Charming House 3/2 on Waterway in Nettles Island Resort near Beach, Pools & Fun!

Reservations are accepted no more than 9 months in advance of stay dates unless you are a repeat renter in good standing. Winter months stays require a 2 weeks minimum stay. To check availability, please use only Saturday check in/check out days from mid December through April. From May through mid December Saturday check in/check out days are preferred but not required. Soothing island colors and comfortable 'beach' decor will welcome you as you enter the cottage. A wall of windows in the family room and kitchen provides a serene view of the waterway and private dock on the quiet East seawall of Nettles Island. It is not uncommon to see dolphins in the morning, many varieties of birds, fish jumping out of the water and occasionally a manatee. The private dock for fishing or leisure time is just a few steps out the back sliding door. Walk, bike or use golf cart 1/2 mile through the Resort and across Ocean Drive to the Nettles Island private beach access, ocean pool and snack bar.

You are welcome to use our bikes, beach and fishing equipment stored under the house. Golf cart transportation is a common form of transportation within the resort and to the beach. The 4 seat golf cart rental fee is $154/week or $400/4-weeks. If you select the golf cart rental when making a booking the related documents will be sent automatically to review. Golf cart fee can be refunded up to 7 days of check in date if applicable.

Nettles Island is a resort community encompassing a 24-hour security gated neighborhood development between the saltwater Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic ocean and located between the Ft. Pierce inlet to the north and the St. Lucie inlet to the south.

Nearby are numerous activities and services available when you are ready to explore the Nettles Island community: 2 pools, hot tubs, close beach and Beach Club, Marina, Clubhouse/ Recreation Center including sports facilities, inside and outside games, The beach, gym, stores, restaurants, etc. are all within walking & biking distance. The private and unspoiled beach and Nettles Island Beach Club, heated pool, snack bar and restrooms with showers is 1/2 mile away. In the house you will find House Rules and 'Things To Do' Notebooks with lots of helpful information about the house, Nettles Island Resort and the surrounding area.

The boat lift is inoperable and the dock can not accommodate boats over 22 feet. It is important to contact me in advance with questions before brining a boat. The driveway can accommodate 2 standard size cars or trucks. Parking arrangements must be made in advance if you are arriving with over-sized vehicle(s) or need more than 2 parking spaces which will include boat trailer.

You can walk or jog for miles and miles along the gently sloping wide beach seeing very few people or bring a flashlight to the beach at night in the summer months and often observe the giant sea turtles come ashore to dig a nest in the sand and lay their eggs...but no touching allowed by law.

The Neighborhood: In the commercial center you will find a marina and the popular Sauder's Landing restaurant and best of all, The Village Grocer. There you will find groceries, baked goods, sandwiches, beer, wine, bait, rent fishing gear, rent movies, buy souvenirs or just have a nice chat with the locals.

At the other end of the development along the waterway, you will find the activity clubhouse (Rec Center) and lots to do: tennis, horseshoes, mini golf, shuffleboard, bocce ball, basketball, tot playground, larger heated pool with 2 hot tubs, kiddie pool, workout room, pool & ping pong tables, arcade games, and a cafe open for breakfast and lunch.

Since we are close to the seawall, the cottage is up 4' feet; therefore, upon entering the front door there are 8 steps up to the living area. The back sliding glass door also has 8 steps outside to ground level at the entrance to the dock.

The kitchen has all the major appliances and is fully stocked for cooking and dining. The adjoining family room has a 43" TV with a nice selection of network channels and is also set up for streaming your favorite shows.

The larger bedroom (sea glass room) includes a comfortable king bed, a small bathroom with a nice size shower, and a 43" wall mounted TV. The second bedroom (mermaid room) has a queen bed. The third bedroom (sea turtle room) has 2 twin beds. All bedrooms have closets and dressers. All rooms have ceiling fans and central A/C and heat.

The Dock: Walk a few steps out the back door to get a closer look at the boats slowly motoring by or cast a line and catch fresh fish for dinner. The dock has a built in bench along with portable table and chairs which make it a great place to fish, eat, read and relax while taking in the view. In the cooler months, open up the sliding door to enjoy the refreshing ocean breeze throughout the house.

Upon check in please review the Guest Notebooks. The house will be stocked with approximately 2 days worth of necessities: toilet paper, tissues, soaps, shampoo for the bathrooms and dish soap, dishwasher soap, paper towels, trash bags and coffee in the kitchen. Stop in to the Village Grocer down the street or Publix supermarket to purchase food and necessities for the duration of your stay. All bed linens, towels (including beach towels) and kitchen towels are provided.

Please be aware that the seawall is very close to the back door. It is recommended that all renters, especially children, be able to swim and must be diligently monitored when at the seawall or on the dock at ALL times. You will find a ladder and life ring on the dock, but these items may not be enough to prevent a drowning due to accidental fall ins.

Security Camera Information: Your safety matters. This property features 2 exterior security cameras located on the exterior upper corners of the house facing the seawall and dock. These cameras do not look into any interior spaces and do not record audio. The cameras are activated by motion and will be active during your stay.

Everything is within walking distance from the house within the Nettles Island Resort. The Nettles Island beach club and beach access is by crosswalk on Ocean Drive across from the entrance of Nettles Island Resort. However, the most common form of transportation within the resort and to the beach is by Golf Cart.

Favorite Places To Eat

The Village Grocer, Sauder's Landing and the Gathering Place....all are within the resort. Shuckers Restaurant is on the beach across the street from the entrance to the resort. There are many places to eat in Jensen Beach across the causeway bridge. You will find numerous menus in the Things To Do Notebook.

The Village Grocer is open 7am - 7pm. It offers a good bit of everything for everyone: good coffee, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, ice cream, baked goods, souvenirs, fishing pole rentals, bait, T-shirts, quick stop food items, some hardware, newspapers, and the local gossip....its all good!
