1100 sq. ft. LOCATION: Sand Castle I is located mid-way between Clearwater Beach and St. Petersburg Beach in the city of Indian Shores, about 30 minutes from Tampa International Airport, less than 2 hours from Disney World, 45 minutes from Busch Gardens and about 10 miles west of I-275.
ACCOMODATIONS: Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6) and under the building parking.
ABOUT THE CONDO: Our condo at Sand Castle I is a direct Gulf-front condo with great views of the beach and Gulf of Mexico from our 3rd floor balcony. Watch the beach and sunsets from the large 23 foot balcony with sliding glass doors from the living room and master bedroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed and private bath. The second bedroom has a queen size and a single bed. The den has a queen sleeper sofa. Both bedrooms and the living room have flat screen TVs, basic cable service and DVD players. The living room has a small stereo system with a CD player. The unit has free internet and phone service. The kitchen and both bathrooms have been remodeled and the unit is freshly painted and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, cooking utensils and dishes. The unit is equipped with a full sized washer and dryer.
The Sand Castle I complex has a large beach-side pool and hot tub, a sauna and a games room with ping pong and air hockey, a lending library, and free Wireless Internet service. The beachfront area has a lush tropical garden and a barbeque area overlooking the Gulf. Each condo has designated reserved parking and the space for our condo is under the building.
The Suncoast Beach Trolley provides service between Clearwater Beach and St. Petersburg Beach (stops near the building) and is a convenient way to get around the beach area.
Staring in the Fall of 2024 the building will be undergoing repair culminating in a total exterior paint job. During Fall work periods (August-December) there is expected to be noise and we will not be renting our unit. During the Winter-Spring-Summer period, the building will be open and we will be renting.
There is some street parking on Gulf Blvd to the North and the city of Indian Shores has extended parking available at Tiki Gardens, 19601 Gulf Blvd. There is short term metered parking and daily parking is available for purchase at the Police Department in Town Hall at 19305 Gulf Blvd.
The cabanas in front of the building are for rent .
Our condo is managed by Dan and Ruth McKinnon, the owners.
ABOUT THE AREA: Indian Shores is located on a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico. The area has beautiful wide white sand beaches, and is close to golf courses, malls and other shopping and a great variety of entertainment venues. The area is home to the NFL Buccaneers, the NHL Lightning and the American League Tampa Bay Rays. Several MLB teams are in the area for Spring Training. Busch Gardens is about 45 minutes away and the multiple parks of Disney plus Sea World and Universal Studios are less than 2 hours away. Bike, motorbike and boat rentals are available across the street. John’s Pass with charter fishing, boat rentals, water sport activities, shops and restaurants is about 5 miles down the beach. Other attractions in the immediate Tampa Bay area include Adventure Island, the Florida Aquarium, Sunken Gardens and the Lowry Park Zoo.
Nearby cities such as Sarasota, Bradenton and Tarpon Springs offer a wide variety of additional attractions.

There are many excellent restaurants including Caddy's Pub just across the street, Crabby Bill’s, PJ’s Oyster Bar, Keegan's, Guppy’s and the five star Salt Rock Grill, all within a few minutes drive. These and many others offer fresh seafood and other favorites, several with water front dining.

Cancellation: The reservation deposit is non-refundable if the cancellation is less than 90 days prior to the
reservation start date. If the cancellation is prior to 90 days the deposit is refundable if the unit is re-rented at the
same rate less a $50 service fee. A reservation will be cancelled by us if no notification is received from the guest
by 5 PM of the day following the reservation start date.

Unit 307 of Sandcastle 1 was a beautifully decorated, clean, spacious condo. Everything we needed for a great vacation! Loved being able to rent a cabana right outside the complex. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Johns Pass also nearby. The electric shutters on the balcony were especially nice during those hot afternoons. Will definitely return to this condo!

We had another great week in Dan’s condo!! Always love the view and easy access to the pool and ocean with many options close by for day trips. We relaxed, lots of walks on the beach, and also ventured out to places such as Honeymoon Island, Caladesi, Dunedin, Madeira beach, and paddle boarding in St Pete. Great food and shopping options close too. The condo is always clean and well supplied. Dan was easy to reach with a question and took care of our needs! Thanks again!

Indian Shores beach was wonderful. Ocean view balcony. The weather was 70’s and 80 degrees. The Condo was perfect, we enjoyed the hot tub. The pool looked good we just did not get to it. I cannot say enough about our 2 weeks there. We hope to visit again.

We had a memorable time during our stay at this unit at Sand Castle I. This is a lovely condo with all the comforts of home with a wonderful decorum. We compared it with other units listed in the area and this one has the nicest ambiance that satisfied our personality. This felt like home, had plenty of room, loved the layout, and felt comfortable, Didn't want to leave when it came time to go! This unit is one of the nicest condos we have stayed in and it is nicely decorated and recently freshly painted. Loved spending everyday viewing the ocean and we enjoyed the well kept landscaping. The pool and hot tub area is well maintained, the deck is sprayed down every morning, and set up every day. We enjoyed that this area is close to Clearwater & St Petersburg. Something is always happening at the beach and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the activities and sunsets. OMG the sunsets there are breath taking and a photographers muse. Long walks along the beach in either direction provided interesting people to meet and and ample exercise. Someone did fireworks one night on the beach right outside the property and drew quite the crowd, You can’t be disappointed when you stay at this unit. Dan & Ruth have done a fantastic job with this place and it is just a sheer pleasure to be able stay there. Good place, good people, fantastic sunsets, good times!

