The Sand Castle Oceanview Luxury & Heated Pool

Everything was great. The only thing that to be improved would be washer and dryer. They took forever to run a cycle. The timers said 54 min but would take a hour and a half. No sure if it’s a sensor issue or what.

Great property! Very well equipped. We had 14 people and we had plenty of room for everyone. We never felt crowded. The owners were very thoughtful providing games and toys for the kids and a very well stocked kitchen. Plus beach towels and floats, etc. The view from both decks was amazing. Highly recommend this home!

We enjoyed our stay at the Sand Castle! The pool and living spaces were a hit with our family. The beach view is great, and it’s on a quiet residential street. The only negative about the house is where the bathrooms are located. We made it work but have seen better layouts. The property management group communicated very well with us. All in all, we enjoyed it and would stay there again.

This house was very comfortable for my family and me to stay in for a weekend getaway. We each had our own space and it was able to accommodate 9 people comfortably. The bathroom situation is a little odd. There are three bathrooms, but two are in bedrooms. There is no bathroom on the entry level.

The Sandcastle is a beautiful, clean and spacious home on a quiet street. Even though it is not beachfront the house is situated to provide views of the ocean and sunrise from the main rooms and 2 large decks. The home is well stocked with essentials especially in the kitchen ( except for a broom) There are three bathrooms but two of them are en-suites in the 2 master bedrooms…. So having only one for six adults and three children was a little awkward, but we made it work .. It was advertised that beach chairs are included but there was only one on the property. When I contacted the host, the response was “ what’s there is there” ….. so we went out and bought nine. If you have more than one guest who would like to sit in a beach chair on the beach, you should bring your own. The house supplies just about everything else. Our family had a great week at the Sandcastle

This was a perfect home to spend our week in St. Augustine! The views from this house are incredible and only steps away from the beach itself! The distance to downtown St. Augustine was about 15 minutes, which made the neighborhood nice and quiet as its away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. Property management was very prompt in responding to questions!

1. Could not drop off bags early in garage and website says that is possible to be arranged! It was upsetting since we could not go grocery shopping since our vehicle was packed! 2. Pool was dirty lot of sand in pool when we arrived had to vacuum ourselves. The only way would be cleaned was charge an additional $75. 3. Master bedroom had 2 issues the light has plaster ready to fall in shower and major black spot at bottom of sky light not pretty! 4. Lot of space that we needed including large dining room table. 5. Liked 2 car garage. 6. Liked the decks. 7. Lot of beach supplies.

We had a great stay. The only drawback for some would be the bathroom situation as described on other reviews . But we were all one family, so not a big deal. Butler beach is a very nice beach with great sand. Our family loved the foosball table!

This place was the perfect spot for the whole family to get together. Such easy beach access and the kids loved the pool and playing in the large living room. Amazing sunset views from the two huge porches. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a house big enough to fit the whole family!

The Sandcastle was a wonderful place to stay close to the beach. The house was extremely spacious and clean. Teenagers had their own space and rooms. Lots of decks plus the pool area to enjoy the outdoors. The beach was just a few minutes walk. A great family getaway!

The Sand Castle is a wonderful home in a beautiful location. The view from the top porch to the beach is really nice. Even one row of houses back from the beach we saw dolphins swim by! The kitchen and living space is perfect for a large group and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook for a week including lots of spices. We were a family of 12 and the bathroom situation is a little odd for this many people. There are 3 full baths but two of them are accessible from the two master bedrooms only and do not have normal doors so an early shower or a late bathroom visit might include walking by others sleeping and not having a true shower door. The pool also takes several days to heat up so if you would like to have the pooled heated while you are there make sure to request this ahead of time. Over all the house is beautiful and the location is very nice!

The place was clean and comfortable! We really liked the house, big enough for 15 people there was a couple issues as a blind that fall off from a big window , that was really heavy, this was a little concerning since it could of hurt someone, also the heater of the people wasn’t on the last day, besides that everything ok.

This is a beautiful home located across the street from a very nice beach that will suit most larger groups. Be aware, of the 3 bathrooms, 2 are ensuite meaning that everyone else is typically using the one common bathroom on the middle floor. Residents of 2 bedrooms will need to negotiate stairs to access this bathroom in the evening. In our case It wasn't too much of a problem but it also wasn't expected. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning.

The Sandcastle is a lovely large home that accommodated our family group of 10 adults and two kiddos nicely. All the rooms are nice although the garage level room is cold and dark with no bathroom. Also, there were full size sheets on this bed instead of queen size for a queen bed, which made them come off often during the night. The kitchen was large enough with most everything we needed. Our favorite areas of the home were the two outdoor decks with comfortable furniture overlooking the ocean and gorgeous sunrise views! A couple of cons are no bath soaps in any of the bathrooms and the BBQ grill was badly in need of cleaning. My husband spent a half hour cleaning it for our use. There were plenty of beach towels as well as beach items such as chairs, and pool toys. The pool was great and clean as the pool guys showed up the same day we arrived. The home is an easy walk thru a dune trail to the beach. P.S. There was also a baby highchair, child gates, games, Foo's ball table (needs leveling), kid games, and books. The nightly rate was high, and some things should be worked on, but overall, our family really enjoyed the home.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Sandcastle! Loved that it was walkable to beach and amazing ocean views! The pictures, we felt, did not do the house justice in regard to its beauty! Clean and welcoming! We felt right at home.Only complaint - we wished there was another bathroom that connected to the second queen room. The queen room on the top floor was kind of secluded making it difficult for another couple to stay in the room without having to travel a floor to get to the bathroom on then second floor. Also, when we arrived the bottom floor AC was not working but they were immediate in both response time and repair! Thank you!

