After Christmas Vacay
This home is spacious and met our needs. We reserved this home for a group of 6 adults heading to Universal Studios each day. It’s in a nice clean gated area with nearby restaurants & grocery stores. We did not plan to use the pool because of the projected low temperatures in the forecast. Realistically, we realized there’s was no way the pool could have competed with the ambient low temps to warm it enough to swim. During our stay, it was cold 30-40 degree December days but left with temps in the 70’s.The garage has been made into a game room. The two playing systems in the photo didn’t work although we didn’t waste a great amount of time working with it. The movie area had plenty of seating but are not high back chairs. We didn’t end up using it, but if we had, it may have not been very comfy after sitting in them for long. Per each person’s review of the bedrooms, the king beds were very comfy and the queen bed had very soft linens. The one twin bed mattress used was not comfortable. The master shower water pressure was not the greatest. I have medium long length hair and would following my shower with a move to the whirlpool tub just to get all the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. The property was clean and the towel linens were nice, white and soft. It is a minimum of 30 min drive to Universal Studios on a good day. We went the days following Christmas which is said to be their busiest day. Side note- As for Universal, they have limited capacity and once filled, you’re out of luck for entering unless your tickets specifically are dated for that particular day. This did not include multi day passes some would say. The doors open to the public at 8am and by 8:20-8:30 a couple of our days capacity as met and the parks were closed. A couple of the days the park did open back up around 6pm closing at 10. Download the Universal app and check park hrs. Allow time for travel from the house, heavy traffic at certain times of day (everybody’s trying to get in early before park closes) toto make it through the parking lots and walking time through the City Walk to even get to scanning your tickets. You’ll pass through temp checks then security then ticket entrance. All that needs to be considered when traveling from a distant place. Thirty min doesn’t sound like much but when you factor in the other, it can mean a bit more planning. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and we felt very safe.2 important factors when traveling to an unknown area
