On Fort Myers Beach (Estero Island), 4 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath Villa, 7 minutes stroll from the lovely 7 mile long sandy beach.

LOCATION / WEATHER / GULF
It is situated on the narrow Fort Myers Beach (FMB) otherwise known as Estero Island. Don't worry there is road/bridge access at both ends of the island. Being on the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida and with FMB being reasonably sheltered and shallow, the sea really is warm. In the hotter months of July and August it is almost like getting into a bath, beating even the Caribbean.

BEACH
The villa is located on a no-through street in a quiet neighborhood. To get to the beach is an 7 minute saunter down to the end of the road and to Estero Boulevard. The public beach access is just to the left of our street (see photos). All the beach / sunset photos on this site are taken from the beach at this point directly across the road. We love the beach just here, there are no large hotels nearby and we have never had a case where we couldn't pick the spot we wanted to camp up for the day. For the beach we are all prepared for you – there are beach chairs, umbrellas, mats, floats and a trolley for you to transport it all. There are also bicycles as this is a lovely way to see the island.

POOL & DECK
If you prefer to relax by a pool, one of the main features of the villa is its private 33 foot infinity edge, south-facing swimming pool. This is at the rear of the property and gives onto the canal providing, all in all, a very secluded private area where you can really enjoy the outdoor Florida lifestyle. We have everything you need for the pool and deck with proper pool loungers, floats and pool toys for the kids. The pool itself has a shallow end of 3’6” increasing to around 4’6” at about two thirds along the pool. This is for relaxing and playing in but the pool does also have a proper deep end and is big enough to do laps in. At the shallow end there is a full width bench seat with 3 water jets which you can adjust to gently massage your lower back as you relax in the pool with a drink. It is a SALT pool - easier on sensitive skin.

PRIVATE DOCK
This is multipurpose.
Guests use it for sunbathing, fishing (we have SOME equipment), or free mooring. Several recent guests have brought their own boat or found local boat rental companies and rented a boat. Our dock is 13 houses from the backbay and there is direct gulf access in both directions, North to Sanibel or South to Bonita Springs. There is space to store your boat trailer under the villa and there are free local boat ramps at Lover's Key.

DOLPHIN VISITS
If you hear a large splash from the canal it is NOT (as we first thought) one of the neighbors who has fallen in, but a dolphin. They regularly chase down fish into the canal at the front of the pool and they can get quite animated when they pounce on the cornered fish. If you miss them when they arrive, they HAVE to come back past to get back to the sea, usually around 10 minutes later – great photo opportunity.

Area Information

Fort Myers Beach (Estero Island) is long and thin with the beach running the whole 7 miles length of the island on the south side. So you are NEVER far from the beach. The villa is in a quiet residential area on a no-through street.

The beach, restaurants and other local amenities are within easy reach.
Fort Myers Beach also offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, cycling and golf.
We will provide all our latest recommendations for the area.

Times Square (center of town) and Margaritaville are at the northern end of the island.

Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is approximately 21 miles away.

Currently number 1 on Tripadvisor for restaurants on Fort Myers Beach. JUST over the main bridge at the top of the island. Whenever we have been there it has been busy with a great atmosphere and so probably best to arrive early if you go in the evening. Great views over the back bay.

This used to be a few minutes’ walk at the end of our road, but, post Ian, has relocated further south on the island next to Snook Bight Marina. We haven’t been since relocation but menu looks exactly the same and the reviews continue to be excellent. Fairly expensive as far as Fort Myers Beach restaurants go but the quality is worth it. Currently rated #10 of restaurants on Fort Myers Beach according to Tripadvisor. I had scallops to die for at our last visit.

Believe this has the same owners as the Fresh Catch Bistro above and it has, likewise, relocated from the beach to “below deck” near the Marina. Pizzas here are still excellent.

Inside Scoop

Love Boat Ice Cream
The BEST premium homemade ice cream in the area. They are a little way off island to the north at 16475 San Carlos Blvd, Fort Myers, straight off the bridge at the top of the island, just over 10 minutes drive from our place. It makes a good stop on the way to or from Bunche Beach or shopping. Beware if you have children, this is so popular with my daughter that we usually have to go several times a week!