Great house for a family reunion. Very spacious for the 12 of us. Absolutely gorgeous views from the ocean. The house have most of the essentials. Walking distance from the beautiful beach. Few things to be aware off for the property management. The AC in the first floor didn’t work. It was very hot. Thankful it was a fan in the closet, but was still very hot. The rug in the family room, was not vacuum, was still peanuts and dirt from the previous guest. When we walked into the house, housekeeping forgot to pick up couple of piles of dirt with dead roaches.

We had a 3 generation group of 8 for our week. We found using the family room and dining room table great for meals and playing family games with a puzzle set up in family room. Meal serving was great using center cabinet for buffets. Appreciated quiet, safe setting of house, with easy walking access to beach. Ocean views were wonderful. Didn’t use outside decks as often due to extreme humidity and temperatures our week. Did appreciated cooling off in pool. Wonderful week vacation for all.

Sand Castle is a nice location with only a five minute walk to the beach. The ocean view from the house is great! Our children enjoyed the pool which was heated as I requested. The house easily accommodated our family of 10 people, but would have been crowded at 15 (sleeping capacity listed). My major complaint was that the kitchen was unacceptably dirty. I cleaned on it for two hours before bringing in groceries, including washing out the entire refrigerator, throwing away opened food including a half loaf of bread, cleaning hair and crumbs from utensil drawers, etc. Thankfully, the property management sent Jenn over in response to my complaint. Jenn “saved the day,” and probably deserves a raise. She cleaned the oven and the grill, purchased new kitchen cloths, and was appropriately apologetic. The house also needs some basic plumbing maintenance (master bath sink sluggish, primary garbage disposal inconsistently not functional, master toilet hard to flush). Master bedroom quilt had what appeared to be blood stains. These things could be easily remedied and should be addressed if the company would like to see the review raised for this property. Because of the good location and great view, it could easily be made into a “5” with a little more work.

We had a wonderful time relaxing with friends and family at the Sandcastle. We had 15 adults and with the trundle bed we had enough bed space for everyone! The pool was nice and the location was so great to be walking distance to the beach. We brought some towels with us but there were plenty of towels and some beach chairs available too. The only minor complaint was that the toilet paper could have been a little better quality but otherwise the house was well stocked with kitchen supplies, cooking dishes, and glassware. Would definitely stay in again!

Beautiful beach house (across the street from the houses right on the beach, but still great views of the ocean from Main and upper floors). Convenient access to beach through right-of-ways and close access to drive on to beach with 4 wheel drive. Nicely stocked including baby gates, pack and plays and all appliances. Could use one more bathroom that isn't "en suite". Very responsive management group.

Had a wonderful experience at the Sandcastle! Plenty of space for our group of 10 adults, especially the common areas, kitchen and balconies. Loved the vaulted ceilings and views from both outdoor spaces. House was sparkling clean and Jordan was very responsive. East beach access and a short drive to restaurants and downtown St. Augustine. Would have been nice to have one additional bathroom/half bath on the 1st or 2nd floor, but overall was a wonderful stay!

This is by far the most amazing property that I've ever rented. The owners have gone over-the-top to consider every convenience imaginable and have stocked the house to the fullest! They have labeled all kitchen cabinets and drawers to eliminate searching for items. The kitchen was stocked with anything you would need to prepare meals for a large group. The consideration and detail that was given to furnishing this house was definitely evident and appreciated. The owners and property manager were very responsive and took care of our every need. There were so many extras in this house, it would be impossible to list them all. The decks were fully furnished and provided great views of the ocean. The beauty and comfort of this house was enjoyed by our whole group. This property has it all and I would definitely love to visit here again! Cathy Baggett

The kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools, the beds were really comfortable, the living area and spaces were set up nicely for group chats and hang outs, the beach access was close, and everything was thought of (from ice, to toilet paper and soap). Great layout for a large family. Very spacious. Home provided everything you needed outside of food & drinks. Plenty of supplies for cooking & the beach/pool. Gorgeous views of the ocean. Short walk to beach access & it was nice because of the location, the beach wasn’t crowded. Only downfall is bathroom access. 1st floor did not include bathroom, so any guests would need to go up a floor to use restroom. Top floor only 1 bathroom which is in the master, so if someone else stayed in the 2nd room upstairs they would need to access master for bathroom or go downstairs. We were all family so it worked for us. It would not prevent us from staying again! Home & furnishings all were clean & very well organized!

This house was exceptionally clean. Absolutely no complaints with the cleanliness. The house was well stocked with supplies. I thought the house was a little overpriced, especially since it is not located on the beachfront. The owner responded in a timely manner to my texts.

We had a great week at this house- the hosts were wonderful, very easy to communicate with, and overall it was a great experience. Very family friendly house in that it has plenty of kid toys/games at the house, a nice “kids room” with plenty of beds, and kid friendly plates/cups etc in the kitchen. The pool was well stocked with floats and toys, and they also had tons of beach chairs in the garage. They also have plenty of beach towels which was great. The kitchen is also very well stocked- extra spices, oils etc, so check it out before grocery shopping. One thing to note if you are traveling with multiple families, is two of the rooms do not have a bathroom, or one on their floor. There is one bathroom that’s not through a bedroom, and it’s on the main floor, so just logistically something to consider. This did not deter from us having a wonderful time with four families!

Plenty of space for two families enjoying a summer vacation together in beautiful St Augustine. The ocean view was nice and the walk to the beach was short. The house is not far from downtown St Augustine’s restaurants and shopping. Would definitely recommend staying there for your next family’s beach vacation.

We visited for a bachelorette party and the house was great. Thoughtfully appointed, lots of beds, great common spaces for hanging out, big kitchen, etc. The location (by the beach) was great. It was a quick 20-30 min to get downtown. And the house looks even better than the pictures.
