More Heat Needed
The property was actually very nice and the landlord was very helpful. One major problem: winter storm for fern rod colder than normal temps for Florida for several days. The multi room unit had only one heating installation: a new split heater/air conditioner installed in the bedroom. Heat did not carry through to the great room (which was a combined food preparation area, living room, foyer, and an adjacent bathroom. Running the unit at 75° (for heat) on the coldest night proved too much for the electrical systems. A breaker flipped, and the heat ceased. The landlord did come in the morning when I reported the heat loss and situation, reset the breaker, and revealed to me where the breaker box was located. He also answered my question about the AC unit in the great room area which had a button for heat. Landlord clarified that that heat button was not functional. This was the only major fault with the unit – insufficient heating capacity available for colder than average temperatures. I need to add that landlord also supplied a missing extra blanket that was listed as available in the unit, but was not in the unit anywhere to be found. When called, he immediately brought it by, and “saved the day“ (‘er, night!)Otherwise, it was a most pleasant two week stay! Landlord was very helpful with various questions tennant post about the property and the area.
