Welcome to CR Getaway, a 4-bedroom, 3-bath vacation home designed for families who want the space and conveniences of a private Orlando home without needing an oversized vacation villa. With two king bedrooms, fun Disney-inspired spaces for the kids, a private screened pool and covered lanai, you'll have plenty of room to spread out while still enjoying the vacation together.

Step outside and you may find yourself spending more time at home than you expected. Start the morning with coffee overlooking the lake, cool off in your private pool after the parks, or let the kids swim while dinner is on the grill and the adults relax nearby. With no homes directly behind you, the pool and lanai feel like your own little retreat.

Room to be together—and do your own thing
One of the things we love most about the home is its layout. The kids can watch a favorite movie while the adults linger over dinner or play cards at the table. Someone can catch the game in the living room while others gather around the kitchen or dining table. Outside, swimming, grilling, reading and conversation can all happen at the same time.

You don't have to plan an activity for everyone. Just enjoy being together.
The home sleeps up to 10 with two king bedrooms, including a first-floor king near a 3/4 bath; a puzzle-themed bedroom with two double beds; and a Disney pirate room with two twin beds and a hand-painted mural created by a Disney artist.

The fully equipped kitchen, oversized breakfast bar, dining area, washer and dryer, books, games and Disney touches make the home comfortable for everything from a family Disney vacation to an extended Florida stay.

Resort days are vacation days, too
The Paradise Palms clubhouse is just a few minutes’ walk from the house, so it's easy to spend a day enjoying the resort without getting in the car. Amenities include a resort pool and slide, splash area, hot tubs, sports courts, fitness center, game room, movie theater, playground, bar/grill, coffee bar and ice cream counter. Make CR Getaway your Florida home base
Walt Disney World may bring you to Orlando, but it doesn't have to be the whole vacation. We've often used CR Getaway as our home base—heading out for a beach day, exploring another Florida town, visiting the coast or discovering somewhere new, then coming home to our own pool and beds at the end of the day.
And sometimes we don't go anywhere at all.

A little about our home
CR Getaway isn't one of many investment properties we operate. It's our family's one Orlando vacation home.

We bought it after years of bringing our own growing family to Disney and realizing how quickly multiple hotel rooms added up—and how much nicer it was to have a kitchen, living room, laundry, private pool and somewhere everyone could simply be together.

Over the years, we've filled the house with pieces of our own vacations: Disney artwork and movies, books and games, puzzles our family completed together, and little touches that make it feel like a home rather than just another rental.

Unique Benefits

Of all the vacation homes we could have chosen, this one stood out for its setting.

We wanted to be near Walt Disney World, but we also wanted a place where our family could slow down when we weren't at the parks. Paradise Palms gave us the resort amenities we wanted, and this particular home gave us something even better—a peaceful location overlooking the water with no homes directly behind us.

Step outside and the private pool, covered lanai and lake become an extension of the living space. The kids can swim while dinner is on the grill, someone can relax with a book by the pool, and everyone can still be together. Even after all these years, everyone gets excited when a family of ducks waddles by or a sandhill crane spreads its wings and trumpets a warning from across the water.

We're also very close to the Paradise Palms clubhouse—about a few minutes' walk. It's close enough to easily enjoy the resort pool, splash area, sports, movie theater, game room, coffee bar and ice cream counter, yet far enough away that the home still feels peaceful. Resort amenity hours vary.

Inside, the layout works especially well for families and multiple generations. There are two king bedrooms, including one on the first floor near a 3/4 bath, plus two children's/family bedrooms upstairs. There’s plenty of room to gather when everyone wants to be together, and enough space to spread out when someone wants a little quiet time of their own.

And when it's time to head to the parks, our Four Corners/West Kissimmee location gives us several route options. We're approximately 6 miles from Disney's Western Way entrance, and Hollywood Studios is about 8.8 miles via Funie Steed Road.

It's the combination we were looking for ourselves: close to the fun, with a comfortable place to come home to.

Why Kids Love It

Let's start with the obvious: their own private pool!

For many of the kids in our family, the pool is every bit as exciting as the parks. They can swim while the adults relax poolside, prepare dinner on the grill or sit under the covered lanai—and we admit, the kids aren't the only ones who love the pool.

Then there's the Mickey pirate room, a favorite with kids and adults alike. The hand-painted mural was created by a Disney artist and includes three hidden Mickeys for kids to find. Treasure maps inspired by Adventureland add to the pirate theme.

The puzzle room has its own story. The Disney puzzles displayed on the walls were put together by our family, adding another little bit of Disney fun to the room.

And when everyone wants a change of scenery, Paradise Palms is just a short walk away. Kids can enjoy the resort pool and slide, splash area, game room, sports courts, playground and movie theater. There's even an ice cream counter for an afternoon treat. Hours and scheduled activities vary.

Back at the house, we keep books, games and Disney movies for quieter time between adventures.

