Pearl and the Beach

Pearl is a charming and steps from the beach. A two bedroom cottage duplex retreat tucked away on a quiet private lane in the heart of Captiva Village, look left from the driveway and the Gulf is only a half a block away. Look to your right and a half a block away is the beginning of Captiva Village with alfresco dining, live music and island shops.

Inside, Pearl features a fully stocked kitchen, washer, dryer, one and a half baths, lots and lots of windows, beach towels, a shade tent and cooler for the beach. There is a cart under the house that you can pull everything to the beach with. Coffee on the front deck in the mornings watching the sunrise is unbelievable, and evenings usually end with your toes in the sand on the beach, in a chair with drink in hand watching the sun melt into the Gulf.

There are no stoplights on Captiva, only Palms swaying in the breeze, tropical vegetation, Golf Carts, and the feeling the time has slowed down, maybe even missed Captiva completely. I often think I'm going to see Robinson Caruso himself come out from the vegetation across the street before vanishing back into the island again. Captiva is a place you go to relax, to read, to walk the beach, to center yourself. The tallest building on the island is only three stories tall and that is only because it is up on pilings. There are no roller coasters on this island. There are no mini putt putt courses. There are ice cream, shops, restaurants, and a lot of smiles.

Area Information

Captiva is a small island accessible by bridge, with the bay on one side and the Gulf on the other. Pearl sits on X marks the spot. It sits on a private lane canopied by palm trees, and tropical vegetation. It's a sandy lane that you travel to Pearl and continue on to the beach. We have some of the best seafood you'll ever taste at The Green Flash, great cheeseburgers at the Mucky Duck, and fries, and my favorite… delicious ice cream at Boops. For those of you that need your Starbucks fix there is a Starbucks three blocks from Pearl.
