A stunning riverside villa with high speed WiFi internet and Ultra HD TV, private dock, heated pool, lanai and 2100 square feet of air conditioned living area which has recently been fully re-furnished and remodeled to a very high standard. (i.e. 'turnkey' with everything that you should need.) Its acre of landscaped garden sits in a quiet private estate with no through traffic and views over a nature reserve and salt water creek which gives boat access to the Gulf.
This beautiful house with its own private dock (with a permit for a motor boat with up to 10.8 inches draft) is a few minutes from the white sandy Gulf Coast beaches and 8 golf courses. The cathedral ceilings give it a light airy feeling. It is fully air conditioned with a well appointed and newly remodeled modern kitchen. The large master bedroom with its King sized bed, tray ceiling and superb en suite bathroom and walk in closet has direct access to the pool area and is placed on the opposite side of the house to the other bedrooms, thus giving peace, quiet and privacy! All bedrooms enjoy large walk in closets, and TV with DVD player. The fully screened and heated pool is equipped with a removable child safety fence. The garden is floodlit to allow you to enjoy beautiful views during evening barbecues. A Sony music center and a Tivoli Two HiFi FM stereo radio are located in the lounge areas.

The view......We choose this house after looking at over 50 other waterfront properties. The house and its location are fabulous but the icing on the cake is the amazing secluded view onto the creek and the nature reserve at the rear.

Area Information
The nearest beaches, Nokomis and Casey Key, are only 5 minutes away or drive 15 minutes to the world famous Siesta Key beach. At Caspersen Beach you can hunt for fossilised sharks teeth as well as enjoying its natural, unspoilt, wind swept seclusion. A whole range of watersports are available within a short distance, but for those who prefer dry land there is an extensive, family friendly bike trail a couple of minutes away on the Legacy Bike Trail.
For golf enthusiasts Calusa Lakes Golf Course is 3 minutes away. Seven other golf courses are nearby.
Six bikes are available to use (at your own risk and only in daylight). The Legacy Biking Trail is only a few minutes away.
Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy the luxury of fishing from their own dock in the back garden or 15 minutes "no wake" speed by boat to the fish rich waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Boats can be launched from Sorrento Woods private boat ramp which is only 200 yards from the house. Sharkeys Fishing Pier also offers excellent action and you don't need a fishing licence to fish from that pier.
For the kids and young at heart, Busch gardens is a 1 hour drive away with the full selection of theme parks in Orlando (4 Disney Parks, Sea World, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, 4 Water Parks, the opportunity to swim with dolphins, night clubs etc.) an hour and a half away.
For those interested in recreational flying, Venice Airport is less than 10 minutes away.
Excellent shopping facilities are within easy reach as are many great restaurants but for the designer orientated 'chic chick' there are designer outlet malls and exclusive shopping areas all within 25 minutes drive at Ellenton Outlet Mall.
Attractions Within Walking Distance
The community dock, children's play area and Bocce court are a few hundred feet away at the end of the street.

There are endless choices for eating out but our favorites are The Casey Key Fish House, Fins (at Sharkeys Pier) and Bonefish Restaurant.
Inside Scoop
Access to the Legacy Biking Trail is only a couple of minutes away by bike. The trail goes nearly all the way up to Sarasota and all the way to down town Venice. It then continues down the Inter-coastal Waterway all the way down to Casperson Beach from where you can cycle round the airport back to Venice Avenue to rejoin the trail again.

All bookings and payments are processed through our agents in Venice, so you can pay in installments with credit card.
A holding deposit of $500 is required to secure the booking. This is credited to the total rent.
There is a $225 end of rental cleaning fee and a $65 damage insurance.
$100 electricity is included in the rent per month. (i.e. $50 for two weeks) In other words, normal levels of electricity are included and you only pay for the electric pool heating (typically a lot less than $5 a day) if you use it.

About the owner: June and I are both retired and enjoy using our piece of paradise for several months a year. Any time that we are not using the house we are pleased to let others enjoy everything that it has to offer. In other words, this is not a normal rental property. It is our home from home that we always keep in tip top condition, as you can see on the link to our own website which shows the never ending improvement projects.
Why this property? June and I are hobby pilots and wanted to have a place in Florida.
We looked at over 50 villas on the west coast of Florida from Naples to Tampa and choose Venice because it offers everything that you could ever want to be able to enjoy the pleasures of the Gulf Coast.

This house had all the amenities that we needed and was the perfect lay out for us. We loved being right on the canal, and enjoyed sitting on the dock by the water. The location was perfect for us as it was close to all the activities that we frequented. We are looking forward to returning next year.

