About the Property
We survived Hurricane Michael!
Barrier Dunes is still standing! There is a lot to be done but we are, as a Barrier Dunes and Gulf County community, working hard and making things happen. The progress is moving MUCH faster than anyone could have imagined.
Part of our recovery will be YOU, our guests! The best thing you can do to support our recovery is to COME and enjoy our beautiful beaches, go to dinner and shop in this place so many wonderful folks call HOME and enjoy your vacation.
Folks in the area rely on YOU, our guests, to fully recover. This will allow businesses to stay open and folks to feed their families in Port St. Joe and help them rebuild their lives.

About the owner: We fell in love with Cape San Blas our very first visit! We didn't even know it was a pet-friendly beach at the time and we've always had dogs and been dog lovers!
At the end of about 2 years we ended up owning 3 properties, all in Barrier Dunes, and were discovering more we loved about the Cape every trip! Our kids starting going to Cape San Blas when there were 4 and 6 and both are now in college. I look forward to enjoying the Cape with their families when the time comes!
When I started renting, I was a mom of young kids and realized it was a LOT of work to get ready for vacation, so I try to make it as easy as possible for folks renting with Cape Escape Vacation Rentals. I provide everything from beach chairs down to the little things you want when you're on vacation, but many forget...spice, trash bags, laundry detergent and LOTS in between. I also try to communicate as many details as possible before your vacation and provide a very complete guest information book about the area once you arrive so you don't have to do the research!
Some of our favorite things to do are: Bonfires at the beach after sunset, scalloping in the bay, kayaking, Indian Pass Raw Bar to enjoy oysters, crab legs & steam shrimp as well as great local music and company, a day poking around the stores (and eating) in Apalachicola many things!
I look forward to having you enjoy a Cape Escape soon!

Guestbook comments from the owner:
Wendy: we had a great time visiting the Cape! Beaches were absolutely beautiful and the “squeaky” sugar sand brings back memories of my childhood. We spent a day kayaking the leeward side of St. Vincent National Wildlife Preserve and did a hike over the island tip to the beach side. Such a peaceful and enchanting place is St. Vincent! Did some biking another day into St Joseph Peninsula State Park and then south on the bike trail, fabulous biking! So much to do and too little time. We wished we didn’t have to leave so soon. My husband said it is best to leave before you want to because that means you want to return!
Our stay at Turtle Crawl was wonderful. The unit itself was beautiful, comfortable, and just a short walk to the beach. We loved the dog friendly location as well as all the amenities. The turtle filled lakes were beautiful. We definitely will be returning for another great vacation in the future.
My wife, our dog, and I want to tell you how enjoyable our stay in your Unit 191 in December was. When we arrived, we found the unit, and everything in it, to be very clean. The unit was very well supplied with virtually anything a vacationer could need or want.
The beach was a short walk away and was also clean and wide. We walked twice each day for at least an hour. Our dog loved it, but refused to go into the ocean or even get his feet wet.
The time we spent in Turtle Crawl - Uniit 191 was the perfect relaxation for us and we hope to return next December.
