Donna M.The Ultimate Multi-Generational Vacation Home in Marathon
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Captain’s Retreat in Marathon! Our group included 11 people spanning four generations, and this home was the perfect fit for a multi-generational family vacation.The house is beautifully decorated, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The first floor has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, while the second floor offers four additional beds, three bathrooms, and a fun game room with a pool table. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out without ever feeling crowded.The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and having two washers and dryers—a full-size set downstairs and a compact set upstairs—was an unexpected bonus. With 11 people in the house, they were running constantly and made keeping up with laundry so much easier.Outside, we loved the pool and the relaxing outdoor living space. The only downside during part of our stay was the sargassum in the canal, but that’s completely out of anyone’s control. Thankfully, one morning we woke up to find it had cleared out, and we were able to enjoy the kayaks and the beautiful water.The location couldn’t have been better—just minutes from restaurants, grocery stores, attractions, and anything else you might need during your stay.A special thank you to Eric, who was always quick to respond to any questions we had before and during our visit. We also appreciated the thoughtful welcome gifts waiting for us upon arrival—a very nice touch that made us feel right at home.We highly recommend Captain’s Retreat for anyone planning a family getaway, especially if you’re traveling with multiple generations. It provided the perfect combination of comfort, space, fun, and convenience, and we made memories that will last a lifetime. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

This house is so fun. The layout of the inside and the outside allowed us all to have so much fun and relaxation without feeling on top of each other. The kids loved the pool, hot tub, fishing off the dock, pool table, game system and having huge king beads. The adults loved the spacious rooms and kitchen, hot tub, kayaking, manatees in the canal, pool table, and close by night life. The area is so quiet we felt all alone the whole time there. We will absolutely be returning again and again. Eric was amazing at communicating with us the whole time. I am trying to think of something negative to write but there isn’t one. Please come see for yourself but not on the dates we plan to be there next!!
