About the Property
Enjoy year-round comfortable climate with lots of sunshine, surf and ocean breeze. A short walk to sunrise over the Atlantic or sunset over the Halifax River, (Intercoastal Waterway).
Filtered soft water throughout house flows from city main though our purification system.
Livingroom is open to well equipped kitchen and dinette with 4 chairs. Sliding glass doors seperate the kitchen from Florida room, which has a drop-leaf table and 4 more chairs, queen pull-out sofa, leather chair and ottoman.
One bedroom has king bed, dresser and 2 chests of drawers, TV, dvd player. The second bedroom has queen bed, dresser, chest of drawers, desk, chair and TV.
One bath has tub with shower, the other bath has walk-in shower. Towels are furnished.
Roomy laundry & utility room features front load washer and dryer, iron,vacuum, steam mop, more.
Outdoor furniture is provided, along with 3 bicycles a utility wagon, beach umbrellas, rafts, beach towels for enjoying the outdoors and ocean.
A variety of books, games, dvd collections are provided for your enjoyment also.
Tropical gardens surround the cottage, adding to the cozy, relaxed atmosphere and privacy.
Everything needed for a fun and comfortable place to relax for all ages. Handicapped accessible, with all on one level, even a new leather recliner/ lift chair. A short walk to community owned lot on the riverside, and a longer walk to the private beach and walkover structure on beach side.
Well equipped kitchen and laundry make it very easy to prepare meals and do laundry conveniently.
Quiet neighborhood with front and back patios, made private by lush tropical plants.

Near the beach and nearby parks. Bicycles, boogie boards and wagon on site. Pets welcome and fenced back yard to keep them safe.

Private lots owned by community HOA are available on the riverside with picnic furniture, and on other end of street is the private beach lot. The beach is now open, and our private structure to access the beach allows beach activities without the crowds❣️

About the owner: Mary Ann Silvey purchased this Cottage in 2008.
Having owned time share and visited Ormond Beach for many years, I found this cottage which met all my needs for retirement. However, I was elected to Town Council back in NC, and began renting the cottage when I could not be in Florida.
I grew up in Asheville and Lake Lure, NC. My family spent summers in Lake Lure, where my parents built the lake house that I currently live in there. I attended Buncombe County Schools, Western Carolina University, Sacramento State University and UNC-Greensboro. My career in education included teaching Home Economics, Science, Special Education and also 30+ years as a school counselor.
Why this property? This property is located in a friendly, safe residential community between the Inland Waterway and non-commercial beachfront. The Ormond Shores Estates Homeowner’s Association also owns private access lots on both the river(waterway) and beach, which provide private access to the water. The fenced back yard provide a private space to relax , enjoy sunshine, flower gardens and fruit trees, as well as safe space for my pets.

We really enjoyed our winter vacation here. Everything we needed was here and we were quite comfortable during our stay! Mary Ann was wonderful about keeping me up to date about our rental and wanting to know if there was anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.

It's perfect located close to everything and still allows you a sense of privacy and serenity.
This is a wonderfully comfortable 2 bedroom house, with everything in it that you could possibly want for a vacation, including bicycles and beach gear and if it's not there, Mary Anne the owner will get it for you! On a quiet friendly street close to the beach and a lovely garden as well, which our dog really enjoyed! The perfect place to come and relax and spend time on the beach.

I am accustomed to ratings of 5 stars, and am disappointed with anything less. Every possible effort to accommodate my guests is made to make their experience enjoyable. My Hideaway is a modest typical beach house, furnished and equipped for the comfort and convenience of myself and my guests, with many extras! I welcome feedback and suggestions for any improvements.
