Close to Beach - The charming coastal gem located in the exclusive family-friendly subdivision of Emerald Shores in Miramar Beach will keep you coming back year after year. The cul-de-sac location is perfect for the family beach vacation of your dreams. The home is a 5-10 minute walk to the beach OR you can take the FREE beach tram which runs continuously 9am - 5pm daily during peak season, weather permitting.
Best Beach Access in the Area - The Emerald Shores Beach Pavilion has the VERY BEST BEACH ACCESS in the entire area! The exclusive beach pavilion offers private, gated beach access, private restrooms with changing areas (no long treks back to the house), outdoor showers, beach chair and umbrella rental services, parking for the beach cart, and our own private snack bar. The beach pavilion is located directly across from Leeward Key, very near Kenny D's beach bar on Scenic Gulf Drive. To access the beach you simply walk 5-8 minutes from Sandpiper Cottage OR you can take the free beach tram.
Sandpiper Cottage features - The single story flows easily from the common areas to the bedrooms and is perfect for families young and old who don't want stairs! The home features an open concept layout with a high vaulted ceiling. The beautifully appointed main areas flow together for relaxing family gatherings in the spacious living room, dining room, and kitchen. The walk-in pantry/laundry room is conveniently located directly off the kitchen. The house sleeps eight people in three beautifully decorated bedrooms with large closets and a sofa bed in the living room. Two full bathrooms have plenty of storage and hooks for all your beach towels. The master bedroom features a full-size desk in an office nook - perfect if you need to "work from home" while at the beach! You'll enjoy free high-speed Wi-Fi for TV streaming apps and the TVs also have basic cable.
Recent updates with all new paint, new flooring, new finishes, and new furnishings give Sandpiper Cottage its relaxing clean coastal charm.
Animal-Free Property - As fond as we are of our furry companions, we must stress that this home strictly prohibits all animals. This is due to severe allergy considerations of some of our regular guests. We kindly ask that you refrain from bringing any animals during your stay. If you're seeking accommodations that are animal and pet-friendly, please inform us. We would be more than happy to assist in finding a suitable alternative for you! There are several pet friendly homes in our neighborhood!
Bed and Bath Details - The primary bedroom features a king bed, side tables, a tall chest of drawers with tons of storage, a full-size desk, a wall-mounted 4K smart TV, and a ceiling fan. The ensuite bathroom features a large double vanity, separate shower, Jacuzzi tub and huge walk-in closet. The second bedroom has a king bed with side tables, a small storage chest, cable TV, large closet and a ceiling fan. The full-size guest bath located next to the second bedroom, includes a shower/tub combo, 8 hooks for all the beach towels. The third bedroom, designed for children, has a twin bed with a trundle, a tall chest of drawers for storage and a closet. If you have young children, you'll appreciate the portable high chair and portable crib during your stay.
Beach Toys & Family Fun Night Games - Additional features that make Sandpiper Cottage ready for family fun include a fully stocked beach box with chairs, boogie boards, skimmer boards, all kinds of buckets, shovels and molds to make sand castles and many other toys for children of all ages. We include a large beach cart, rolling cooler, beach umbrella and other beachy items. For family fun night or rainy day activities we have a wide variety of games, cards, and puzzles for kids ages 2-80. We even include an extra HDMI cable already attached with a power strip for those kids (and adults) traveling with their game console!
Calling all Chefs - If you're cooking for the crew, you'll love the open kitchen fully stocked with all the extras: chef's knives, cutting boards, baking pan, sheet pans, new blender, new toaster, new double Keurig with full-size coffee pot and individual K-cup function. There is even a Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville machine for frozen slushies and smoothies. Enjoy your own private gas grill right outside for the perfect summer barbecues!
Emerald Shores Neighborhood - Emerald Shores is a private gated community with 2 pools, a basketball course and a tennis court. The central pool is heated in winter. This is a family friendly environment designed for walking and biking. There is a bike rental stand nearby (behind the Leeward Key building at the south gate).

Armband Policy - A non-refundable HOA fee of $30 per reservation will be collected on-site when you check-in at the beach pavilion. The fee is payable by credit card only. Armbands are required for ages 13 and up. The reserving guest will need to provide the beach attendant with evidence of your current lease agreement with a valid id. The number of armbands issued may not exceed the number of guests on the reservation. All guests age 13 and up should wear armbands while at the pool areas, around the pavilion, and at the beach. Please reach out if you have questions about the policy. It is a one-time $30 resort fee that covers the entire household.
Smoke-Free, Vape-Free Environment - We kindly ask for your cooperation in maintaining our property as a smoke-free and vape-free environment. This extends to all indoor and outdoor spaces. Evidence of smoking on property will result in additional cleaning fees.

