SANDY FLATS- Stunning New Oceanside House with Gorgeous views, Dock & Pool

Great Visit, as Always!

Lynn and Frieda are fantastic hosts, and the property is hard to beat in the Keys. Excellent location, close to restaurants, shopping, groceries, etc. You are surrounded by water on three sides, with great views for sunsets and sunrises. You can take a boat straight out onto the Atlantic, or chill out at the pool and a fish off of the dock. I also love that there are three full bathrooms inside of the bedrooms as well. This place is a must stay if you were going to be in Marathon!

Sandy Flats ️

This Florida rental was exceptional. We had booked this property two years prior to our vacation date and were using this as a family vacation. Unfortunately, a week before our vacation my Father passed away very tragically and we were going to use this family vacation to heal and process my Fathers death. When we arrived this rental was beautiful! The property was located right on the water surrounded by kayakers, boaters, and GORGEOUS sunsets. The owners live right next door and are so kind, they continually asked if we needed anything, let us know they were there for us, and kept their distance giving us the privacy we needed to vacation. Sandy flats has absolutely everything you could imagine. Brand new appliances, every bedroom has a bathroom, top tier cooking utensils, a grill, kayaks, paddle boards, floats. the pool. They even have spices and cooking products that were available. While we were there I traveled with my Grandfather 83, Grandmother 82, Mother 63, and husband 31. There was something for each of us to do whether it was kayaking, watching TV inside in the cool air conditioning, sitting under the house in the breeze way taking a nap or playing cards, or sitting on the balcony in the front of the house reading a book. The house was big enough for 3 couples to maintain privacy and have a good time together as well. During our stay my Grandfather was admitted into the hospital and the owners came over right away to comfort us and let us know where the hospital was, and let us know they were there if we needed anything. He did stay in the hospital from Tuesday-Friday. The hospital is brand new and 5 minutes from the rental. Everyone was super nice, thorough and accommodating at the facility. So if you are traveling with elders there is an emergency room very close by. All in all this rental was a 10/10! I would recommend to anyone looking to have a relaxing vacation. You can either stay in the whole time and cook or visit the many restaurants that surround the location. We didn’t have a bad meal anywhere we went. Every restaurant was delicious, inexpensive and greatly staffed. One hour to Key Largo and Key West if you’re looking for a day trip and a dock if you have a boat or wanted to rent one, right outside your door. Sandy flats is the way to go !

A Slice of Paradise

We would recommend Sand Flats, to everyone who enjoys the better things in life! Every detail was well thought of to ensure you had everything you needed to have an amazing vacation. The house was spotless, and everything brand new. Every morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise, seen from almost every room in the house. We Able to to walk onto our boat and have direct access to the ocean and the gulf and then come home to a nice cool dip in the pool. The owners, Lynn and Frieda made us feel like family.. we most certainly will be back!

Beautiful Home With Fantastic Views

Close to beach, restaurants, and shopping. Home was fully equip with everything you need and then some. Lynn and Freida are very nice and the key lime pie was the best we ever had. The sunrise from front deck was amazing as were all the views from the house. Great dock area with very nice pool and outdoor sitting area.All the furniture and all the beds were very comfortable. Kitchen also had everything you needed for cooking. Would highly recommend staying here. Hope to stay again next year. Thanks again Lynn and Freida for sharing your beautiful home. Your home away from home… but better!

