About this rental
The apartment is in a house on the canal and across from the beach with beach access. It is situated on the ground floor of a two storey Keys house where you would be the only residents. All the amenities would be yours and you would have space, tranquility and privacy in the tropically planted landscape. The backyard is set up for dining, has a charcoal barbecue and a large hot tub to enjoy.
The property is located on a charming one lane street with no outlet. The long sandy beach is located on one side and the canal, with easy access to the ocean and bay is on the other side. You will have the use of chaise lounge beach chairs with cushions for use on beach or the back yard.
The apartment is newly furnished and decorated. It has a king size bed, twin bathroom sinks and a walk- in tumble marble shower. In the living room there is a flat screen TV and the kitchen is fully equipped with granite top cabinets. A modern washer and dryer are in the adjacent laundry room. Local information on stores, restaurants and activities as well as brochures are provided and there is a full time manager who can be contacted if needed.

Area Information
Islamorada is known as one of the very best group of islands in the Keys located approximately 2 hours from Miami, an hour and a half from the Everglades and two hours from Key West. All good fun to visit on a day away but there is plenty to do here in Islamorada. Here are a few of the things we like to do.
Robbie's is a very popular place because they offer such a lot of activities. We go snorkelling on their catamaran but you can also do a sunset cruise, go sport fishing, hire a kayak, feed the tarpons, visit historical Indian Key, just shop and have lunch and much more.
The Theatre of the Sea is popular. You can watch up close withpersonal dolphin shows, sea lion shows, parrot shows, and much more.
Worldwide sports is worth a visit. It is an amazing emporium of fishing gear, clothes and accessories boasting a copy of Ernest Hemingway's boat and an enormous fish tank full of local species of fish. They also have an outdoor restaurant and upstairs bar.
For those who love their wildlife, we really do, there is the Turtle Hospital which rescues injured turtles. Apart from learning about our endangered turtle species you get to see them close up and it is wonderful. A popular visit so you must book.
To see the Keys wonderful variety of birds visit the Laura Quinn Wild Bird SanctuaryBird which nurses injured birds back to health.
If you have deep pockets you can swim with dolphins at the Dolphin Research Centre.

If you want a real Keys breakfast head to Mangrove Mikes. There is a wonderful extensive menu and a popular following.
To watch the sun go down and eat at tables on the beach we head to Morada Bay.
For very good value and good Cuban Food go to Habanos Ocean Front Dining.
Chef Michael's has a good reputation for upscale dining
One of the most popular restaurants is Lazy Days which specialises in fish dishes always super fresh.
Happy Hour is a favourite at many of the local restaurants.

Why this property? Found the house on a laid back friendly one lane no exit street next to the beach and fell in love with it. Spent a long time and a significant amount of money renovating it.

This is the perfect apartment for one couple. Wonderful location on the oceanside with ocean views across the street. Has a great dock for your boat with great ocean access. Fish cleaning table is under the tiki hut, so the sun is not beating down on you as you clean your catch. There is a great cuban restaurant, Habanos, just down the street for those nights you don't want to cook. We will plan to come back again!

Edward B.Our second trip was as good as the first!
We returned for a 2 week stay in June and had a wonderful time fishing, and relaxing. There was plenty of dock space, and the apartment was clean and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable, air conditioning, wifi, TV was all in order. Not a single complaint! With luck we will return next tarpon season if not before.

We had a wonderful time at 202 Sunset. The setting was just what we were looking for PRIVATE and TRANQUIL. The apartment was spacious. We spent each morning walking the path across the highway along Route 1 and exploring the lovely neighborhoods of Islamorada; although nothing in our eyes could top the private street where we were staying. The manatees (mother and baby visited each morning) while enjoying our coffee on the dock. And each evening after the news we spent time in the hot tub looking up at the stars. Our favorite take out restaurant - BAYSIDE GOURMET was outstanding with great breakfast sandwiches, lunch (a great assortment of wraps and sandwiches served with the best pasta salad we have ever had), excellent pizza and italian favorites like chicken parm and spagetti and meatballs. Enricos closer to Tavinier is also good for pizza and italian specialities. Florida Steakhouse in Marathon is great for steak and seafood.The property manager was easy to work with and dealt with our requests even by phone for the first two weeks as she was recovering from Covid. And the owners were very easy to work.

Everything was perfect from the beautifully furnished apartment to watching the manatees from the backyard canal. Just a few minute walk and we were at the beach wading out to the sandbar. It was so quiet and relaxing. Isolated but near everything you would want to do. At night we would sit in the large hot tub and view the stars. We cannot say enough about this lovely and wonderfully landscaped paradise. Can’t wait to return! Thank you Patrick and Carolynne for our amazing stay and to the wonderful manager, Zosia for her attentiveness and kindness.

RANDY S.Perfect Couples Getaway.
We really enjoyed our time in the Sunset Apartment. Location on the Ocean Side and away from the road. Was very quiet and peaceful. Really well decorated and Modern Apartment with all you need for a week or even longer stay. Big Bathroom and The most comfortable bed i have ever slept in.
