Perfectly located for you and your fur baby!
The deck is perfect for watching dolphins swim by or watching the sunset. You have easy, quick beach access. There are two nice pools within easy walking distance. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glassware, and cookware, as well as small appliances, like a toaster, etc. The beds are very comfortable. I especially loved the deck off the master bedroom with the adirondack chairs. Perfect for relaxing in the morning or evening!

Great pet-friendly beach condo!
We had a blast on our beach vacation with our beagle Jack. The view from the decks is perfect and two of them aim west toward the sunset. We got to watch dolphins at sunset one night! The house is in great condition. The walk to the beach is only about 45 seconds, and you don't need shoes (says my feet in August). All of our neighbors were chill. We got delayed a day by Tropical Storm Fred for a day, but this joint is stocked with books, games, DVDs and three great digital TV systems for situations like that. There are only a small handful of restaurants in the area, so options are very limited but every restaurant we visited was excellent.Five stars, we're going back.

Home away from home!
Our family just returned from one of the best weeks of our lives. We have been to the Cape 3 times and this was our best trip by far. The condo was extremely clean and well equipped with all of the necessities for daily living. The layout of the home was perfect and accommodated our family of 5 adults and 2 children very well. The location of this unit is right on the beach. We were able to enjoy all the sunsets and dolphins play from our balcony. The location of the Barrier Dunes themselves was the best part. We were right by the state park so much to do along with beautiful waters. We were also able to pack lightly this year as the condo came with beac chairs, wagon, beach toys, and a cooler. It was a wonderful experience for us and we will be back

Spacious, well equipped, ocean front and convenient condo.
We enjoyed our stay from the relaxing evenings on the ocean front balcony watching the sunset to the well equipped kitchen for coffee and dinner. Also the two pools and playground just topped it off for the youngsters in our group. Wendy thought of everything for her guest from comfortable bedding, plenty of towels as well as games and videos for family time entertainment. Hope to visit again soon!

Walking on Sunshine is heaven on earth
We recently booked a Condo for a much needed Florida vacation through Cape Escape Vacation Rentals. Let me start by saying I am very picky or specific when it comes to vacation destinations and accommodations. I usually spend days looking at available accommodations, reading the fine print and reviews as well as viewing the area on google streets. I know what I want and I don’t want to be surprised or disappointed when it’s time for us to kick back and relax. When I came across Walking on Sunshine at the Barrier Dunes, I was pretty sure I was on to the perfect location. I reached out to Wendy Jackson with Cape Escape Rentals and I must say after the first email exchange, I knew it was meant to be. Wendy is quick to respond, very thorough and is very detailed oriented. We were bringing our two four legged babies so we needed a place that was dog friendly inside and out. I looked at a lot of places that appeared Dog Friendly but when I inquired further I found out most of the places that advertised Dog Friendly either were not on Dog friendly beaches or the person advertising wasn't sure if the beach was dog friendly. Wendy was very informative regarding dogs on the beach at Cape San Blas as well as other surrounding areas. Not only was the Condo perfect for us, the beaches and other attractions were exactly what we were looking for. When I say "steps from the beach" I literally mean steps from the beach out our back door. If that isn't enough, picture yourself sitting in the living room or kitchen table of the condo and looking directly at the ocean and watching the sunsets. Not to mention the wonderful deck we spent so much time on with the pups playing board games, watching the beautiful sunsets and the playful porpises out in the Ocean. The views are amazing and I can't think of anything we needed the condo didn't have. The library of books and board games had something for everyone in the family of all ages. We had beach chairs and other beach items provided as well. You can honestly show up with your clothes and your pups and start enjoying your vacation. There was a basket of dog bowls, toys, even some leashes for the pups just in case. Wendy provided us with detailed information covering very detailed directions to the condo, grocery avialability, delivery services, horseback riding information, even local photographers information in case you want a family photo shoot while you are there. We arranged for Kaila Bruner to do a shoot for us and we couldn't have been happier. In addition to all the amenities, we were very impressed with how friendly and nice all the people were. While we were walking the dogs around the Sand Dunes complex, we came across some workers who were making some improvements or adjustments around the pool area. They could see one of our dogs was startled by the power tool, so they stopped for a minute so we could pass. I then heard one of them say they wanted to get the work done before the weekend so we could be sure to take advantage of the pool area. They were so sincere and I will never forget that.Cape San Blas is a little piece of paradise with huge seashells and lovely people, if you have never been there, you don't know what you are missing. We are booking the same condo next year and quite possibly sometime over the Christmas holidays .

