About this rental
The Blue Manatee (formerly Sunshade Villa), located in Key Colony Beach, in the Marathon area, is a gorgeous, brand new, designer decorated canal front duplex with a modern coastal feel! Each side is rented separately and has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a private pool and all the amenities you can imagine for an amazing vacation in the fabulous Florida Keys!
CABANA CLUB PRIVILEGES! The Cabana Club in located in Key Colony Beach on the ocean. It has a large pool, beach area, tiki bar and restaurant with a full menu! It is open from 10am-7pm. It has wifi, is family friendly and is smoke free.
There is 2309 square feet of living space, consisting of two living areas, one upstairs and one downstairs (with a sleeper sofa). High speed wireless internet is available free of charge and there are 6 TVs (living room has cable; others have Netflix, Hulu, etc). Kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook and more! Keurig (pod and pot), pots, pans, dishes (adult & kids), silverware, baking sheets, muffin tin, Vitamix blender, food processor, crockpot, Dutch oven, fondue pot, air fryer, pressure cooker, hand mixer, bar tender tools and more.
Upstairs is the open kitchen, dining and living area with a covered patio (with dining table and additional outdoor seating) overlooking the beautiful private pool with white marble and turf. The Master Suite upstairs has a king bed, en suite bathroom with two walk in closets. Also upstairs are the bunk beds with a full trundle and a hall bathroom.
Downstairs is a second living room area with a TV and sleeper sofa, a Junior Master with a king bed and en suite bathroom, and a guest room with a queen bed and bathroom that opens to the bedroom and hallway. The living room opens to a covered patio area with a Summer Kitchen with gas grill, BBQ accessories, dining table and furniture and outdoor shower!
There is a 35' Dock with fish cleaning station. If you are bringing a boat, the length of the boat cannot be more than 35' with the outboard motor in the tilt up position and pulpit and anchor ($200 a day imposed by the city if not followed) . The property cannot accommodate a boat trailer. Key Colony Beach provides trailer parking for a fee of $150 per week or $300 per month. It is available on a first come first serve basis. Please see below for additional details on trailer parking.
We provide all bed linens, bath and beach towels. In addition, we provide these for your entire stay: paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, dish washer detergent, basic cleaning supplies, sponge, green scrub pad, trash bags, laundry detergent, stain spray, bleach, bar soap for bathrooms.
There is a water front park on 12th Street (see pictures) where lots of neighbors gather to watch the sunset and sing songs. It's a wonderful experience you won't want to miss! (sorry, no swimming, but you can enjoy the beach and swimming at The Cabana Club!).

There are a variety of restaurants and shops in Key Colony Beach. There are plenty of shops, activities and restaurants in Marathon, all within a 10 minute drive!
There are two beaches in Marathon: Coco Plum Beach (8 miles) and Sombrero Beach (4.4 miles). The Cabana Club also has a small beach where you can sun and swim!
There are two grocery stores: Publix and Winn Dixie (2.6 miles).
The property has a 7 night minimum (required by the City of Key Colony Beach) and is limited to 10 guests, including infants (no exceptions). You are required to provided the names and ages of all guest and well as your license plate information. There is a form you will complete and it must be on site and available for inspection by Code Enforcement and/or Police Departments of the City of Key Colony Beach.
We provide check in information (address, access code and other information) the day before arrival.
Boat Trailer Parking: First come, first serve. The boat may not be left on the trailer. The trailer cannot have a lock on it. If you arrive on the weekend or after business hours, you will go to City Hall the next morning (before noon) to pay for and get your permit. If the permit is not on the trailer by noon, it could be towed. The city will provide a waterproof permit and zip tie to secure the permit to your trailer. When you go to City Hall, you will need to provide the vacation rental address, the boat trailer tag and number and the trailer VIN number. Questions? Please call Key Colony Beach City Hall Ext 2. We provide the form you need to complete and take with you to City Hall.

Amazing House with every need possible!
This house is absolutely stunning. The decor is beautiful, it is very clean and a wonderful location. They have stocked the house with EVERYTHING you need for your stay. There was lots of wildlife in the canal and made great for fishing right in the back yard! Communication was great and look forward to visiting again!**my only suggestion would be to add better lighting in the bathrooms for the ladies. Putting makeup on was a little difficult to see

Above and beyond
We staying in the Keys a fair amount and love key colony community, as it’s convenient to everything and we can bring our boat. Most of the properties are nice however this property is truly spectacular. It’s very hip, well decorated and the owners thought to offer every possible amenity including bike and paddle boards. We were blown away. The management company made booking and checkin very easy and quick. Their communication and accessibility were well above par. This will be our first choice in the Keys every time we come down in the future

Could not be better!
Simply could not be a better. This property is everything that is pictured, and more. The kitchen is more than adequately stocked with items needed to cook any meal you want, garage is stocked full of everything you could need for ALL the fun! We really enjoyed riding the bikes to a local coffee shop. The pool is the perfect size to enjoy, especially with kids, or to just cool off and the whole back yard is INCREDIBLE. We spent 90% of our time back there. LOVE the turf to keep things clean!We are big boat people, so we rented a boat during our stay (because we live 17 hours away LOL) and the convenience of the canal to everywhere we wanted to go was prime. The docking situation was also great. SO easy.The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, and comfortable. Loved having the huge closets to store our clothes and suitcases out of sight!If you are on the fence about booking, do it, you will NOT be sorry! We already can't wait to come back!

Amazing vacation!
This is by far the best house we’ve stayed at in The Keys. We enjoyed the paddle boards, bikes, and games on a daily basis. The pool chillers were the best after a day on the boat. The beds were comfy, everyone had their own private bathroom, we had everything we needed to cook meals. Best stocked house ever! I couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. We had an amazing trip!

Relaxing Family Vacay
We enjoyed a great week at this beautiful home. It had everything we needed. We loved hanging on the back porch after a fun day of fishing. We will definitely book again. The property management company did a great job making sure all our needs were met. Great home to enjoy a relaxing time in the Keys.

Wonderful family memories
We had a wonderful week at Sunshade Villa. It was the perfect spot to make family memories. The accommodations were impeccably clean and it seemed like everything was so thoughtful....from providing kayaks, paddleboards and a high chair to knowing the importance of comfortable beds and furniture. We all felt at home and would certainly recommend this property to out family and friends.

Amazing week in paradise!
Wow! This was the best rental property for 3 generations in a family of 6 people. The home was clean, modern, and had anything and everything we could have wanted. 4 full bathrooms with never ending hot water was a huge plus while everyone was showering. We had internet issues and someone came right out to fix the issue. My only complaint (which isn't really a complaint) is that I never saw a manatee swim by as other reviewers had mentioned:( The kayaks and paddle boards were a great thing to have too. Thanks for a great week!

Amazing vacation and accommodations!
We had the best week at the Sunshade Villa. The house was amazing, the community was safe and tons of great things to do and places to eat. The private dock on the canal was one of our favorite parts, catching fish and watching the nurse sharks and manatees swim up daily. Truly a slice of paradise and some place we would love to return to. Thank you for providing such a wonderful home away from home.
