Rent our home when we can’t use it. Our place will not disappoint. Only two miles to beach, walk to Publix and a very friendly community with a large pool. Barbecues by the pool, ready for you to use.
We have and offer a wonderfully maintained, clean unit with views of a golf course and a landscaped area. Situated on the first floor with the lanai facing East, the unit is filled with natural light and you can catch a breathtaking sunrise from the screened lanai.
Community amenities include a pool with a lap lane, tennis courts, a club house, shuffle board, billiards and more. It is an active winter community with social activities in the club house, water aerobics and social activities for those who enjoy that.
The location is ideal. You can walk to Publix and Target and you will find yourself only minutes away from the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. You are also close to the Waterside Shops (right down Pine Ridge Rd) and about 29 minutes from 5th Avenue. Although you need a car in Naples to get around, this is a condo where you do not actually have to fight your way in seasonal traffic if you want to pick up something at a grocery store.
We bought our second home in Naples in 2013 and spend summers (about seven weeks) and Christmas (about two weeks) there.
The kitchen was updated in 2017 with new cabinets and new counter tops. It is fully equipped with utensils, stove, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and microwave oven. New refrigerator, 2021.
The master bedroom, facing the golf course, has a queen bed. Walk in closet.
Master bathroom has a shower. This bathroom was updated in 2017 with a new vanity, new toilet and new floor tiles. There is a small TV in the bedroom.
Living room has a dining table, a sofa and an arm chair. There is a TV and DVD. TV is from 2021 and TV stand, chair and side table from 2024.
There is a second bedroom with two single beds (2013) and a guest bathroom with a tub. The bathroom was updated in 2019. The single beds can be moved together to form a big bed (king size) which our son does when we are there.
Common laundry area (never a problem to do a batch), just a few steps from the front door at a low cost per batch.
Turtle Lake is located in the heart of Naples at the crossing Pine Ridge Road and Airport Road. It is an older community with lush vegetation and new landscaping. In season, there are plenty of activities for those who want to join, such as hot dogs pool side Wednesdays, bingo, water aerobics.
We know a lot about Naples and if you would like, we are happy to recommend beaches, activities and places to eat.

Why this property? Johan has traveled to Naples for his summer breaks every summer since 1999, when he first came with his parents and brother. When he met Karin in 2010, they first came together in 2011 and got married on the beach. We know the area well and enjoy their summers in Florida off season.
Turtle Lake is our home away from home and will hopefully be where we retire in 17 years unless the sun in southern Italy wins. Until then, we will keep enjoying in as much as we can and would like to rent it to people who will treat is as their own.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do you like best about spending time in your condo?
The serenity - enjoying a cut of coffee and a slice of key lime pie on the lanai, watching birds and golfers
How close is the condo to stores and beaches?
We walk to Publix and Target. Walmart neighborhood market is about five-ten minutes by car from the condo.
The closest Gulf Beaches are within 10-15 minutes driving distance. Clam’s Pass is two miles from the condo.
Is there assigned parking?
Yes, right I front of the condo.
Is the pool heated?
Yes, the pool is heated.
Do we need to bring anything?
The condo is fully equipped and we spend about nine weeks there ourselves every year. There is also a starter kit with soap, detergent, toilet paper and kitchen paper towels to get you through the first couple of days.
How do we know this is not a scam?
There is a photo from the Collier County Tax Collector showing our tax bill among the photos. I can also supply a copy of the latest utility bill.
You may call Turtle Lake Golf Colony in Naples to verify ownership. We can also provide you with references in Naples.
There are a few key features to look for to distinguish a real vacation rental from a scammer:
1) Paid advertising. If a person has put down money for something, it reduces the chance that he/she is a scammer.
2) Original text on their ad and on their website that wasn't copied from others.
3) that rates are comparable with the other condos in the area. Naples is pricey in season.
4) Photos of the location as well as the condo.
5) virtually all condo rentals will need approval by the association. If you are not asked to apply and pay a fee, this may be a warning sign
As an added layer of security, you can always contact the Collier County property appraiser to confirm ownership.
What do we do if something malfunctions in the condo?
Simply call or text and we will get someone in there to take a look. Things do break from time to time. We try to stay proactive and replace things before needed, and have the a/c system serviced twice a year.
Is there cable and internet in the condo?
Yes, basic cable and basic internet is included.
Can I golf?
The golf course is not part of Turtle Lake but you can buy tee time. Contact Quail Run Golf Course for further information.
How do we get and return the keys?
If you are renting in January, we will meet you there personally and show you around before heading to the airport. Our friendly neighbor next door will collect the key and return your deposit after walking through the condo. If arriving when we are not there, the neighbor will let you in and show you around.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes, there is a fully refundable damage deposit of $ 500. We have not once needed to keep it.
Is there any practical information I need?
Yes, we have a small manual that will be mailed to you. Since we have a light carpet, we ask that you respect our wishes of not wearing outdoor shoes inside as melted tar from the parking lot and walk ways transfers onto the carpet.
Is there a washer and dryer?
Yes, but not inside the unit. The association does not allow for that due to the risk of water damage. There is, however, a laundry room about one from the condo on the first floor. There is a small charge for using the washer and dryer.
What is your cancellation policy?
Since we are dependent on booking the winter months well ahead of time, we allow for free cancellation less a fee if $ 500 up to six months ahead of time. If you cancel after that date, we will only refund what you have paid less $ 500 if we can find someone else who can rent the condo for that period. This has only happened once and we were able to find an alternative lease within a week.
How many TV:s are there?
There is a smart TV in the living room and a small flat screen TV in the master bedroom.
Why can I not rent only February?
Since our association requires a monthly lease and we spend the first few days of January there ourselves, we would not be able to rent the month of January unless February is included in the lease. If someone is interested in January only or really wants to spend all of January and February in our place, we may consider renting it too and spend the last nights of our stay in a hotel.
Why does the association require and application?
For your, our and the safety of neighbors. The association will quickly process the paper work and run a background check. This way, all is done to keep the are safe for everyone.
I have rented in Florida before and did not have to pay taxes. Why do you charge taxes?
Any rental shorter than six months is considered transient. The state of Florida carries a 6% sales tax and Collier County a 6% bed tax. This cannot be absorbed into the rate and needs to be paid by the guest and filed by us. Not charging taxes is illegal and not paying sales tax is a 3rd degree felony punishable with $ 5,000 in fines and five years in prison.
Can I bring my dog?
No, the association does not allow pets in the condos.

Great place to stay
Met the Swedish family who own the condo we stayed. They were very friendly and helpful about finding things and where to go in the area. Had a wonderful time away from the cold and snow back home. We will be staying again.

Hi Mark - It was a pleasure meeting you and we look forward to welcoming you again in January.
Wintered in Naples
We spent January and February 2020 in the condo. This condo is near everything a family would need, restaurants, grocery, parks and beaches. The area of Naples is the best kept cleanest town in Florida. We have wintered in Florida for 21 of the last 24 years trying different areas and this is the nicest. The condo is very clean well furnished and priced exactly where it should be. All the guests in the complex are friendly the pool and clubhouse is well maintained. The only reason it will be available next winter is we have family we are taking care of and cannot rebook.
