Monica E.The house is very nice, spacious and we really liked the layout. Sometimes things happen with any house and it just happened during our rental. Serious plumbing issues throughout and back-up due to septic system issues, confirmed by their plumber after multiple visits.. We were not able to use the bathrooms and had to insist on a refund or being relocated to another property. Finally we were relocated and issued a partial credit and that resolution speaks very well of management and restores confidence. One TV damaged but they replaced that quickly. All in all, they were responsive. And once the problems in the house are taken care of it really is a good house to rent. The distance to the beach is half block or less. I’m sure the house issues will be resolved. And again, this is normal with any home.By the way, we were relocated to what might be an upper scale home. Which was really nice, but we prefer the layout of the original. It was very nice having pool on the same level with living room and kitchen.

TracyOur stay at the Salty Pirate was great! We had a full house and it was definitely spacious. The location is ideal…and I mean, IDEAL. It is literally across the street from the beach and an easy, quick walk. There were beach chairs & useable items along with a wagon for transport to the beach which made it super easy. The beach was not packed with people and very clean. It was a quick 10 minute drive to all the happenings in the old section of St. Augustine - lots of things to see and do if you like that sort of thing. The only “complaint” we had is the temperature of the water in the pool. It wasn’t very refreshing because it was like bath water even at the start of the day. That being said…we were there in Florida at the end of July and it was HOT (90’s) every day, so I don’t know if that’s even possible to address. We would definitly stay there again if traveling to St. Augustine!

MaureenWe had a great stay overall and would definitely stay here again! When we arrived, the cleaning crew had not yet serviced the home, but the property management team was incredibly responsive and apologetic as soon as I sent pictures. They addressed the issue quickly and made a reasonable accommodation, which we appreciated. The house itself was very comfortable and worked perfectly for our group of 6 adults and 5 kids. The AC was strong and refreshing after a day in the sun, and the pool was great—cleaned during our stay and a nice way to unwind. The neighborhood was quiet, and the garage was super convenient for storing beach gear and other items. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds, pillows, and comforters were all very comfortable. We loved the quick beach access just 2 minutes away, but do note that the road to cross has no pedestrian walkway and cars rarely stop—so be cautious, especially with kids. The beach itself was lovely—quiet, family-friendly, and peaceful.

Donna V.The house was gorgeous. The trash was over flowing out of outside can and it stated trash pick up was on Friday. I called and asked about having it picked up, but no one returned my call. We literally had to just sat trash in the garage for whole week we were there.

Andrea G.We absolutely loved this house! It was the perfect layout for our group, was a 2 min walk to the beach, in a safe and cute neighborhood, with easy and quick access to groceries. 12 min to downtown St. Aug, which was an easy drive. The house was clean and the pool area was awesome—paying to heat the pool was worth every penny.

Brian M.The property location is great. The property itself is very clean. None of the exterior lights on the rear of the house were functional. I couldn’t find the switch nor did I ask management. Could have been operator error on my part.I would highly recommend people stay there.

RebeccaWe had a great stay. It was a bit hot in the upstairs bedroom the first night but it mostly improved the following nights. Very clean and spacious and we were glad to find that the door out to the pool area had a lock up high so the kids in our group couldn’t reach it.

JenniferSeveral issues, could have been fabulous! Positive: The house was laid out well and has plenty of comfortable rooms and beds. The kitchen is well stocked but could use larger pots and pans for a family of 8. Negative: The house had drainage problems in the upstairs sink and downstairs shower. The garbage disposal in the kitchen didn't work, we finally found out about the reset button 2 days later when my brother fixed it. The 2 downstairs TV's would not hold a WIFI code to be able to watch. All other TV's worked but only had streaming service capabilities. No local channels available. The house is advertised as having a "heated" pool. It does not say there is an additional fee of $150, and that it will take 24 hours to heat it. It was a little too cold to swim at 70 degrees. We checked in Thursday night. Friday morning, The Proper Group was notified about the TV's, and a remote missing. They brought a remote within 2 hours. The girl who brought the remote was informed about the garbage disposal and stated she would inform them. The next morning, after no response, I sent a text to the manager who had been texting me and told him about the issues. This morning, Monday, when we checked out, I texted the same number and listed these issues. The manager sent back that they wish they had known. I replied for them to look 2 text messages up. We did report all issues. One more thing that upset us. With 8 grown adults the bathroom situation was not explained correctly. They advertised 4 bedrooms/3 baths. This is incorrect. There are 2 master bedrooms with full baths attached (Shower and all). There is a half bath in the laundry room (Toilet and Sink), and a half bath on the hallway downstairs (It Jack and Jill's to the master bath). The 4 bedrooms have a Queen, Queen, King, and King bed. There is a Landing upstairs with 2 nice bunkbeds. No privacy for this room. Would be okay for younger kids.

