we were the only ones and enjoyed the peace & quiet. We also could kayak to The private beach which is also on the Gulf side.We will be back in the winter because of how much we loved it. This home has everything to offer for the fisherman and the rest of the family as well. Boat dock with easy access to the gulf. Private beach within walking distance. Kayaks, bicycles, beautifully furnished home. Comfortable beds and plenty of linens. Great kitchen, fully equipped. So nice to come home to after a day on the water.
