Our comfortable historic pool home was originally built as a Church. Now, it is a private oasis! We are 25 minutes from beautiful Gulf beaches, and only 1 hour from Disney. Busch Gardens is also less than half an hour away. Quick access to Raymond James Stadium. Enjoy our beautifully landscaped private pool, and walk to Starbucks and other local restaurants. Dogs welcome with pre-approval from your hosts. We would love to welcome you to our clean and cozy home. No cleaning fees! ;-)

Our pool home is beautifully landscaped, and the private pool is heated for year 'round use. We are also VERY dog friendly. We are close to both theme parks and beaches. . . it is the perfect location for a vacation to central Florida. South Tampa is the most sought after area of Tampa, and there are very few vacation rentals in this area. Visitors love the walkability to restaurants and shops, and the neighborly feeling.

Why Kids Love It

The heated pool is good for swimming year'round. And the upstairs bedroom is a perfect getaway for up to 4 kids. We supply toys, games, and books. We also have a portable crib onsite.

Area Information

Historic Palma Ceia is a walkable neighborhood in Tampa. Our home is one of the oldest structures in our historic neighborhood! This vacation rental is close to restaurants, ice cream, and coffee shops. You can take your morning walk on nearby Bayshore Boulevard. The house is convenient to the beach and also Orlando theme parks.

Bayshore Blvd:
Bayshore Blvd is a few blocks from our home. It boasts the longest contiguous sidewalk in the country, and is a good place for walking, running, or biking.
Gulf Beaches:
Our home is located less than 30 minutes from the nearest Gulf Beaches. St. Pete’s Beach is the closest. There are also several municipal, county and state parks at the beach.
Busch Gardens:
Busch Gardens is large theme park located about 25-30 minutes away (North on I-275). It has a large open-area zoo, and many roller coasters and other rides.
Orlando Theme Parks:
Disney World is approximately one hour from our home. The fastest route is to take the Selmon Expressway from Bay to Bay, and from there take the Interstate 4 connector. The exit for Magic Kingdom is at Mile 58. I-4 can be congested near Tampa and Orlando during rush hours.
Local Supermarket and Pharmacy
Publix at Britton Plaza is the closest supermarket. There is a small pharmacy inside Publix. Across the street (S. Dale Mabry) from Britton Plaza is a Walgreens and Chase bank. One-half block from the house on Bay-to-Bay is a convenience store called Bay-to Bay Market. They have drinks and beer, and a small grocery, etc.

Starbucks: Starbucks is located in the strip mall across Bay to Bay on the corner of Concordia.
Buddy Brew: Tampa based coffee shop, located on Bay to Bay between Concordia and Bayshore.
Kelp: Kelp is an excellent sushi restaurant located in the same strip mall as Starbucks
Louis Pappas: is a very good (and locally well-known) casual Greek restaurant, also in the same strip mall as Starbucks and Kelp.
Cappy’s Pizza: Cappy’s is also a few blocks away on Bay to Bay. Cappy’s has a nice nostalgic atmosphere, and excellent pizza. They also have a large beer selection. They are cash only.
Pinky’s: Pinky’s is across the street from Cappy’s. They are open for breakfast and lunch only. They do not take reservations, and there is usually a wait on weekend mornings. They have an excellent breakfast menu.
Chill Bros: Tampa based gourmet ice cream located next door to Buddy Brew (see above). They have vegan options.
Byblos: Byblos is on the corner of Bay to Bay and MacDill. They have Lebanese/Mediterranean style cuisine. They also have outdoor seating, and they occasionally have belly dancers. Their cocktails are the best in Tampa
Flame: Flame is across MacDill from Datz and Dough. It is an okay Indian restaurant. It is a little more expensive than other Indian restaurants in South Tampa. If you love Indian food, we think Curry Leaves, which is located in the parking lot of the Westshore mall is the best.
BT: BT is also located on MacDill off Bay to Bay. BT is an excellent upscale Asian fusion restaurant.
Across from Britton Plaza on South Dale Mabry, there is a strip mall with a: Buffalo Wild Wings, Broken Egg, and a few other places.. There is also Gelato stand there. There is a Yogurtology on the corner of MacDill and Gandy.
Barbecue. We like BJs Alabama Barbecue on S. Dale Mabry. Also good are The Deviled Pig (S. Dale Mabry) and Jimbos (Kennedy Blvd).
There is a collection of menus for local restaurants in the kitchen in the small window on the wall next to the laundry room. Most of these places deliver through DoorDash, GrubHub or Uber Eats.

Inside Scoop

Palma Ceia is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Tampa. Our home was originally built as a Church, but it was converted into a single family home in the 1930s. And it was completely remodeled about 20 years ago. Because it was built as a Church, our original living dining area is much bigger than in historically comparable homes. The house also has very good juju. ;-)
