About the Property
Cape Villas has been torn down due to Hurricane Michael. We will not be rebuilding. Property is for sale.
The area is quite, uncrowded, peaceful and lots of nature to enjoy!
Why Kids Love It
Kids love the pool or building sand castles on the beach. Collecting the shells or searching for sand dollars and star fish. Always new thing to discover!
St. Joseph Peninsula State Park: St. Joseph Peninsula State Park with miles of white sugar sand, this park has one of the top rated beaches in the United States. Sunbathing, snorkeling, and swimming are popular activities along the Gulf of Mexico and St. Joseph Bay. From offshore, canoeists and kayakers can take in a superb view of the high dunes and sand pine scrub. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy fishing, hiking, and bicycling. As a coastal barrier peninsula, St. Joseph provides excellent opportunities for bird watching; over 240 species have been sighted in the park. A boat ramp is located at Eagle Harbor on the bay side.
St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge: The refuge is managed to preserve, in as natural a state as possible, its highly varied plant and animal communities. St Vincent has a large variety of exotic and endangered wildlife. Ten separate habitat types have been identified: tidal marsh; freshwater lakes and streams; dunes dominated by live oak/mixed hardwood understory; scrub oaks; relatively pure stands of cabbage palm; and four different slash pine communities, each with its own unique understory species. St. Vincent is an important stop-off point in the Gulf of Mexico region for neo-tropical migratory birds. The island is a haven for endangered and threatened species, including bald eagles, sea turtles, indigo snakes, and gopher tortoises. Wood storks use the refuge during their migration. In addition, the refuge serves as a breeding area for endangered red wolves. You can get there by boat or ferry.

We enjoyed our vacation @! We had stayed here in 2016, and Maryann had made lots of updates since then, including updating the bathrooms! We had a bit of a problem with air conditioning the first night, it just couldn't keep up with the near 100 degree temperature! But a call to the owner brought repairmen within an hour! We will definitely be back! Love Indian Pass, Apalachicola, and Port St. Joe! Great restaurants and quaint shops!

A Hidden Gem!
Our family decided to do something a little different this year for vacation. My son and his family had typically gone to Gulf Shores or Panama City Beach for vacation, but when they invited me to accompany them, I began to search for a place with a more peaceful atmosphere. I had only recently heard of Cape San Blas from a couple of co-workers who loved it, so I started looking there. Mary's bungalow was just the thing for us. With a 3 year old, you never know if they will like the beach, so we really wanted a pool to access, although we are beach people. We only used it a couple of times, but it was very nice and never crowded. We ate dinner a couple of nights under the gazebo and really enjoyed it. The bungalow literally had everything we might possibly need in the kitchen as well a beach towels, a wagon for taking things to the beach, boogie boards, an umbrella, and nets for crabbing. Lots of books were there as well as board games in case it rained. There was also a grill that we used when we cooked in. The beds were comfortable and both bedrooms had televisions. Both bathrooms were freshly remodeled and very nice. Aside from all of that, the rejuvenation we all received by being able to sit on the beach without anyone else close by was the best! We literally sat on the beach for 6 days and enjoyed every minute. Nearby restaurants are a plus as well as a new "general store" about a mile east of the bungalow that has wine, bread, frozen foods, beach supplies, etc. If you want a beach place that will feed your soul without crowds, mini-golf and go-carts, this is it! Mary was so easy to work with and very responsive whenever I had a question, which was greatly appreciated. My security was very promptly returned as well. My 33 year old son said he will never go back to the crowded beaches again after going to Cape San Blas.

