THE SPACE:
Centrally located, "Sangria Suite" is a modern and spacious studio that sleeps up to 4, with a "Queen over Queen" bunk bed, one full bathroom, and access to a shared balcony overlooking historic 7th Ave. Stocked with cooking supplies, fresh linens, and complimentary coffee, this flat is designed with you in mind to make your stay comfortable and stress free.
Located on the second floor, this studio apartment offers stunning architecture, including 11 foot ceilings and large windows to make the most of the Florida sunshine. The open concept kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a Keurig coffee machine with complimentary coffee supplies for your stay. The full bathroom is stocked with high end toiletries and fresh linens! In the living area you'll find comfy queen bunk bed, a comfortable sitting area and a Smart TV for you to enjoy all your favorite streaming services.
This property was constructed in 1908 and was known as the Buchman Department Store from 1914 to 1991. Although the building has since been converted into gorgeous studio-lofts and a hub for local businesses, you can still catch a glimpse of the old "Buchman Store" sign from 7th Avenue.
GUEST ACCESS:
Guests will receive a 4-digit access code that opens the door to the unit and an additional access code to enter the building.
There is a common area laundry room just a few steps down the hall from Havana Hideaway. The laundry is coin operated and there is a change machine available for guest use. Each load is $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
Founded in the 1880s, the Historic Ybor City district is well known for its eclectic collection of culture and countless cigar factories in which the city was named, for Don Vincent Martinez Ybor. Take a stroll down the original red brick streets and step into a piece of history. Indulge in a comedy show at The Improv, dine at the historic Columbia Restaurant or explore the local shops, bars, and artisans that make the Ybor community so rich!
GETTING AROUND:
Ybor City is famous for the street trolley system and its iconic bright yellow trolleys - it's free, runs every 15 minutes and has many stops throughout Ybor, Downtown Tampa and Sparkman Wharf! Ybor City is a very walkable neighborhood however, there are also self-service bicycles and electric scooters available for rent in the area via any of the scooter rental apps. (Bird, Uber, Lime, etc.) If you are planning on exploring the Greater Tampa Bay Area, there are many car rental storefronts at the airport and in the surrounding area! Tampa and Ybor City have a plethora of street parking, garage parking and pay by app parking.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
- Smoking: Smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited inside the unit and anywhere on the property. There will be a $500 fee charged to guests who do not obey this rule.
- As previously mentioned, Havana Hideaway is located in the heart of Ybor, which is known for its vibrant nightlife, so you will experience loud noise from time to time, especially during the weekend. If you would prefer to stay in a more toned-down area, please message us so we can point you in the right direction!
- PETS: We are pet-friendly! Our pet fee is $50 per pet, per stay. We expect all owners to pick up after their pets and supply their own waste bags. Any damages caused by your animal will result in additional fees. You must notify us if you are bringing your pet!
- PARKING ADVISORY: the free parking lot associated with this unit is called the "Roseinheim Lot" and is located 2.5 blocks away from the apartment building. The distance is 0.3 miles and is a short a 7 minute walk. There is a city owned pay for parking lot at the actual apt building that you can park at briefly while you unpack your bags and grab the parking pass hanger from the room. The Rosenheim Lot is located at 2209 E 9th Ave.

KaraGreat spot for Ybor’s fantastic food scene and nightlife! The balcony was fantastic for people watching and despite being in the heart of everything, as soon as you close the door it’s quiet and peaceful inside. While being a studio, it is incredibly spacious and comfortable, with a completely functional kitchen, despite not really needing it due to all the amazing restaurants nearby. We would totally stay here again!

Ernst H.I loved my stay at the Sangria Suite. The loft/flat was very clean and had all the comforts of home while being squarely situated in one of Tampa's most colorful neighborhoods. Restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and eclectic shops were literally at my doorstep. I grew up in Tampa and spent a lot of time on 7th Ave, so it was very cool to be able to make it my neighborhood for the weekend. And I finally got to sit on one of those balconies overlooking La Septima/Setima.

StephanieThe original unit we were in had not been cleaned when we arrived (food and debris on the floor and stovetop, dirty linens piled on the bed, no towels or toilet paper), but Tom called me back with 5 minutes of my original phone call in the middle of the night, and was able to immediately get me into a unit in the same building. He went above and beyond and refunded the cost of the first night of our stay. The new unit was pristine, very comfortable, and we had a great stay. The original unit not being cleaned on time was obviously a miscommunication and not the status quo. The location of the condo is in the heart of Ybor City's nightlife and was perfect for our visit!
