About the Property
Home Away From Home
Welcome to "Sand Dollar". The contemporary exterior stylings make this a very unique home for the area. Once inside, you will find amazing ocean views, roomy light-filled spaces, and all the comforts of home. This home was given a nice remodel in the spring of 2019, which included all new furniture, upgraded kitchen appliances, new TVs, and more!
"Sand Dollar" is a 3-story home with the main living area on the 2nd floor. The open kitchen, living room, and dining area offer a large space for everyone to gather while enjoying what may be the best ocean views on the beach. Gather around the large flat screen TV to watch your favorite movies, or simply enjoy looking out the wall to wall windows at the ocean. The views overlooking the beach make you feel like you are already on the sand! The kitchen has plenty of room for the chef in your group to whip up your favorite meals. The dining table seats 6 and there is bar seating for 4 more, so you have plenty of room for everyone to gather in this friendly, open space.
From the living room, you can walk out onto our large oceanfront balcony. It overlooks the spacious back yard and the beach. There is plenty of deck furniture so you can relax in the sun, read a book, or enjoy lunch by the water! On the north side of the house is a smaller deck. This deck has a gas grill for you to cook your favorite meals. Below this deck is a covered patio. The patio offers plenty of shady space for you to escape the sun.
Sleeping for 10
The master bedroom is located on the 3rd floor and has incredible views of the Atlantic. It is a very large space and features a king bed plus a sleeper sofa, perfect for young ones who prefer to be in the same room as mom and dad. Guests staying in the master bedroom will enjoy the private use of their own bathroom. There is a large TV in the master bedroom as well.
On the 2nd floor, you will find two bedrooms; one with a king bed and the other with two twin beds. Both bedrooms are on the ocean side of the house. There is a Jack-and-Jill bathroom on this level as well. From the living room, you can walk out onto our large oceanfront balcony. It overlooks the spacious back yard and the beach. Here you can relax in the sun in one of our recliners, or enjoy lunch at the patio table.
Downstairs is the 4th bedroom. This bedroom has a queen bed, TV, and a brand new, full bathroom as well. From this bedroom, you can walk right out to the back patio and yard which leads to the beach! With all of these sleeping arrangements, you are sure to find that the house is more than suitable for medium sized groups up to 10 people. Don't forget, it is pet friendly, too!

Guestbook comments from the owner:
We have been renting homes in this area every summer for the past several years. This has been the best home by far. Clean, nice furniture, great appliances, well furnished. Bedrooms were spacious and loved the open living area. Not a bad view in the entire home. Beach was so close. It was a wonderful experience for the entire family. David was very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely return next year.
From the booking experience through David with Wren Beach Rentals, to the Sand Dollar house, to the actual beach itself couldn’t have been any better. Our stay at the beautifully furnished Sand Dollar beach house was dubbed “best beach trip ever” by our family. No one wanted to leave at the end of the week. This house sits steps from the beach. The beach is not crowded, the sand is smooth, soft and flat; and the house location was perfect. The Sand Dollar was fully equipped with everything you need from linens to kitchen items to beach towels, chairs and sand buckets. The wall of windows was a favorite and the view took my breath away each time I entered the main living space or the walkway to the master bedroom. The only issue we had was the sprinkler system was coming on every hour on our first day. A quick call to David and it was taken care of twenty minutes later. We wouldn’t hesitate to rent this house again in the future, and have already recommended it to friends!
This was by far the greatest house we have stayed in during our 20 years of going to the St Augustine area. It was stocked with everything you would have in your own home and the walk to the beach was just seconds away from the house. The view from the windows was incredible and the entertainment of the dolphins and the pelicans was incredible. We loved every minute of it. I have no complaints nor any recommendations to make this a better house. Would I go back to this house??? Absolutely!!!!!!
The Sand Dollar was even more beautiful than the photos. The furnishings were outstanding and it was very well equipped. The television must have been 65" and had every channel you could possibly think of, plus there was one in the master that was equally large. There must have been 20 something beach towels provided. It was wonderful to be able to wash towels every afternoon while we relaxed on the deck. The convenience to the beach was less than 20 steps (I counted). I literally was able to sit and look out the wall of glass windows each morning and watch the sunrise and the schools of dolphins pass by. It was magnificent. Being amongst a row of residences, the beach was very quiet. It was so nice to sit out on the deck in the afternoons and still get the ocean breeze. You could sit in the sun or be in the shade with the umbrellas. You were still only steps, literally, from the beach. The hoses were well placed so that you could wash off when you came up to the deck. There was even a hose where the cars parked, so I was able to hose off the car before we left to get all that wonderful blowing Florida salt and sand off the car before heading back to to Atlanta. We enjoyed three good restaurants within minutes of the residence. We also drove into Saint Augustine to go to O'Steen's, a restaurant we visit each year, and to walk around the old town. It could not have been a more perfect week and we definitely plan to return to the Sand Dollar many more times. Our only regret was having to say good bye until next time.
