RSW is the closest airport, only about half an hour from central Cape Coral. Punta Gorda (PGD) is another option about 45 minutes north.
Confirm the depth at low tide, the lift’s weight limit, and weather because a fixed low bridge sits between the canal and open water. You can launch a trailered boat at the public ramps at Horton Park or the Yacht Club for a day fee.
The canal network is idle-speed or no-wake to protect seawalls and wildlife. To fish from your dock or boat, you’ll need a fishing license. There are freshwater, saltwater, and combination licenses, depending on where you’re fishing.
