The house is situated in the perfect location, four blocks to the Historic Seaport and Duval Street and within walking distance to many wonderful restaurants ( 5 Brother's Cuban Coffee Shop, Manga Manga, Azur & Café Sole') ...to name a few!
Southard Comfort will amaze you with its decorum, local art throughout the house and the attention to detail. Sit on the front porch, enjoying your Cuban Con leche' & Cuban toast, and watch the world go by or enjoy the privacy of the fully landscaped rear deck and heated pool!
This pet-friendly cottage features two bedrooms, one with a king bed (and down duvets), 36" flat screen CATV/DVD and ceiling fan and a guest room with a queen pillow top bed and ceiling fan. Also, there is and an additional loft bedroom, with scuttles (a feature of historic Key West homes), with a queen bed.
The master king bedroom features an en-suite bath that includes a shower/tub and wall mounted hairdryer. The second bath is accessed from the main hallway and includes a shower, hairdryer and full sized front load LG washer/dryer.
The great room, at the rear of the cottage, has a vaulted wood beamed ceiling, and French doors across the entire back wall that opens to the private foliaged deck. The deck includes a heated pool, outdoor Bose stereo speaker system, gas grill, teak lounge chairs w/umbrella and teak dining table and chairs covered (or not) with a retractable canvas awning. The awning creates the perfect outdoor dining space or a retreat from Key West's brilliant sunny days. The gardens are lush... filled with many tropical plants and abundant orchids.
The great room features a 42" Smart WiFi HDTV w/ Netflix & Amazon Video, DVD player with a DVD Library, wireless high speed 5G fiber internet access, a stereo, an iPod station, library with best sellers and local books of interest and comfortable intimate seating.
The colorful and well-equipped kitchen has newly installed Retro appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator w/ice maker, glass top stove, garbage disposal AND everything you could desire to prepare a gourmet feast!

Southard Comfort is perfectly appointed and comfortable. There is nothing I can suggest to improve the experience. The house is nicely decorated, the kitchen is completely outfitted, the location is great and the pool area is beautifully landscaped and tropical. Denise is a very caring owner. We enjoyed walking two doors down for Cuban coffee and breakfast sandwiches at Five Brothers. There are several other excellent restaurants nearby but off the tourist track.

Mainly because it will lessen our chances to get back here. My wife and I used to live in Key West for close to 10 years. We had our house and a couple of rental properties and vacation properties. Then we made the unfortunate decision to move to New Hampshire. Lovely state. Uninhabitable in the winter. We headed south for a month. This property was everything we had hoped for. Manageable for two people and a diva dog. Perfect location on Southard. Get to listen in on the 6 AM discussions by the 5 Brother's Philiospohers, ranging from why Trump/Biden was/is great/bad/indifferent to how to properly give CPR in the age of Covid. House is a tribute to Denise's design style. Furnishing are modern with eclectic touches, comfortable and homey. Pool is private, tropical and heated! Denise is a perfectionist and it shows in this property. Nothing is missed. The only issue that we had was slow internet, so because of that you should probably not rent this property so that we have a chance to book it again.

We've been coming to Key West almost every year since 1986, staying for longer visits as we've left more and more of work behind. We spent a month here in 2018 and loved it. Due back this April. The front porch, for reading the paper and drinking our 5 Brothers sweet con leche from nearly next door, and the backyard with pool for relaxing and refreshing dips and naps, were our favorites. Fenced-in property for our Westie and my bike. Friends over for dinner al fresco by candlelight on the back deck. Quiet neighborhood, even with the breakfast gang outside Pepe's (5 Brothers). Nice people nearby, comfortable bed and rooms, easy to get everywhere, and charming. Can't wait to return.

Super comfortable. Love the pool and the back patio. Great location. Close walk to several great restaurants. Far enough from the Duval madness that you can ignore it completely and close enough to walk there if you want. Denise is very helpful and really knows Key West!

Colin C.Experiencing the real Key West
We wanted to experience the real Key West so decided to rent a house. We were met by the owner Denise who showed us around her house and introduced us to the neighbours who were extremely helpful during our stay. The house was beautifully clean and well fitted out with all modern appliances and comfortable beds with crisp fresh linen. High speed Wi-Fi enabled us to keep in touch with the UK. The secluded rear garden with pool was a bonus for outside eating both for breakfast and evening meals although Duval Street restaurants and bars were only 10 min walk away. We've recommended the house to friends and are looking to return next year.

No we do not. However, our street and the 2 perpendicular streets have numerous nonresidential parking spots for your use.
