Paradise

Vitamin Sea exceeded all expectations for our week's vacation for our family of 12. Location was perfect for daily visits to both sides of the island. House is stunning and fully equipped for swimming, meals, and beach- we didn't need a thing! Bikes, umbrellas, toys, beach blanket, kayaks, chairs and much more. The outside living space was lovely and utilized all day and night. We shall return!

Second time around

This was the second time in 2 years that our family of 10 stayed for one week at Vitamin Sea. Things started out kind of rough with Emma not remembering that we were coming - so the house was not cleaned, then cleaned in such a hurry it was not up to the usual standards. Still, we enjoyed the accommodations and were able to repeat many of the fun things we'd done in 2019 - especially renting a pontoon boat and keeping it at the dock. The girls loved the shopping trips. And we actually started our first morning with "Painting With a Twist" out by the pool. The guys used the fishing gear and we were happy to have the beach chairs for the Sandbar beach. The youngest kids LOVED their time in the pool, but the adults were wishing it was easier to get the hot tub actually hot. It would have been nice to have a supply of kitchen size trash bags and extra toilet paper. The bed linens were NOT clean but we raided the linen closet and also asked for more to be brought to us. We could have used a few blankets as well. It is time to change the online description so it does not say that everything is "new". After 2 years of use, some things are starting to look shabby and worn, including the dishes in the kitchen cupboards and lots of nicks in the painted trim, a stained mattress and blood-stained sheets. Personally, I felt a lack of clothes closet space in Bedroom number one, and would like places in each bedroom to set up opened suitcases. Two of us used the bicycles which we did not do on our first stay there. However, the trash and recycle cans were overflowing, filthy dirty and had broken wheels.

Beautiful house

Vitamin Sea had everything we could ask for. We rent a house every year in the Tampa/South area. This one was definitely one of the best

Rain or Shine

Having a steamy hot tub, a pretty cool pool deck and pool during a tropical depression made everything alright. Staying here over Memorial weekend was just what we needed. Each room had it's own restroom, which made for ease of use. Televisions were everywhere. Internet service was sound. The top deck which allowed us to have a panoramic view of the town was a great place for sleeping at night...although there was an occasional flash of lightning was fantastic. (Okay, I was the silly one to do that, but it was that great of a spot to read a good audio book and contemplate life). What else? It was a quick drive to either side of the peninsula (the bay side or the open gulf). We chose the gulf. But for running in the morning, or simply taking a walk near water, the bay side was right there....as in 1 small block. Our wives walked home from the bay/pier in heels because they wanted to. Yeah...that close! We loved the ground level as it was great for leaving your shoes and taking a run to the pool or going upstairs. Great toys for the pool and beach. Comfortable furniture (outdoor and indoor). Kitchen is open concept and allows for watching television while cooking. (Yeah, we cook on our trips)Overall it was just a great house! It handled us and the weather really well. We didn't have a dull moment. Half of us were water people, so anything water was great. The others were relaxed type folks, so television watching or hanging around the deck, or taking a bike ride worked out well. One tip. If you don't want the lights shining into your bedroom at night. The switch is on the very top floor in the little foyer. We were looking everywhere for it.Oh....and if you treat the owners, their home and cleaners with respect and care...they'll all reciprocate.

Host response

"It was our absolute pleasure to have you and your family stay at our home. So glad to hear the weather didn't damper your enjoyment of the island and the house - the lightening is incredible to watch but stay safe :) We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future!"