It’s hard not to just simply over do the superlatives when talking about this property. I’ll try to refrain from that. We were guests of the Cutting’s (Paul and Chris) as a thank you for hosting them in Montana for a “bucket list” flyfishing adventure. We had an unusually long winter in Montana and to say we were looking forward to this trip would seriously understate our excitement for this new experience. My wife (Barbara) and I have been blessed when it comes to travel both in the US and internationally, we’ve seen many vacation rentals, but none come close to Sandy Flats. It is evident as you arrive that serious thought went into the layout and construction of this vacation home. Everything is well thought out and the quality of the appointments, furnishings and decor is high and consistent throughout the property. The outdoor spaces, pool and dock mirror the house. I’m a “foodie” and love to cook… the kitchen is exceptional, cooking for two to a dozen is simple. Anything you would expect in a gourmet kitchen is at your fingertips. The large flat screens and the technology necessary to fully utilize them was spectacular, we were able to stream or cast from all streaming services without any issues. I’d be remiss if I don’t mention the bedding… my wife has a hard time in new spaces in new beds… the mattress and bedding were exceptional and we both slept exceptionally well. If you are considering this property, don’t look any further. The Landry’s are exceptional hosts and we feel blessed to have found them. If you are looking for a exceptional vacation experience don’t miss out on this piece of paradise. We will be back next year and have personally recommended Sandy Flats to friends and family. Last but not least… we were welcomed by a delightful Key Lime pie in the freezer… thank you Nanny!

Great Location! Lovely Stay!

This home is gorgeous with beautiful views. The house fit all our needs and was the perfect rental for 6 adults. The kitchen and baths were very neat and clean and had everything you needed. The pool is an extra nice bonus! The location is perfect with a lot of very good eating places close by. This comfortable home made for a fantastic, relaxing getaway. I would definitely recommend this beautiful property and stay here again!

The perfect vacation home on a quiet canal

Sandy Flats is a rare find and the absolute perfect vacation home located on a quiet canal. The hosts built this home with loving care and attention to every detail, inside and out and tastefully furnished it. It is immaculately clean, bright, and roomy and has private spaces tucked around every corner for larger families. When my husband and I weren’t outside, we relaxed on the two large comfortable sofas and enjoyed the stunning views of the ocean. We love cooking, and the gorgeous kitchen had every single necessity we reached for. The bedrooms have king size beds with comfortable mattresses and bedding (important), a TV, and its own ensuite bathroom which is private and rare. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the Adirondack gliders on the balcony as we watched the sun rise. The covered parking area under the home was a plus for us. As if the inside wasn’t enough, we loved the private lounge area under the home, the pool, and the sitting area at the quiet canal. The house is three houses from the open waters, and has a 60ft dock. My husband and I have vacationed in the Keys for many years and we found our home away from home. The Landrys are a wonderful and kind family and we are blessed to have found them. This is our 2nd year renting from them (they also own Sandy Flats), and we have never had a complaint or issue. If you are looking for a blissful vacation, don’t miss out on this piece of paradise.

Best vacation house rental!

We stayed at "Sandy Flats" for our annual Keys vacation. This house totally knocked our socks off! It was a beautiful, clean home with spectacular views, and was equipped with everything we needed. It was a 30 second boat ride from the dock to open water. Flexible boat ties/ mooring whips, so it didn't hit the dock (and it was very windy a couple of the days). Nice, shaded, outside space under the house to relax. Pool was super clean! Plenty of parking space, including trailer parking. The inside of the house was beautifully appointed, very comfortable and homey. The owners definitely put a lot of work into making sure renters enjoy their time at this house! We had a homemade key lime pie waiting for us when we arrived, it was so good!! Labeling light switches may seem like a small thing, but totally helped. The list of favorites for restaurants/eateries did not disappoint, as we went to a couple of the recommended places more than once. We had such a great time, and we don't want to stay anywhere else! We have rented other places in Marathon and Islamorada, and this is definitely our favorite. Thank you, Lynn, Lora, and family!!

Perfection-Comfort-Class

Our March stay can be summarized with one word-perfect. We were 3 couples that all marveled at this new home built and furnished with quality in mind. Every kitchen utensil imaginable, very comfortably furnished, and acute attention to detail. The lower poolside level was furnished with very comfortable seating and was perfect for a nap. Ocean views from virtually everywhere was a treat. We honestly wanted for nothing and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet neighborhood. With plenty of space for six people, this was the finest of any rental we've had over many years. Great job Lynn & Lora!
