Daytona Beach stretches from the Atlantic Ocean across the Halifax River to the mainland, where Daytona International Speedway hosts its famous racing events. It’s a lively beach city, with quieter Ormond Beach to the north and Daytona Beach Shores to the south.
Many airlines such as American, Delta, JetBlue, Avelo, and Breeze fly non-stop to DAB. It's domestic only, so for more routes, Orlando International (MCO) is about an hour away.
You can also drive and park right on much of the Daytona Beach sand for a daily fee. Getting around by car is easier, but VOTRAN buses also run from the airport and around the island.
On Daytona 500, Bike Week, and Biketoberfest weeks, rates and traffic climb and minimum stays may get longer, so book early. Stays are cheaper during peak hurricane season in September and also during shoulder months.
The beachside is an island, reached only by a handful of Halifax River bridges, and they back up fast on the Daytona 500, Bike Week, Biketoberfest, and spring-break weekends. Leave extra time for travel.
