Each beachside community on the Panhandle has its own feel. The West End houses more peaceful and nature-focused neighborhoods, while the East End features impressive architecture and upscale dining. It only takes about 30 to 45 minutes to get from end-to-end, so a weeklong trip lets you explore mul
Destin–Fort Walton Beach (VPS) is about an hour from the west end, and Panama City (ECP) about 35 minutes from Inlet Beach.
At the county's public access points a tent may be no larger than 10 by 10 feet and an umbrella no larger than 8 by 8. Tents go on the upland half of the beach, and a four-foot walkway is left between them.
Nests are marked, and no fire may be lit within 200 feet of one. Additionally, a beach bonfire needs a permit from the South Walton Fire District, and visitors go through a permitted vendor rather than applying themselves.
Walton County's beach ordinance sets the no spring-break curfew and no beach alcohol ban. The 30A communities set their own, and in recent years Seaside has run an evening curfew for unaccompanied under-18s in its commercial area through the season.
