Permit for Helene and Milton repairs approved in June. Things are rolling along! House should be ready by end of 2025.
Booked dates are tentative with beloved regulars who cannot wait to return. When looking at calendar, keep in mind that delays are possible, even likely. Supply chain issues still exist, subcontractors are still very busy and this year’s hurricane season is not over yet.
That being said, new photos will be posted as soon as available. Peacock Place will now be a three-bedroom, two-bath home and can sleep six adults. Large living room with HDTV & Roku and a big kitchen. Furnishings and cabinetry will look a bit different than these old photos, but basic layout will be the same. Large master bedroom will have king bed. Two smaller bedrooms have full bed, and 2 twin beds. Two full bathrooms as well.
For potential newbies, we hope you will bookmark this listing and check back frequently as AMI is mostly back to normal. Now if Mother Nature will just spare us from another back-to-back pair of events?!
Peacock Place is a sprawling old-Florida style home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and plenty of space. It is ideal for a large family or several couples. It is very close to the beach, with only one other house between it and our beautiful, un-crowded beach on the Gulf of Mexico, possibly one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Please note: You are vacationing in a residential area. Please be a good neighbor by keeping the noise to a respectful level during the day and night. Excessive and unreasonable noise can deprive the neighbors of the peaceful enjoyment of their property. Thank you. (City of Holmes Beach requires noise ordinance to be posted on all on-line listings.)
In addition, Peacock Place has a maximum of three vehicles allowed and all vehicles must be parked in driveways. No street or right-of-way parking is allowed without proper permit.

Peacock Place is in a quiet neighborhood with little traffic and mostly full-time residents. It is easily walkable to shopping, restaurants, bike & boat rental, library, post office, groceries, liquor store & specialty wine store, as well as the only bank branch left on the island. There is also a free trolley that runs the length of Anna Maria Island, as well as Longboat Key to the south, and a trolley stop very close to the house. Many of our regulars arrive by shuttle or ride-share, and just use bikes, golf cart, trolley or bus to get around. You can easily enjoy the island without a rental car if you choose!
Our home is in the historic Gutiérrez subdivision; it was purchased by our family in the early 1960’s. Gavino Gutiérrez was one of the original founders of Ybor City in Tampa. He was the engineer who laid out the streets of Ybor City in the 1880’s. He also built one of the original homes on Anna María island called “The Shack”, which was located where the main public beach is today. The wood used to build the shack was rescued when the old courthouse in Tampa was torn down and rebuilt. Gavino Gutiérrez brought the wood to AMI by sailboat. Many of our lovely neighbors are members of the Gutiérrez family! (Thank you all for letting us borrow your prose!)
Because everyone keeps asking! We have a combo traditional drip coffee maker with single-serve pod coffee option.

We had a wonderful time in "old Florida", and were lucky enough to do it again
My husband and I stayed in the Peacock house 2 years in a row and loved it. Denise is an excellent host and the house was amazingly roomy. The kitchen was outfitted with every item you could imagine. The house was so sprawling that my husband could play his guitar in one room and I would not hear it in another. The Lenai was a great place to watercolor/draw, eat or just hang out.The house is in a quiet neighborhood and a short walk to all the things AMI has to offer e.g. restaurants, art walk, cute stores, beach club with music and amazing sunsets on the beach. We had wonderful times and wish we could be there this February.

Ronald M.A womderful stay in Paradise
This was one of the most unique homes we have ever rented. Equipped with everything anyone would need on vacation. Great location, easy walk to the beach, and many restaurants nearby. All in all, we can't think of anyplace we could rent that would provide more and the owner, Denise, was a joy to work with.

Tom M.Great place. Lots of room. Beach access less than a block away. Would rent again.
We had a large family - 5 adults, 2 children, 3 dogs. Peacock place had enough room to handle our whole group. Lots of beach equipment available for use. Beach access very close. Denise (owner) was very helpful and easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay.

We couldn't ask for more.
Peacock Place is located in the perfect spot for walking to beach, restaurants and library. Although it is in the center of town, the neighborhood is quiet. The amenities within the house are modern and set up for maximum convenience, dish washer, washer and drier, cable television and wifi, heat and air conditioning. There is a large screened porch for entertaining or just relaxing. The owner is always available to give advice or fix any problems that might arise. Pets are welcome, and the beach is steps away. We will be back next year.

A Perfect Place
This is much more than a house, it's a home, fully equipped for every possibility. The place is spacious and comfortable with all amenities. The location is the best on the Island. A ten minute walk will get you to half a dozen restaurants and a variety of shops, a post office, a bank and a convenience store, and a couple of more minutes to the library. The free trolley is just two blocks away. And, of course, the pristine beach is 30 seconds away! Lots of beach toys and equipment and bicycles are available in the garage. The owner is very responsive to any questions or problems. We will be returning next year!
