Deep water access to the gulf with stunning views all the way (no bridges). Sitting on the dock is a great way to pass the time watching fish, manatees, otters, dolphins, turtles and birds. Enjoy the view, the kayaks or canoe (at your own risk), the springs, the well-equipped house and the laid back vibes of Homosassa.
Large dock for your boat with direct access to the gulf. Kayaks are available for guests (at their own risk), the head spring is a quick kayak trip away. Beautiful, clear springs are a great place to see manatees, snorkel, dive, swim and paddle!
Fully equipped kitchen and bedrooms for up to 8 guests. Large enough for snowbirds to have family visit during their stay and cozy enough for two! Spacious corner lot for backyard games. Fire pit and ample seating on the dock, lanai and deck. Bring your reusable water bottles for our reverse osmosis system!

About the owner: We are Floridians and have been "stay-cationing" in Homosassa for many years and have often dreamt of owning a vacation house here. We know first hand that our guests will have many happy memories here!
Why this property? Troy has been an avid fisher from an early age and this property is amazing for others that are passionate about fishing! Nancy loves nature, snorkeling and kayaking. Having a deep-water canal in your backyard opens up many opportunities for adventures for water sports and fishing and for those who prefer to stay close to land, it offers many wildlife viewing opportunities.

The house was very well set up with kitchen utensil, great grill, plenty of outside space with chairs. The space inside was plentiful. The host was great easy to get in touch with, very helpful with boat ramp info. Would definitely go here again. Easy access to Gulf.

Nancy and Troy are great hosts. They thought of all the little things that might make a stay enjoyable and checked in to make sure we had what we needed.We visited Florida to cycle, kayak, visit beaches, and enjoy the weather. This home fit our needs perfectly. We also tried paddle boarding and fishing. It was so convenient for everything. We visited many of the state parks. Homosassa Springs State Park was within walking distance. There were also good restaurants close by with seating by the water.This felt like our ‘home away from home’. Nancy and Troy had the home set up with all the things that might be needed from towels to dishes to starter supplies to kayaks and more. The back patio was a wonderful place to spend time. We found the location to be very relaxing and enjoyable. In addition, we had a lot of visitors – otters, manatees, herons, kestrels, turtles, and many fish. It was an awesome experience to just sit and watch all of them.We are excited and plan to be return visitors. Thanks to Nancy and Troy for a great time!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sonny Springs. The home is bright, nicely laid out and very clean. We had everything we needed - from kitchen utensils to kayaks! The location is quite private and peaceful and yet any shopping we needed to do was just down the road. We spent a lot of time outside even though it was August. There is good shade in the yard and the screened porch always had a breeze. The boat dock was more than ample for our 26' boat with water and electric readily available. We enjoyed going to the springs, which is right around the corner and scalloping in the gulf, which is not too far. We had our kids and grandkids come to visit and made many wonderful memories. We are planning on returning next year!

Staying for a couple of months I got to know the area which has a lot to offer. Troy and Nancy have the house set up great. The amount of cooking equipment indoor and outdoor met all my needs. The kayaks were very useful I enjoyed using them on a daily basis. The wildlife there is amazing. Using the boat lift and having a great boat dock was awesome. Which I used a lot. All of my guest found the rooms and house to be clean and well planned out. The parks in the area are a must see. The fishing was incredible and golf courses were in good shape. Location of the property is in a five minute car ride to so many restaurants and stores but when your at the house it seems secluded. People in the area were very friendly and provided good service. Totally enjoyed my stay and look forward to coming back. Thank you Troy and Nancy.

Good morning ... I'm writing the review but wondering if it's bad that my mould name matches yours ...or are you strictly Burkhart in your ads...We visited this lovely retreat as a way to explore the springs and Some fishing in the gulf. I cannot say enough about how we enjoyed our stay . Plenty of sleeping spaces in this clean 3 bedroom house with the master/en suite split from the 2 other bedrooms and shared bath . The kitchen and living area are open and well equipped and lead out to a screened linei with a ceiling fan. So despite being hot July in Florida we had the outdoor time we sought with outdoor dining and plenty of river time . The house provides 4 kayaks,paddles and life vests and we took full advantage of these,spending time at the springs and exploring the clear waters of homosassa . To add to our river experience was the boat slip in which we utilized. What makes homosassa special is combining fresh water springs along with a beautiful trip along the river to the gulf for a fisherman’s paradise ! A publix is 5 minutes away which adds to the convenience of a relaxing get away . I’m looking forward to visiting this rental as a repeat customer!