Keep your eyes open for some Florida neighbors! From the screened lanai and pool deck—or even from the windows of the two themed bedrooms overlooking the lake—kids can watch for ducks, turtles, sandhill cranes and other Florida wildlife that may visit the natural area beyond the home. Paradise Palms also has protected wetlands and a boardwalk that's fun to explore together on a morning or evening walk.

Sometimes the best vacation memories happen on the days you never leave the resort.

Traveling with little ones? The private pool area has several added safety features, including a removable safety fence between the home and pool, an alarm on the patio door, and a self-closing exterior door. As with any pool, children should always be actively supervised around the water.

LOCATION – WEST KISSIMMEE / FOUR CORNERS
CR Getaway is located in Paradise Palms Resort in the Four Corners/West Kissimmee area, near the western end of US-192 and convenient to US-27.

One of the things we appreciate most about our location is having more than one way to get to Walt Disney World. We're approximately 6 miles from Disney's Western Way entrance, with access via Avalon Road, giving guests an alternative to traveling east on US-192.

Funie Steed Road provides another convenient route toward the parks; Disney's Hollywood Studios is approximately 8.8 miles from the house via Funie Steed Road. The best route can vary depending on your destination and traffic.

Being in Four Corners also means you're close to the everyday conveniences that make a vacation—or an extended stay—easier. Restaurants, grocery stores, shopping and other services can be found along both US-192 and US-27, giving you plenty of options in either direction. Stock the kitchen for the week, have groceries delivered once you're settled in, grab a quick meal on the way home from the parks, or take an evening away from Disney and explore the surrounding area.

Nearby entertainment includes the Margaritaville Resort Orlando/Sunset Walk area and Island H2O Water Park, along with additional shopping, dining and entertainment throughout the US-192 and US-27 corridors.

Our location works especially well for guests who want to enjoy the theme parks without spending every day of their vacation in the theme-park corridor. From CR Getaway, it's easy to enjoy Disney days, resort days, meals at home and everything else Central Florida has to offer.

Favorite Places To Eat

We have plenty of favorites, depending on whether we're looking for a night out, an easy family dinner or just dessert!

Close to home, one of our favorites is **The Wharf at Sunset Walk** for seafood and a fun night out. **Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar** is another family favorite—not only for dining in, but also for their family-style takeout dinners when we'd rather bring dinner back to the house and relax. Seafood lovers will also find several crab-boil restaurants throughout the Kissimmee/Four Corners area.

We almost always have a few favorites in mind when we're at **Disney Springs**. **The Polite Pig** is our choice for barbecue, while **D-Luxe Burger** and **Earl of Sandwich** are great for a more casual meal. For a sit-down meal, we enjoy **Paradiso 37** and **Summer House on the Lake**. When the kids are with us, **T-REX** is as much about the experience as the meal—the dinosaurs and prehistoric setting make dinner part of the entertainment.

And then there's dessert! One of our favorite Disney Springs treats is **Swirls on the Water**. Rather than everyone choosing just one flavor, we like to order a DOLE Whip/soft-serve flight and share it. It's a fun and relatively affordable way to taste flavors we might not otherwise try.

When we're ready for something considerably richer—in both chocolate and price!—we head to **Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop** for a sundae or another chocolate treat.

If you're spending some time in **Celebration**, we enjoy **Columbia Restaurant**. It's a great place to combine a meal with a walk around the lake and through Celebration Town Center. (More about Celebration in the Inside Scoop area)

These are simply some of our family's favorites—one of the advantages of staying in this area is that you'll find everything from quick takeout and casual family restaurants to memorable vacation meals within an easy drive.

**LOOK BEYOND THE THEME PARKS**

We love Disney, but some of our favorite Central Florida days happen away from the parks. If you have a little extra time—or you're staying with us for a few weeks—here are a few places worth exploring.

**Celebration** – Spend an afternoon or evening wandering this beautiful, walkable town originally developed by The Walt Disney Company. Walk around the lake, browse Town Center, have lunch or dinner and take some time to explore the neighborhoods—the homes have wonderful individual character. It's especially fun during Halloween, when many residents decorate their homes, and during the Christmas season when Celebration Town Center hosts its annual **Now Snowing** festivities.

**See the manatees at Blue Spring State Park** – If you're visiting during the colder winter months, this is a wonderful Florida experience. Manatees gather in the warm spring water, sometimes by the hundreds. It's a beautiful place to walk and see a side of Florida that's very different from the attractions. Seasonal conditions and entry requirements vary, so check the park's current information before heading out.

**Take an airboat ride at Wild Florida** – Want to see the *other* Florida? Head out onto the wetlands on an airboat and look for alligators, birds and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Wild Florida also has an Alligator Park and drive-through safari, so it's easy to make a day of it.

**Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive** – For a quieter adventure, explore the Lake Apopka North Shore Wildlife Drive. Take your time driving through the wetlands and keep your eyes open for alligators, birds and other Florida wildlife. It's a completely different experience from Orlando's theme parks—and that's exactly why we enjoy it.

One of the best parts about having a vacation home in Central Florida is discovering something new each time we visit. Give yourself permission to take a day away from the parks—you may find one of your favorite vacation memories somewhere you never expected.