Our Special Place
Cape San Blas is such a special place, and our favorite Barrier Dunes condo is Walking On Sunshine. The condo is comfortable, cozy and well-equipped. It has a great beach view, including watching the many beautiful sunsets over the Gulf. We enjoyed long walks on the beach, playing pickle ball with our snowbird friends, and even spending time in the heated pool. It’s a wonderful location and condo. Wendy is a great manager; responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. Can’t wait to come back next year.

Two Weeks at the Cape
We recently enjoyed 2 weeks at Cape San Blas staying at Barrier Dunes in “Walking on Sunshine”. This is our third trip to the Cape and we loved every minute. The sunsets were beautiful and a little different every evening. The best part about our comfortable unit was the amazing views. We saw shooting star at night, too. Wendy was always helpful and answered our questions immediately. Our dogs loved the beach and enjoyed numerous walks. We can’t wait to go back.

Fabulous direct beach front town home!
We have booked with this owner several times in the past and were not disappointed! We go to the Cape to unwind and love the area. The home was well appointed with several amenities - including boogie boards which makes for great fun in the waves. The layout of the home is nice, as there is plenty of space for everyone. The open concept of the first floor allows people to visit and hang out on the (hopefully) few rain events and makes for relaxing evenings. The loft would be tight for adults, as the ceiling is very low - be careful going up the steps!!! It's fantastic for kids, though. This was the smallest beach front unit we have rented, but still - 10 out of 10 recommend!

Everything You Could Hope For
This was the 4th time renting from Cape Escape Rentals and the 2nd time staying at "Walking on Sunshine". We keep returning because it is the perfect beach vacation. The rental units are exceptionally well stocked, from the kitchen to the beach closet, and Wendy makes the rental process a breeze. Long walks on the beach are always the highlight of our stay. We have never experienced crowds or large groups on the beach, even during spring break. The second best thing for us was relaxing on the deck, especially enjoying a cocktail at sunset, followed by dinner with fresh seafood. The shrimp and grouper from the local St Joe Shrimp Company are the best. Oh, and don't miss the local donut shop.

Perfect pet-friendly beach condo
The location is amazing - the beach is on the doorstep! Its location in the complex is one of our favorite reasons to stay there. It is quiet and seems a bit more private where it is located in the complex, but yet close to beach access, tennis courts, and both pools. It has beautiful beach and Gulf views from all levels. It is well-stocked, family-friendly, comfortable and decorated just the right amount. We enjoy eating meals on the main deck and watching the beautiful sunsets. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

always the best vacation
Just returned from another great week at the cape. We try to fit in at least 1 trip a year and luckily were here in April and again November. The area is recovering nicely lots of improvements and loads of things to do. We always enjoy long walks on the beach, trips to Apalachicola for Oyster City Brews and tasty treats at dog friendly restaurants. Walking on Sunshine is always a comfortable, quiet, relaxing oasis. After 1 week of watching dolphins from the porch and strolling with the dogs down the beach I am looking ahead to our next trip.

Even a hurricane can't keep them down!
Just had our 4th annual stay in this condo. Even though the devastation at CSB and PSJ is horrible and everywhere, Barrier Dunes was overall in great shape with just a couple condos out of commission. The beach and dunes are restored and the pools are open! The unit itself is in excellent condition with plenty of amenities included. There is a reason why we book there every year!