Cari R.We arrived to a house that looks just like the pics. Upon arrival the keypad wasn’t working but we were able to reach someone right away and the problem was resolved quickly. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

Toney V.We loved the location. The pool and outside area was wonderful. The house was good except when the listing said 3 bathrooms, we were expecting 3 full baths. That was a little inconvenient. We enjoyed the pool table in the garage and the extra refrigerator. The beach access was great, even better t

Jim W.We had an amazing vacation! Steps to the beach, private pool, fenced in yard and a short drive to grocery and shops of St. Augustine. We had everything we needed to comfortably house our group of 4 adults, 4 kids and 2 dogs. The two refrigerators gave us plenty of space for a week of grocery and drinks. Beds were comfy, liked the extra throw blankets throughout the house and the12 beach towels included was a big plus. As far as the beach supplies goes we were provided everything needed with an umbrella, coolers, toys, cart and chairs.

GregoryOur stay at the salty pirate was awesome and we will definitely be returning customers. Positive: There was a lot of space for everyone and the location was perfect for the beach Negative: The pool doesn’t have a shallow end for smaller children but is great for older kids/adults

Samantha D.We went to St Augustine with our best friends and our kids and this house was wonderful. Plenty of space for everyone, the pool was heated and felt amazing even when it was chillier in the mornings or evenings. The proximity to the beach was wonderful just right across the street from an access . We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this property!

KatherineMy family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Salty Pirate. The house was very clean, and provided plenty of space for the five of us. The neighborhood is very nice and peaceful, and it was great to be walking distance from the beach. Plenty of stores and restaurants are within a few minutes drive. And the Salty Pirate’s app was full of helpful information. We would definitely stay here again.

CourtneyPlan on buying things like garbage bags, laundry soap and toilet paper. We were there Monday-Friday and what toilet paper there was gone by Wednesday. This was the only house out of three that we stayed at on our vacation that didn’t provide these things. The house was great. The pool was awesome. The beach is a short fast walk.

Mike J.We just loved our stay here. We were 6 adults, 2 children and an infant and our 2 pets.we were all very comfortable and the location was great. A short drive over the bridge and you were in St. Augustine. Boys in our group went to the TPC and that was also a very short drive. Beach was beautiful and just across the street, a very short walk.It was a great family vacation for all of us!

Linda D.Beautiful property - great location just a few steps to the beach! Very clean and spacious. Had all the amenities we needed. The only downfall was the pool heater didn’t warm the pool quick enough to enjoy. Would definitely book this property again!

Susan M.Visiting for a family wedding. Fabulous property and host. Host called to check on us and if we wanted the pool heated up since it was winter and the weekend was looking nice. Good amenities and cleanliness. I thought the hall bath had another shower ( I was looking for 3 since we had 8 adults) but it was a connected to the shower with the one master. The only unclear part of property description. Comfortable beds, gathering spots and great backyard for relaxing !!

John D.We enjoyed our stay at the Salty Pirate. Our two dogs enjoyed the fenced in backyard. The swimming pool looked nice but was not the weather for that. Property was clean and well taken care of. We will definitely look to stay again when back in St. Augustine area.

RonaldExcellent property! Hard to find any issues with property, location and rental fee. The property has a pool that is fenced in which is extremely clean. The beach is about a 100 yards with a clear access ramp. Property had beach chairs, beach stroller and a cooler. Property management is very responsive. Overall great experience and property and look forward to coming back later this year.

BethanyThe location was fabulous and we loved the beach access, pool and closeness to town. The kids loved their rooms upstairs. The beach chairs, towels and boogie boards were a wonderful perk and kept us from lugging more stuff with us. The beach was easy to get to and had a tidal pool/sandbar that was perfect to play in. The neighborhood was quiet, and we enjoyed our stay.

NelsonWhat a great home for our large group! The home and furnishings felt brand new! Plenty of parking in the large circular driveway. Two living areas to stretch out in. Lots of seating available in the backyard oasis. Just a few steps to the beach. We had a group of 8 adults and two children. Nobody ever had to wait for an open water closet. Really nice that they allow pets as well. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you Proper Group for providing a very high quality product!
