2200 sq. ft. The home (also known as Margaux's Hideaway) was built in 1890's, with a farmhouse charm, and porches off of every bedroom. It is light and airy, with gorgeous and comfortable indoor and outdoor living spaces. It's perfect for family gatherings, or just a quiet escape. Each room is sunny and bright, with beautiful furnishings and every amenity you could want. The bathrooms are conveniently located and can accommodate larger groups, and now have fabulous Japanese-style bidets. The gourmet kitchen is well equipped, and looks out (via large folding sliding glass doors) on a covered outdoor living space, with chaise and dining table. The pool is just steps further, surrounded by lush tropical plants. Sunbathing here or on the upper deck is a must. In the evening, the large upper deck has string lights- a perfect environment for drinks, dessert, or conversation.

It's on a quiet lane, next to the famous Key West Cemetery, and perfect for strolling, biking, or hopping on a scooter. It's close to markets like Fausto's on White Street or the CVS pharmacy. Sugar Apple Natural Market/Juice Stand is also close by for fresh juice or organic favorites.

Vanessa A.Beautifully Appointed Historic Home in Old Town
I really can't rave enough about this home and the hospitality of the owners. The house is a beautiful historic home in old town that has been lovingly restored. The outdoor living space and the open to the outdoors kitchen (when you open the glass doors) is unparalleled, the large covered porch and the heated swimming pool is where we spent most of our time. The furniture in the house is high quality and comfortable (the beds are the best!!). We spent the holidays there with extended family and our mini Aussie (did I mention pet friendly yet!?), and everyone loved it. The location is convenient to everything in Key West, and the neighbors were all so friendly. The hosts are super sweet and have so much helpful information that they share. We did not want to leave. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We booked this property in the month of April 2023 to be our home base while we got married in Key West!We cannot express how perfect this historic home is! All the Key West charm with modern amenities. 4 gorgeous bedrooms, each with its own deck/porch access. The home is light and bright, yet nice and cool to get away from the heat! The owners have the place stocked with anything and everything you could need to cook, clean, do laundry and explore the island.We cannot go without mentioning the fabulous back yard with a large size pool(For Key West). Beautiful landscape, and an amazing covered porch great for relaxing and entertaining.Also cannot forget to mention the spacious rooftop deck area a great spot to catch some rays during the day, or view the stars at night.This home is perfectly located to explore all areas of the island. We walked a lot, utilized the 2 bikes provided, and had perfect parking spot for our golf cart rental. The house has a very small parking area that will fit a compact car but who needs a car in Key West!If you get the opportunity to rent this property do not hesitate! The owners are extremely accommodating!The pictures look beautiful, but the home is even better in person!1000 Hidden Hemingways will be our go to lodging option whenever we are in Key West!10 stars!- Doug & Tina C.

There's something special about this house, and I can't quite describe it. There's a certain magic that permeates this entire area that feels both mysterious and comforting, and this place ensures you're right in the center of it all. The house itself is immaculate: a piece of history perfectly preserved without feeling old or stuffy. It's like stepping back into a simpler time, in all the best possible ways. Expertly cared for, the place felt spotless. Thoughtful touches are all over, and it feels much more like a home than a rental.Everything from the brief walk to the beach, to grabbing a cappuccino and a cubano or a slice of pie down the street to all the beautiful homes and storefronts in-between are everything you could ask for out of a safe, walkable community. I didn't end up renting a bike, but I think it could have been a great way to get around if you're wanting to cover more ground.The double decks were a perfect way to get the most out of the weather: sunning on the top, or watching the rain from below: the pool quickly becomes the center of the property, as some friends swim and lazily float, while others work & chat at the grand table in the shade or late into the night.I was super impressed with the high-end sound system, after all: a vacation always needs a perfect soundtrack!Needless to say, we all can't wait to return: and can't recommend this rental enough.

Luna J.Perfection in every way
This home is beautifully appointed, spacious, quiet, comfortable and perfectly located. The pool is a haven on hot afternoons, the upper deck is amazing on warm nights for stargazing and the kitchen has everything you need and more. It's an easy walk to the center of town along narrow streets lined with flowering trees. The owners have thought of everything to make this home gloriously relaxing. They are attentive to details and respond quickly when you have a question or concern. We rented bikes and a moped that can be safely tucked inside the fence when not in use. It's a perfect place to work or study (we did both), write your next book, hang out with kids or friends, and savor the perfect weather. We loved the wild, brief rainstorms and rainbows from the upper deck. It was pure magic. Can't wait to return.
