AlexanderPositive: My family of six (four adults and two children) stayed at Tropical Oasis 809 for two weeks. This is a cozy two-bedroom apartment (#809) located in a two-story building that houses eight rental units. There is no reception in the building. The location is fantastic - just a scenic 12-minute walk to both the Central Ave beach and the charming Old Town area (5th Ave). If you prefer to drive, Lowdermilk Park Beach offers convenient public paid parking. The apartment’s kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, although it lacks an electric kettle. Additional amenities include an iron, hair dryer, and access to a shared washing machine and dryer (you’ll receive a code for entry). Each unit also has its own numbered parking spot. There is also an inflatable mattress for two adults stored in the wardrobe. We didn’t use it, but it can be set up in the kitchen area if needed - a useful option for extra guests. While the apartment isn’t brand new and could require a few minor repairs, it was overall comfortable. I do wish the mattresses were more supportive. There is a low-rated review on Booking.com mentioning bugs. On our first day, I found and killed three cockroaches (one large, two small) in different rooms. To be safe, I placed black Combat roach baits, and we didn’t see any other insects after that. As in Miami Beach, large cockroaches are common outdoors and may occasionally find their way inside. When we arrived around 8:30 PM, the AC wasn’t working, but after I messaged the owner, it was fixed within two hours - a prompt and appreciated response.Check-in is straightforward: you’ll receive detailed instructions and a door code one day before your reservation begins. All in all, the apartment offers good value for the price. I’m giving it 10 stars to support the owner.

DaisyOnce we arrived, the door didn't open, had to call few times the property manager to unlock it. There was a small roach in the bathroom. The furniture seems that all came from a thrift store, although was clean. We got disturbed many times by unruly kids running and jumping at the pool, screaming. Won't come back

DanielleBEWARE. Dirty, bug infested, broke down property Positive: BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION AND OWNER. I disliked everything about this location. This place is awful it's dirty, and bug infested, with broken sharp tiles on the floor. It has a broken vanity with nails sticking out, broken bathroom sink drain with clumps of hair and debris sticking out, dirty floor rugs, dirty dishes, and dirty/smelly linens with yellow and blue stains. We were unable to use the kitchen because bugs were crawling all over any food items put out. Vacated property early after seeing cockroaches. I was unable to contact property manager, never received any reply to texts and emails. Filed a complaint with booking.com and received no help from them. I tried to contact the owner on the first day but once he had my money he didn't care about our comfort or safety. I have pictures of everything and I am working with a lawyer. Negative: To the owner of Tropical Oasis and booking.com- You ruined my vacation with my mom, and I will never be able to get that time back. I tried to reach out in the beginning and things could have been different but your refusal to respond told me that you just don't care about people staying in your property. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

EmilyWe stayed in room 809. Ground level. Pros:The apartment was clean. Host was responsive, location is great for walking to the beach (less than a mile) walking to 5 th ave (.5 miles) very close to wynns market. Cons:This appeared to be the only apartment without a screened patio. It was VERY musty smelling. So much so, that I have to wash EVERYTHING now that I'm home, it's very noticeable. Airing out my suitcases as well. I couldn't open the living room windows because there weren't screens. The bed linens were poor quality, terrible flat pillows, not a single dish towel, broken tp holder, decor needs updating. Not a deck of cards or anything to do on a rainy day. Pool is not heated, I didn't see one person in the pool the entire time we were there. The fire pit area was a mess. note that you are sharing 1 washer and dryer with the entire complex. This said, I can't speak for the other apartments.
