Vero Beach is a breath of fresh Florida air

Most of the cities on the “Treasure Coast” of Florida have been over-developed over the years. High rises, tourist traps, tacky souvenir shops, and bustling boardwalks rule the day. It’s hard to have space and privacy. It’s hard to appreciate nature and truly relax. Unless you’re staying in Vero Beach!

Halfway between Jacksonville and Miami, Vero Beach has been named one of America’s “Best Arts Towns” and is the perfect location for golf, watersports, and many other activities throughout the year.

Here, no building can rise above four stories. Here, the feeling is more like a lazy seaside village than a buzzing hot spot (in a good way.) Here you won’t be sitting in traffic, and you definitely won’t be waiting for a table.

You’ll also be saving money when staying in one of our Vero Beach vacation rentals instead of hotel, you’ll have much more space and privacy, plus cost savings when booking a property for a large group. Use the filters to narrow down your choices and choose the rental that fits your trip.

Climate

Like all of Florida, this city is beautiful year round! This area features a humid subtropical climate, with hot and humid summers and warm, sunny, and dry winters. The average annual temperature is 73 °F, with an annual high temperature of 81 °F and an annual low temperature of 64 °F. Chances are strong you’ll be able to lay out, get out, and enjoy all the outdoor activities offered here.

Don’t forget to bring your sunglasses and sunscreen. At the best Vero Beach cottage rentals they may even provide these amenities for you!

Top activities and attractions

You’re visiting this town for, you guessed it, the beaches! It’s the best part of the area. There are three main public beaches here. South Beach, accessible at the eastern end of State Road 656 at the eastern end of 17th Street; Humiston Park, in Central Beach Business District on Ocean Drive and Jaycee Park which is adjacent to Conn Beach. These beaches are lifeguard protected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

There are 26 miles of oceanfront shore in Indian River County. There are other free public access trails and walkways with beach access, such as Riomar Beach, Sea Cove, Sea Grape Trail, Sexton Plaza, and Turtle Trail.

The Indian River Lagoon, passing through Vero Beach, forms a significant portion of the Intracoastal Waterway, and is a hub for boating, fishing, water skiing, diving, kayaking and other small-craft waterborne activities.

You may also have heard of Vero Beach as the site of Dodgertown, the spring training location for the Los Angeles Dodgers. It served as the team’s home for 60 years, and is now an ideal setting to build a championship team, host tournaments, camps, schools, business conferences or seminars. Dodgertown houses the 6,500-seat Holman Stadium as well as concessions, clubhouses and dining room, weight rooms, and a competition-size swimming pool.

Love golf? You’re in luck. There are 22 golf courses in the area including three municipal courses and 15 private and semi-private courses. Public courses include The Club at Pointe West is a semi-private club affiliated with Arnold Palmer Golf Management. Sandridge Municipal Golf Course features two 18-hole courses, The Dunes and The Lakes courses.

If you’re here looking for culture, you won’t be short changed. The Vero Beach Museum of Art, a 55,000 square foot museum and the largest cultural arts facility of its kind. Indian River County's 26-acre Riverside Park is an art museum and educational institution providing public enrichment through educational, studio art and humanities programs. If you love OJ, the Citrus Museum displays artifacts, photographs and memorabilia of the pioneers of the citrus industry.

Events

The community hosts diverse special events throughout the year.
