This apartment is located at the north end of ANNA MARIA Island at the corner of Pine Avenue and Bayfront Boulevard. Across the street on Bayfront Boulevard is the historic Anna Maria City Pier and restaurant, which dates from 1910; the Bayfront Plaza, home to "two scoops" Ice cream shop, coffee house, and Cafe, is located directly across Pine Ave. Also located at the Bayfront Plaza is the Anna Maria post office and shops for unique apparel, antiques, art, and special items.
Just 20 ft from your door, take the trolley that runs the length of the Island to gorgeous Coquina Beach, passing through Holmes Beach, which sits in the center of this peaceful island. The mainland can be reached via two bridges extending from the eastern shore towards Bradenton. The southern tip reaches out across the intra-costal towards Longboat Key and Sarasota.

Inside Scoop

Did you Know? The island, some seven miles long, was named Ana-Maria-Cay by the Spanish to honor the Virgin Mary and her mother, Anne, and was explored around 1530 by Spanish adventurers.
In 1892, Bean set up his homestead on the island's northern tip in a scenic beach area known as Bean Point. Bean laid the foundation for the initial settlement of the surrounding area, which would later become the City of Anna Maria.
After Bean passed away in 1898, ownership of his land was transferred to his son, George Wilhelm Bean. He partnered with Charles Roser to further the island's development and see his father’s legacy fulfilled.
