Unique Benefits
Why stay at the hotel when you can truly make yourself at home at The Artist's Loft? Everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation is included, and you're only a 3-minute walk directly to the beach path which includes showers for rinsing off after a salty day at the beach. Also within walking distance are several of the best restaurants in Delray including Cafe Luna Rosa, 50 Ocean (which overlooks the beach and ocean), or the Sand Bar where you can enjoy cocktails under the Tiki Bar and play a little cornhole for fun. Delray Beach has something for everyone. When you need a night to rest, you'll be comfortable in this Artist / Owner's condominium that features her artwork and works of art she has collected on her many journeys around the world. Watch the Smart TV in the living room or in the Master Bedroom. Read a book on the front porch, or in the private lounge/office area. Get a great night's sleep in either of the two bedrooms with high-quality furniture and comfortable queen mattresses. Make your own coffee and breakfast, or a fabulous dinner in the fully equipped "Gourmet Kitchen". Now you can't do that in a hotel room!
Why Kids Love It
My condo is not suitable for toddlers.
Area Information
Delray Beach is unique from other beach towns north and south of Ft. Lauderdale, FL because there are no high-rise buildings on the beach. Only natural beauty abounds - thus our "Blue Flag" distinction. Spend the day by the water's edge swimming in the warm water, and dine "al fresco" in the evening on "The Avenue", Delray's main street with shops, galleries, restaurants, and bars with live music. Nearby you'll find some of Florida's best ocean-side golf courses, both 9-hole and 18-hole; the Morikami Japanese Gardens, Loxahatchee wetlands, The Norton Museum of Art, and Boca Raton Museum of Art, to name only a sampling. Named "Best Village By The Sea".
Attractions Within Walking Distance
THE BEACH! Did I mention this is a 3-minute walk to the beach? :-)).
Just before you reach the beach you'll find the Sandoway Discovery Center where they have a Shark pool and other creatures from the ocean. Daily shark feedings are amazing to watch!
Also, a great little mini-golf course called "Puttin Around" is nearby - better to take a golf-cart style taxi unless you'd like a 15-20 minute walk there. They have a full-service bar, excellent music, and you can have your cocktails brought right to the green! Loads of laughs and fun.
Newly opened Delray Marketplace is within a 10-15 minute walk and features street food venders, a gallery, and other delights - all within walking distance from The Artist's Loft.
Favorite Places To Eat
Delray really has so many great restaurants! I'd recommend (within walking distance) Cafe Luna Rosa (authentic Italian), 50 Ocean (for the happy hour - older crowd), J&J Seafood (just over the Intracoastal bridge), Dada (an eclectic menu, and outdoor dining under the trees) Racks (seafood, great happy hour, $$$), Tramonte (Italian $$$$). Too many more to list!
Inside Scoop
Bedner's Market. This is a 5 minute drive from The Artist's Loft, and is the place to shop for your fresh veggies, salads, Bo-Go wines, freshly baked bread, seafood, and organic meat offerings. Great prices, fresh local and seasonal fruits and veg - a must if you like to cook!

About the owner: Hello there! I'm a landscape artist, an oil painter, who loves painting "Plein Air" and in my studio. I grew up in the lakes region of New Hampshire, and there is where my love of nature was born. I've been an artist since a teen, attended The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where I received my BFA and MFA. A retired Art Educator, having worked overseas for about 20 years, mostly in Switzerland, and then a short stint in Bali, Indonesia, so I've traveled a lot as a result, I think to over 45 countries now!
In The Artist's Loft you'll find original paintings of mine as well as art that I have collected over the years of traveling around the world.
I am retired now, and I'm enjoying having the time to paint, and cooking, being in nature, bird watching, Jazz and most all styles of music. A little known fact about me: I used to play the saxophone, but had to give it up in order to practice painting. :-)
Why this property? Thanks for your interest in The Artist's Loft in Delray Beach, Florida.
You might be wondering about the name of my property, and yes, I am an artist - an oil painter, and I worked for over 20 years internationally as an art educator. I moved back to the US in 2014 to be nearer my father who was living on the West coast of Florida. I rented a small flat in this neighborhood for two months, and when it came time to move out, I had fallen in love with Delray Beach and the neighborhood, so I decided to buy a place if I could find something. Lucky was I to find this great condo just a block away from where I was staying.
I'm now semi-retired from teaching, working here and there teaching retirees how to paint, and that affords me time to work in my home studio nearby.
Originally from New Hampshire, I vowed I'd never live in Florida - mostly because of the flat landscape - but never say never! You can't beat the weather, and the beautiful beach in Delray. I'm one lucky artist!