The home is located in a lovely well kept quiet neighborhood with a backyard view of a waterway & so many birds. It is a quick bike ride to The Legacy Bike Trail, offering small parks along its way for us to do our morning workout routine. It also allowed a safe ride to downtown historic Venice, opening up all kinds of options for dining and shopping. The house is tastefully decorated, comfortable beds, and has plenty of linens and towels for all our needs. The kitchen has a great layout for more than one cook & we were not lacking in any type of kitchen amenities for our meal preps. We utilized the gas grill many times and were happy to have it, especially when we were cooking fish. The pool area was perfect! It was used every day!! We especially appreciated having the table within the lanai with its overhead paddle fan. We used that table as our main dining table. Our hosts - Rod & June - were extremely accommodating and super easy to work with. Anytime we had a question, Rod was quick to respond and always wanted to make sure we were all set.

We had the most enjoyable 2 months in Florida that we ever have had. Everything was Perfect! We especially enjoyed the solitude and quiet. Connie spent 4 to 5 hours a day painting and sketching. We used the pool 5 days out of 7. We both did a lot of reading and went to the beach probably 5 times a week. I am an avid golfer and worked a lot on my game. I took a series of golf lessons at Venice Golf Course from Dave the Course Pro. I am always trying to improve my game.

This is our fourth time at Sorrento Woods in Rod and June's Paradise. We enjoy the location and proximity to Nokomis Beach and all the retail businesses that are close by. The house is spectacular. We use the bikes to go down to the Jetty's to watch the boats and fishermen. We bike to downtown Venice to the Saturday market. We also have been playing tennis at the courts in downtown Venice, which has a great round robin every morning that anyone can join. We are 5 minutes away from several great golf courses. Our family comes down for a visit during our stay, and love their own wing in the house and the ability to swim and play in the pool every day. Rod and June have all the items included in the rental that you need. Towels, beach chairs, beach blankets, umbrellas, etc. We have been lucky to have record high temperatures in February and will enjoy coming back next year to this perfect holiday retreat. This home is an excellent vacation property. We continue to return every March year after year. The owners Rod and June are so easy to work with and you feel like you have known them forever. This spacious, nicely appointed and well equipped home is in a serene setting in a quiet neighborhood. The split design is great for families. We love sitting around the pool, overlooking the creek and watching all the wildlife. Amenities are close by and the beach is only 10 minutes away. We hate leaving at the end of March. We have visited this beautiful house on numerous occasions and have enjoyed every trip. The house is decorated to the highest standards and is very clean throughtout. It is very well stocked with everything you need. The bikes are a bonus and have enjoyed many a bike ride. The swimming pool area is great and never get fed-up with the view and all the wildlife. The locality is great and close to everything, shops, beaches, bike trail, Venise and State parks, which we love. All in all a gem of a find. Hope to be back in the future.

We have visited this property on three occasions and have never been disappointed. We flew into Tampa and it is an easy drive down to the property, about an hour. The accommodation is high class. The instructions for everything are comprehensive and easy to understand. We enjoyed getting about on the bikes, going in to Venice for a coffee or great ice cream. The close by supermarkets are very well stocked. Sunset on Venice beach is worth a visit and if you enjoy yoga there are early morning sessions there too. We had great fishing, off the dock, in the creek and were luck enough to get some deep sea treats. There are good restaurants in town, lots of choice. All in all a great property to visit

Really enjoyed all the bikes and the proximity to the Legacy Bike Trail. House and everything in it were great and spotless. Roomy enough for our kids to pop in and visit during our stay. Enjoyed grilling out by the pool. Creek in front on the house was a real bonus to put kayaks in without having to haul them somewhere. We would recommend this to anyone wanting to enjoy this part of Florida.

Our family has stayed here for the last seven or years. The view, creek, and nature area you see from the backyard are beautiful. We have seen an alligator, two otters, and a Manatee mom with her little one right from the dock. We have caught fish from the dock which we have cooked and eaten. Besides all the places to visit and shop in Venice, we take a day to go to St. Peterersburg where we visit the Salvador Dali Museum and the Chihuly Blown Glass Museum. We've attended a Minnesota Twins game at Tropicana Field. We have also driven to the Ringling Circus Museum, and the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens near Sarasota. The house is immaculate, and Rod and June make every effort to accommodate renters' needs.

This was our third stay here and love this house on the salt water creek where we launch our kayaks. The wildlife refuge across from the house is wonderful for watching - eagles, raccoons, wild pigs, an occasional bobcat or alligator. You can fish right off the dock at the house or at the lovely park a couple doors down where there's a small playground for kids ..also a great place to jog. The house is equipped with everything you need ... very clean with comfortable beds. A short drive to Nokomis beach where we enjoyed the ukulele group and drum circle every week and sunsets on the jetty. The bike trail is about 1/2 mile away and easy to access .. can take you north to Oscar Scherer State Park or south to Shamrock Park or Caspersen Beach. The owners are very attentive, respond to all questions quickly. The local couple who manage the property were very nice and quickly resolved any issues (all minor). Highly recommend this for a great Florida vacation!!
