About the owner: Barrier Dunes is our eventual retirement destination. We fell in love with the white sandy beaches and the people of the Forgotten Coast. Until we are able to retire, we look forward to sharing it with others. It's a family friendly neighborhood, is the perfect place for a less crowded beach stay, and the pools and tennis courts available on site are an added bonus. We never tire of the gorgeous waters and sunsets, the variety of sea life that can be seen walking the beach, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing and boating. We love both the tranquility of relaxing on the beach, and opportunity for exciting adventures on the Cape.
Why this property? A string of soft white sand pristine beaches, protecting an aquatic preserve with locally-owned stores and shops. ‘Irresistible’ pretty much sums it up.

Enjoyed a week at this rental as a first time visitor to Cape San Blas. The home was clean, pretty and had everything we needed for the most relaxing beach getaway! Very comfortable beds/bedding with a full bath off each bedroom, kitchen was well stocked with utensils & appliances and a really nice/comfortable living area. Short walk to one of the most beautiful & quiet beaches I've ever been to and a short walk to the pools. Convenient to a beautiful state park with lots of trails and bike accessible. Nice bike rides to ice cream/donuts/market/seafood mart AND cocktails/wine! We LOVED the restaurants & shoppes on the Cape and I am now officially addicted to smoked tuna dip(on most menus of the restaurants and seafood market). Cape San Blas and this rental are officially my favorite beach vacation!

Winter beach vacation
Very clean rental! Was impressed by how clean everything was for an older rental. This condo was plenty of room for us 3. Kitchen has new countertops and is fully stocked with plenty of space. The complex is very quiet and friendly. We rode the included bikes everyday around the island. We would love to come back in summer to use the pools. Rental owners were very prompt in communication and was overall a very enjoyable experience.

Great beach condo
We have rented this condo multiple times. It is very clean, updated and tastefully decorated. The kitchen has been renovated with new cabinets and countertops. Also it is well stocked with dishes, pots and coffee machines. The beach is a short walking distance and you can also bike to the adjacent St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. We'll visit again!

Dream Vacation- family friendly!
Thank you Lois and Tim! your town home was wonderful. Our only complaint is we wish we had more time to spend there. It was 5 stars for cleanliness! The beds were very comfortable and had plenty of room. We absolutely loved the location! We enjoyed the beach that was just steps away on the Gulf side and loved snorkeling and swimming at the state park on the bay side which was a 5 min drive. The pools were also beautiful and fun to swim in. We would recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation and would love to come back again. Thanks again for sharing your home with us and letting us enjoy paradise! Tracy and Ryan and family

This townhome is located in a gated community, and very close to the beach. Lois is quick to respond to any questions. Loved the townhome. Well stocked kitchen for cooking or just grabbing a quick meal to bring back to the home. WiFi was good. Nice pond out back, was fun to watch all the turtles when it was too rainy for the beach. The beach was really close, just a 2 minute walk for us, and it was beautiful!! They provide some beach supplies for your use. Beds were very comfortable, and the showers had great water pressure. They do have a pool right down the street. It looked nice, but I cannot comment further than that cause we did not use it. Parking in attached carport was very convenient. We would love to visit again.

Very nice and well equipped vacation rental!
We stayed at Hakunna Matata in July 2020 and could not have been more pleased with our choice. This has to be one of the best equipped vacation rental properties in which we have ever stayed. The town home has a fully equipped kitchen with everything we needed for our stay along with a gas grill that even had a full tank of gas! Due to COVID, we did a lot more cooking in rather than enduring the restaurant crowds, so a well equipped kitchen was extra nice. There are also two bikes we used to bike into the state park just up the street. They were a bit rusty from the salt air, but they worked great. In the utility closet there are plenty of beach supplies, including a nice beach wagon for carrying your stuff back and forth to the beach, a full size beach umbrella, chairs, and other goodies you might find useful. Being able to park under the town home in the shade is really nice in the summer heat.It is obvious that the owners take pride in their property and want you to enjoy your stay. Lois was very fast in responding to any question we had before and during our stay. Hakunna Matata is a great place to stay - reasonable price, short walk to the beautiful beach, and near plenty of things to do on the cape and nearby towns.
