Island Conch Cottage
A quaint ground level conch style cottage located at the end of a private street in a very quiet setting. Cottage and grounds have privacy fence and gate. The grounds are displayed as a sand beach setting. This property has 60’ of canal frontage located on an extra wide canal and is less than 100’ from the ocean. Off the dock you will enjoy beautiful ocean views. The dock is equipped with furniture and a barbeque grill. It is a very short distance from some of the best offshore and back water fishing in the world. Minutes away from the # 2 and # 5 channels which are famous for the tarpon run. Minutes from Flamingo National Park and Offshore to the reef with numerous areas for fishing, diving and snorkeling. This property is best suited for 1 or 2 couples that want to relax and enjoy what the beautiful Florida Keys has to offer. Lower Matecumbe is a small island less than 5 miles in length with very little commercial real estate. On this island you will be able to relax and blend in with the locals.
In today’s times scheduling a getaway can be difficult. We are willing to work with you on that schedule, including duration of your stay, check-in and check-out times, pet’s will be considered on a per case basis. We enjoy a strong network with local marina’s, charter captain’s and business merchants. This might come in helpful when you are working on your vacation schedule. About the owner: George & Bonnie
We fell in love with the Florida Keys many years ago. We have rented and stayed in the Keys from Big Pine Key north to Key Largo and have always dreamt of owning our own place. George is a licensed builder and wife Bonnie have been involved in many residential restorations. 20 years ago we stumbled upon a ground level conch style home in need of a great deal of work. After a long thought process we decided to purchase and renovate this home. Today, after years of work, we are proud of our island home. We welcome you to enjoy this very unique, very private home.
Why this property? With our experience vacationing in the Florida Keys we found ourselves wanting to truly enjoy an Island living lifestyle. We definitely have it on Lower Matecumbe Key, an island less than 5 miles in length. There is little commercial real estate with a very close community. It is a place where visitors blend in with the locals. We believe this is the best island in the Florida Keys if one wants to be truly enjoy the island living experience

This is my fourth year visiting Islamorada. Something that I look forward to each year. And every year I book this Cottage , I won't stay anywhere else!! It's always clean. If there is anything you need or any questions you may have the owners are always just a phone call or text away.The neighborhood is quiet the neighbors are very friendly and great fishing right from the dock guaranteed! We caught dinner within 30 minutes after unpacking!!Manatees visited the dock daily! No, i wont stay any where else in the Keys but here!!

This has all that you need for 4 people. Great boat dock for those that have one or will rent a boat. Super easy access to ocean and the same for gulf side. You can fish any wind because of the location. Wading the flats is 1/2mile north for those who fly fish. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Great little restaurant is 200 yards away not to mention great good and drinks in abundance both north and south. Day trip to Key West should be on your agenda. Kitchen has all your needs. Well worth taking advantage of this location as we had a great 5 days!!

This cottage offers all as advertised. Outstanding views Nice well appointed bedrooms and baths. Well equipped kitchen. Very nice outdoor cooking and eating area. The hosts are easily available and prompt to reply. Perfect for snowbirds!

My wife and I rented this house for an entire month. Met all our needs and the location is hands down the best for fishing & lobstering (our primary objective). Afternoon cocktails on the dock is a daily ritual. Manatees would show up like clock work. Quiet street. Neighbors are friendly. Easy walk to Caloosa Cove for any needs from the convenience store. Only drawback for us was no washer or dryer. We rigged a clothesline for drying purposes but still needed to use the laundry mat in Islamorada for washing clothes. Otherwise I would rate 5 stars. George & Bonnie were prompt to respond if we had a question or issue. Would definitely book again. Thank you for sharing your home!

This is the third year that I've visited Florida Keys. And again , I chose to stay at this Island Conch Cottage located in Lower Matecumbe Key. The home is always clean, neighbors are always friendly the neighborhood is always quiet and the fish are always biting!The home also has a bait room with a deep freezer which came in very handy for storing all the fish we caught fishing from the dock right off the patio of the home. The owners Bonnie and George are always available for any questions that you may have and return phone calls promptly. Also, once you check in they will check with you to make sure everything is okay and that you are comfortable. Each year I look forward to returning, this home never disappoints.This is the place to be!!

This is the second time we stayed at this island conch Cottage, this is a beautiful home the neighborhood is very quiet and the locals are always friendly. We caught a variety of snapper just off the patio dock. I would recommend this home for a couple or two that want to experience great fishing and rest and relaxation. The owners are always very nice and available for any questions and always return calls promptly. Our Second Time Around vacationing in lower matecumbe key at this beautiful home was even better than the first!!!