I am so happy that you liked my Cape VIlla Beach Bungalow and the area. The location is quite unique, no highrises anywhere around. I hope to see you in the future!
Beautiful Unit, View, and Vacation
This is our 3rd year here. The unit is everything described and more. Each morning we awoke to a view from the master screened-in porch of the Gulf and beach. Herons, cranes, and egret type birds were in the estuary fishing for their breakfasts. This year we had two eagles perched on a tall pine near us and we watched them fly overhead hunting for meals. The beach is lovely, lots of shells to find. You can literally walk miles in both directions without encountering crowds of people. Dogs are welcome on the beach as long as you clean up after them. Everyone is friendly! We have great neighbors in the next unit and spent several evenings sitting watching the sunsets. The condo's two full bathrooms have been updated and I should say, very well appointed! Even a brand new washer and dryer were there as well. There are many good restaurants near by in Port St Joe, Cape San Blas, Indian Pass Raw Bar is just minutes down the road, and a comfortable drive to Apalach has shopping and restaurants! Don't forget to check out St Joe Fish Co for all sorts of fresh fish (our favorites: smoked fish spread and steamed XL shrimp with seasonings). We are already planning our trip next year - but the decision will be 2 or 3 weeks?! Mary is readily accessible to answer any concerns (we didn't have a one this year).

Mary's Beach Bungalow was everything we hoped and more! The pictures are very accurate. Our family of 5 loved this place and had tons of space! We loved being right by the pool and the beach. It was incredible windy during our stay - way more windy than typical per everyone we talked to! Due to this we stayed out of the ocean for swimming but happily used the pool, fished from the shore, took lots of beach walks, and enjoyed crabbing in the bayou. The girls loved catching crabs! We were able to enjoy the beach in nearby Mexico Beach where the waves and currents were a little more safe for us out of state visitors! We loved being in a serene location but still just a short drive from tons of interesting places. We enjoyed Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe, and Cape San Blas. We also went to Apalachicola. We got donuts from Weber's in Cape San Blas. In Appalachicola we enjoyed oysters at Up the Creek and enjoyed the local beverages at Oyster City Brewing Company. Aside from the amazing location, the accommodations were perfect. I loved the screened porches and gorgeous views. The girls enjoyed having a TV in their bedroom! My husband enjoyed the grill. While we didn't bring our dogs, we loved the dog friendly atmosphere. It was completely amazing! Our entire family loved it and we can't wait to return. On top of that Mary was fantastic! She was prompt in responding, called to make sure we got settled, and was more than helpful and great! Thank you Mary for a wonderful vacation rental!

Hi Trisha, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. The area is quite unique. It is peaceful with so many options as to how to spend your time. I hope you come back to visit us in the future..
Cute and Cozy with Outstanding Beach View/Access
We enjoyed our stay at this charming beach bungalow that offers amazing views from both the ground level and 2nd story porches. We loved being close enough to hear the surf, and could keep the sliding doors open to do so since the porches are screened. The photos are very accurate; it's only about 10 steps from the patio door to the pool gate, and only a few more to the lovely beach. We never got in the very clean pool (early April being just a little too cool for us) but several kids really seemed to be enjoying it. We did have to walk a little way around the bayou to get to the shore, but it was not a big deal. We saw kids having a blast catching crabs in it, and adults kayaking. It was much quieter and more peaceful here than at the Destin area beaches we've visited, even during Spring break. Loved seeing dolphins and sea birds. We like to bring our older Yorkie with us to the beach, and this unit is pet friendly. We did not detect any odor or see stains from previous pet guests which is nice. Also, this is one of the few remaining dog friendly beaches on the Gulf. We appreciated that there were lots of towels and other linens and kitchen items, as well as SO many beach toys, umbrellas, etc. We only used the umbrella, but the array of other items provided was impressive, and would be very nice if you have children with you. Liked having a grill and table on the ground level porch so we could enjoy meals there. The master bed is the only one we used, but it was super comfortable. The bungalow is not new or super luxurious if you're looking for that, but the owner has made some very nice updates, especially to the bathrooms and tv's, dishwasher/washer/dryer. Pretty tile work in bathrooms! We love the fresh steamed shrimp from the friendly folks at St. Joseph Shrimp Company. Mary was great to deal with. This bungalow is cozy and comfortable, and was perfect for our relaxing anniversary trip!
