Jasmin is a light, airy, two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath duplex cottage located on a private street in a private neighborhood, which means no traffic, no noise, and no strangers asking you awkward questions. It’s just ½ block from the beach and a 1½-block walk to Captiva Village, where you’ll find restaurants, live music, and shops selling things you absolutely don’t need but will buy anyway. And yes, there’s even a Starbucks three blocks away, should you need proof that civilization still exists.
Inside, Jasmin is fully stocked—borderline overachieving. The kitchen has an ice maker, dishwasher, plates, silverware, and everything required to prepare meals you probably won’t cook. We provide beach towels, beach chairs, a beach tent, bath towels, detergent, soap, shampoo, and conditioner—so you can pack light and still live like a responsible adult. There’s also a washer and dryer, because sand happens.
Newly decorated by an interior designer (not your cousin with a Pinterest board), Jasmin features vaulted ceilings, built-in bookcases, tons of windows, and a deck ideal for morning coffee, afternoon naps, and deep thoughts like “Why don’t we live here?” There’s a barbecue grill for ambitious evenings, free on-site parking for two cars, free high-speed internet, and streaming TVs—for when the sun finally wears you out.
Your daily routine will be exhausting: wake up, watch the sunrise, debate the beach versus the village, accidentally do both, then end the day sinking your toes into the sand with a cold drink while the sun puts on a completely unnecessary but spectacular sunset show.
The only heavy things you’ll leave with are your luggage… and the memories.
(Okay, and possibly a mild reluctance to return to real life.)
Jasmin is bright, beautifully decorated, extremely welcoming, and known to cause extended stays, repeat visits, and the sudden urge to check real estate listings on Captiva.
Jasmin is tucked into one of Captiva’s most charming little pockets—a quiet, private neighborhood where palm trees form a canopy, tropical vegetation spills into the street, and the loudest interruption is usually a bird announcing it has something important to say.
Step outside and you’re moments from Captiva Village, home to open-air restaurants, live music, and some of the island’s most iconic spots. Walk to the island favorite Green Flash for dinner and cocktails, the Bubble Room for color, cake, and controlled chaos, or the Mucky Duck for island comfort food and a laid-back local crowd. Along the way, you’ll pass boutique island shops, golf carts cruising by, and people with nowhere to be, and nothing to do who look as peaceful as you feel.
Mornings start with coffee on the deck, birds singing, palm fronds swaying, and the distant sound of waves crashing—nature’s way of reminding you there’s no rush. Sunrises are best enjoyed barefoot. Sunsets are best enjoyed with your toes in the sand and a cold drink in hand, watching the sky do things that feel slightly unfair to the rest of the world.
Your toughest decision each day?
Beach or cottage.
Fishing or shelling.
Water sports or a golf-cart cruise.
Reading a book on the beach… or reading it at the cottage in the Adirondack chair because the breeze feels perfect there.
Captiva doesn’t do hustle. There are no stoplights, no tall buildings, and no schedules that matter. This is a neighborhood where you need a car about as often as it rains…never. Days unfold slowly, memories stick, and “just one more night” becomes a very common phrase.
