Palm Coast and the Flagler beaches have 19 miles of a pristine and unspoiled coast. The coquina rocks found here are one of the largest outcroppings ever found. They are a geological wonder made of sedimentary rock made almost entirely of fossil debris created during the Pleistocene era (12,000 - 2.5 million years ago). Palm Coast and the Flagler beaches are a haven for bird lovers. The habitats attract over 200 species of birds and there are 6 trails listed on the Great Florida Birding Trail.