Ok, so every house says it's clean-- but really, we are OFTEN praised for how clean our home is, thanks to our wonderful private cleaning staff. We DO NOT use a 'pooled' cleaning staff. The same wonderful cleaning team comes in and treats our home like you would want them to treat yours! There are many wonderful things to love about Sandpiper Cottage - all the care and thought we've put into providing everything you can think of to make your family vacation wonderful including games for all ages, beach toys and other special treats awaiting you when you arrive!
Why Kids Love It
We are in a cul-de-sac in a neighborhood right next to the beach. Kids are always playing outside and running to the pools, the tennis courts, the basketball court or waiting for the ice cream truck to come through! Inside the house we've stocked lots of different games for all ages as well as provided an HDMI cable in case you decide to bring your gaming console. We provide HIGH SPEED internet to power al the devices! (We often work from there when we are in town so the internet has to be GOOD!)
Miramar Beach has tons of fun activities including the huge outlet mall and other family friendly options.
Emerald Shores Private Beach Pavilion - ONLY for Emerald Shores visitors- our beach pavilion has beach wagon parking, bathrooms, snack bar and outdoor showers as well as very easy access to the beach! Sandpiper Cottage visitors have access to this exclusive beach pavilion and all the other resort amenities - 2 pools, tennis court and basketball court!
The Dollar General is so close and we go there so often for ice cream, snacks and goodies!! You can also walk to Kenny D's, Pompano Joes or Captain Dave's if you are hungry!

The beach is really only a 5-7 minute walk (even with littles) BUT you can ride the tram that runs in Emerald Shores during the busy season!

It was such a pleasure to stay at Sandpiper Cottage. The house was spotless, the walk to the beach wasn't far at all, the pool next to the house was always empty, and Kim and Spencer were easy to communicate with. It was one of our best stays yet since we've been coming to Destin! I'm looking forward to staying here again next summer.

We stayed at 36 Opal Cove, Emerald Shores. The house was VERY clean, beach was easily accessible, pools were close, communication of what to expect and what was provided was very well articulated. Owner is very responsive with answers to my questions. The owners provided so many nice touches from the goodie basket to the Keurig machine to make us feel welcome!! I can’t wait to return!

Wanted to get away and Kim and Spencer had just the space. It's a great location and a great bungalow with 3 bedrooms and space for a big family. You can tell this place was updated and they spared no expense. Really quick walk to a private beach and great pools in the neighborhood. If you are headed to Destin/Miramar Beach, this is the place to stay!

This home is fabulous! The owners are very meticulous and have thought of everything. There is a lot of attention to detail throughout the home. They have taken the time to put together a welcome book- which was also sent as a digital copy when I booked. It was nice to be able to see this ahead of time since we had never been to the area. It includes information about the home, the neighborhood, along with area restaurants and things to do. There is also a welcome basket on the counter that included a large variety of snacks which was very appreciated after a long day of traveling. There are also labels on switches to indicate what they are for (lights, fans) which is so helpful when you're not familiar with a home. It's the little things that make a big difference. The home is VERY clean- immaculate! The owners provide the basics for your stay: small dish soap, new sponge, travel sized toiletries in both bathrooms, a roll of paper towels, and some toilet paper. This was especially appreciated since we flew and only had carry-on luggage. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes, cookware, and towels. Communication with the owner was excellent from the first time I inquired about the property. There was always a quick response to emails when I had questions. I appreciated the information and suggestions she provided (Walmart grocery delivery was perfect and the Dollar General is very short walk. The Dollar General is very nice and they sell alcohol and a ton of food- different from what I've seen in NY). I highly recommend the grocery delivery- who wants to spend time grocery shopping when you're on vacation? I really appreciated this suggestion! The neighborhood is lovely. The landscaping at the house and around the whole neighborhood is gorgeous and everything is very nicely maintained. We went to the bigger pool- there are plenty of lounge chairs and lots of space. It's an easy walk to the gorgeous white sand beach and to some restaurants. There are several restaurants that are right on the water. It was just what we were looking for. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay again!
