Enjoy all Stuart has to offer while staying in this quaint Florida style home. The house has been updated with a well equipped kitchen and decorated with popular 'beach chic' theme. The tropical landscape, outdoor living spaces, and friendly, yet private setting make it a perfect choice for your vacation get-a-way. Reliable fast WiFi and work desk in front of the window creates a pleasant work space or set up your work space on the covered patio surrounded by plants and fresh air. The friendly neighborhood has sidewalks and quiet streets which make biking and walking for pleasure or shopping very common. Furry friends will be happy with the neighborhood walks as well as the securely fenced yard which includes a view of the front sidewalk. Fresh Market grocery store and a variety of shops and restaurants are only a few blocks away. Travel a few more blocks to the local sports bar/restaurant hangout, Carson's Tavern and a variety of other restaurants, shops and cafes. Historic downtown Stuart is a 1.5 mile pleasant walk or bike ride.
Travel 3.5 miles east on SE Ocean Blvd over scenic causeway bridges over the Indian River Lagoon to popular Stuart Public Beach or drive to one of the many smaller public access beaches and you may see only a handful of people including a surf fisherman or two. To watch the surfers, turn right on McCarther Blvd and find the House of Refuge Museum and beach access paths just beyond the Museum. At the end of the road you will find Bathtub Beach which is great for families or snorkelers if you hit the tide just right. Beautiful beach walks are a great way to start or end your day. Best sunset viewing is located across the street from the House of Refuge Museum on the public pier extending into the Indian River Lagoon.
Head 1.5 miles west on SE Ocean Blvd to historic downtown Stuart and you will find a variety of unique locally owned restaurants and shops as well as the Lyric Theater and General Feed Store Museum or check out one of the many festivals that may be in town on any given weekend. On Sundays, be sure to visit the Green Market for Fresh Produce and local crafts as well as free outdoor concerts along the St. Lucie River front outdoor amphitheater.
Walk down the Stuart boardwalk to the Marina to chat with the boaters at popular Sailor's Return Restaurant which also provides great evening entertainment where you can dance the night away.
If you enjoy swimming or lounging by the pool the YMCA of the Treasure Coast is 1.5 miles from the house by car or 1 mile by walking or biking through the neighborhood. The pool is heated to 83 degrees and offers, leisure swim, lap swim and water fitness classes for a daily or weekly fee. You will find more information, hours of operation and fee schedule in the Guest Notebook. This locally popular facility also includes a state of the art fitness facility.
From the charming, historic downtown Stuart area to the Indian river Lagoon, known as the largest estuary in the US, to the natural beauty of Hutchinson Island's pristine beaches on the Atlantic Ocean, you will have a wonderful experience.

Year Purchased: 2015
About the owner: We moved to south Florida in 1987 and built our first vacation rental property in 1999 for our own family to use in the summer beach season and enjoyed our family time together for many years. Our renters were frequently thanking us for providing them a nice vacation home. Once my husband began working full time in the real estate business, we decided to purchase other vacation rental properties, update the homes and create a fun part- time family business.
Why this property? Our first rental property was not pet friendly and yet, we were commonly asked if pets were allowed. We have dogs and understand how important it is for some people to travel with their pets. Therefore, we purchased this cottage and the cottage next door to fill the demand for clean, well maintained, well located and PET FRIENDLY rental properties.
We enjoy living here in Martin County because of the climate, beaches and small town quality of life. However, it is possible to experience what the large metro areas have to offer within a 2 hour drive to Miami and Orlando and all points in between. Life is good here in South Florida!

This place is WAY nicer than the images represent. It was so comfortable and quiet! We loved it!
I definitely plan on coming back next year!

Very nice. We enjoyed this very much. The furnishing were great. Very nice neighborhood. Loved the padio.
It was absolutely perfect, totally equipped with everything and great indoor and outdoor spaces.
Allison was a wonderful host. The location is amazing in a great neighborhood but very close to restaurants and the beach. My two dogs had just as great a time as I did. Already booked our next trip. Thanks, Allison!

Cottage close to everything
We stayed in Stuart for late March thru April. The cottage had everything we needed along with a nice patio for relaxing and a fenced yard for our puppy. We did a lot of grilling on the Weber gas grill. The layout of the house is great and the beds and bathroom comfortable. We walked the neighborhood and took advantage of a guest membership at the YMCA. We were close to downtown Stuart and the beach. The owner is helpful and responsive. A hidden gem.

Perfect pet friendly home
The house was in a perfect location for us to meet the newest member of our family! The kids house was just up the street in walking distance. Perfect for us to spend time with our new grandson!Location is also great for all the beaches that we took our dog too every morning and close to town for the Sunday morning farmers market and boardwalk. The house was great and the first time it felt like home away from home! Enjoyed by not only us but our local family too.Thank you Allison