Our family had a wonderful time during our recent stay at Sand Castle I. The condo was one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in and beautifully decorated. It was our first stay at Sand Castle I and our first visit to Indian Rock Beach/Clearwater. The condo was very clean and well-equipped. There were beach chairs, sand toys, and a cooler in the balcony closet. The restroom off the pool area was very convenient and clean. We ate at Caddy's (across the street) twice. It was delicious and we sat at a table on the waterway. We will definitely be returning next summer! Thanks Dan and Ruth for a great condo!

We enjoyed our stay at this condo! Very clean and well stocked. Big balcony with beautiful sunsets. Parking was a little tricky with a big SUV since it is underneath the condo building with tight spaces, but that would not stop us from staying here again. We loved the convenience of the third floor (we used the stairs mostly) and how close the beach was.

Sandcastle 1 unit 307...The condo was very clean and well kelp and decorated. I will say it was the best equipped condo that I have ever been in. Every detail had been considered and provided for. There was even an emergency first aid kit in one of the drawers. Knives, forks and spoons galore. The owner, Mr. McKinnon, had even provided 20 or 30 good movies to watch if you wished. We have stayed at Sandcastle 1 several times so we can say with out a doubt that the pool and grounds are kept extremely well and the beach is close in and uncrowded most of the time. Highly recommended!!

We enjoyed our stay at Sand Castle 1. We love this area and it is close to Clearwater & St Petersburg. Many good restaurants our favorite is Salt Rock. The beach is lovely and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the sunsets. The pool was very clean and the deck was sprayed down every morning. You won’t be disappointed if you rent here.

CLEAN.....COZY.....FULLY equipped with everything you will ever need while away from home. Def the cleanest condo I have ever stayed in and I've been in my share. Very updated and decorated pleasantly. Many extras and the pictures on this site do not do condo justice. It was actually BETTER in person! Nice surprise. Condo elevators are fast, plenty of luggage carts and buggies to haul groceries. Great parking. Very quiet relaxed neighborhood. Uncrowded beaches, clean beautiful landscaping, pool, hot tub and surroundings. Very nice bathroom by pool complete with shower. Extra sand chairs and beach toys by gate to beach, also hose to rinse off with. This place lacked NOTHING!! We will be staying again!!! 5 star for sure~ Thank you for a great stay!!!! Use local taxi to shuttle us across the bridge to get groceries and other needs. Very reasonable and close to EVERTHING, yet not commercialized. Nice visit to John's Pass for dinner on the water and plenty of unique shops!

Loved the condo! Super view of the beach & all the comforts of home, right down to the decorations. I compared it to 3 other units, in two buildings, that friends rented. Those felt like rentals & needed some personality. Ours felt like home, didn't want to leave! Easy access to the beach & shops. Wonderful time had by all of us. Will rent from Dan again! A great guy, there when I called! Definitely recommend his condo!!

The condo has been upgraded to more modern. Great view of the pool and sunset. Clearwater beach & fantastic restaurant about 15 minutes away. Strongly recommended to go to St.Peterburgh pier which just recently reopened. Our family had a great time and looking forward to go back.

Our stay in January could not have been more delightful. The location is simply magnificent - looking to the west from the third-floor balcony are some of the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen. It is so comfortable, spacious, and perfectly outfitted, did not want to leave. We walked the beach in bare feet for almost 2 miles in either direction. The pool, hot tub and grounds are maintained to perfection so laying in the sun with a good book could be enjoyed from many different perspectives. Good restaurants are within walking distance or short drives and the seafood is what you would expect - excellent. Don’t miss the ice cream shop right across the street. This place is just heavenly - very comfortable, romantic, and let’s not forget warm in the winter with abundant sunshine.

Everything about this location made for the perfect girl’s trip vacation. The property and grounds were immaculate. The view from the patio of the gulf and the pool was exceptional. The proximity to the trolley stop and local restaurants and bars was so convenient. Our condo, unit 307 was absolutely perfect-well equipped with everything we needed and extremely comfortable. This location will definitely be one we return to again.

Unit 307 is a beautiful and well equipped condo in a perfect family friendly location and close to many attractions. The beach and gulf are steps away. The ocean view from the condo is second to none with breathtaking sunsets. I do recommend SandCastle 1 getting new gas grills. Folks were walking next door to use SandCastle 2 grills.

My wife and I really enjoyed our week in this condo. The condo was very well-maintained, well-equipped, and suitably decorated. The location was quiet and very close to the beach. The immediate surrounding area is not commercial or loud, but there are ample restaurants nearby -- one across the street. When we were not out on the beach or in the pool, we spent a lot of time each day on the balcony admiring the view and the sound of the waves. Very relaxing!
